    Never Again....

    Our group of 4 friends visit Buffalo twice a year for a week-end get away/shopping trip and have stayed at Staybridge Suites, Clarence most times since it opened its' doors. We have always found the staff very accommodating and our room clean and comfortable - this trip fell short in every way. We checked in to find sticky stains all over the bedding along with what looked like vomit on the bed skirt of 2 of the 3 beds. When we called down to see if there was another room we were told there was not, but they would send someone up to change the sheets. When the less than impressed staff member arrived he asked us to basically prove it, so we showed him and he rolled his eyes and left to get new sheets. He came back, took 30-40 minutes to change the 2 beds in question and left without so much as a 'sorry'. That night there was endless noise coming from other guests well into the night. After the attitude and treatment we received asking that our dirty sheets be changed, we didn't want to call and complain so we put up with it...but that didn't stop the front desk from calling us at 1:00 am to ask if we could 'hear the noise'...who does that?? If we haven't called you, why are you calling us? We had just finally fallen asleep and then the phone rang and woke everyone.
    The entire hotel felt dirty...carpets, walls, everything. What was once a very welcoming hotel now has a completely different vibe about it. At breakfast on Sunday morning two staff members stood and chatted while there was hardly anything left to eat and no cutlery - again we had to interrupt and ask for some and they acted as if we were being rude!
    I expected maybe an apology or a discounted rate when I checked out for all of the problems Friday night, but didn't hear a word about it, and at that point I was just happy to be checking out.
    I am not a complainer and I will miss staying at what used to be our favourite spot in Williamsville, but I expect a name change coming to the front of this hotel - this in no way lives up to the standards of Staybridge Suites. My advice; if you're looking for a hotel in this area, look elsewhere.
