Perfect location. We were close to everything. That means we were close to the Capitol, Lady Bird Lake, 6th street, East Austin (which is thriving now), South Congress, Barton Springs,
the greenbelt, etc. Yes, we were close to a homeless shelter, but the colorful people we met during our trip only brightened our days.
Valet Service: So worth it. I saw a lot of complaints about the parking situation. Honestly, the valet service was just awesome. That might have been one of the best parts of the trip. I loved just texting them to let them know I needed my car, and then having them pull it up in the time I took the elevator down to the lobby. I didn't worry about parking at all and the valet guy even asked me to stop tipping him so much.
This hotel was near Stubbs and some other clubs / bars. We didn't mind the music. If you are trying to get some sleep, ask for a higher floor, perhaps.
If it sounds like I'm contradicting some of the bad reviews that were on the site, i am, because honestly, we were dreading the trip and almost cancelled based on some of them, but in the end, the hotel was great and I'm glad we didn't cancel. [Less]
