Overall a Great first impression for a Californian.
First the Staff here in Hill City are very warm and welcoming. When my party and I first stepped into the first of our 2 rooms, I was impressed that the room was well maintained. Room 200 was worth
the money for the 2 nights we where there for. The only concern that I had was that the room may have not been rented out for a few days before we got into the room as one of my party did find some long dead pest in the window sill and later when we returned with some snacks and drinks I pulled out the glassware to discover residual lipstick stains on the glassware, was not that upset but that is one thing to look out for if you are using an industrial dishwasher to sterilize your serviceware. The drive to the actual monument site was not that far as we did the scenic route for pictures and how smaller and older towns than Carver, MN look and feel in today's age. Hill City does not have wired broadband access which is a plus for some and a minus for others. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to get away but still have some comfort on an outdoor excursion. The GM, I do apologize for not remembering her name, made a correct statement in say I would come back. [Less]
