The dishes in the room were extremely dirty — plates, spoons, knives, and so on. I couldn’t believe it, so I washed everything again before using them. I even took a photo of one of the plates. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Excellent stay but loud AC

We have stayed at this location 3 times now. 1 night,7nights and 7 nights again. Service is excellent,rooms are spotlessly clean and breakfast is extensive . The social hour on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday has improved since our first visit. My suggestion would be to bring along your own pot or two if you will be cooking and bowls . They provided one bowl in our kitchen area????? The pool and hot tub are well maintained and the proximity to stores and grocery stores as well as the interstate is a definite benefit. Only down sides were a very loud AC unit this past week and the WIFI kept kicking you out and making you sign in almost every hour..All around a really good place to stay and in a very safe surrounding area.

Pay for a room that won't get cleaned

We stayed 8 days/7 nights at Staybridge Suites. It was our first time staying. It is a lot like a Marriott Residence Inn, except lesser amenities. From the start I asked about getting the room cleaned with the understanding that it would be cleaned every other day or every 3 days. After 3 days of the room not getting cleaned I OFFERED to PAY to have the room cleaned even though I had already "paid for a room the wasn't getting cleaned". For me personally, I can tidy up a room in 5 minutes, straighten the bed covers, no problem. But, it disgusts me to not have the bathroom and kitchen cleaned and floors mopped. The floors were dirty! I never walked in the rooms without shoes! I didn't pay to stay in filth for 8 days. The breakfast was sparse - waffles and tater tots every morning, burnt cheese egg omelets every other day plus chicken/turkey sausage or sausage links, cold scrambled eggs with veggie sausage and bacon every other day. The bread, english muffins, and bagels were recycled every day - by the 3rd day they were tough to eat because they had hardened. There were no sweet muffins or donuts, only some tasteless bakery product. They did have yogurt and fruit but again I was pretty sure it was recycled on a daily basis. They do have evening social hour on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday but we never attended. Parking is free and plentiful, well lit parking area in a good part of Chesapeake. The open air Mall is across the bridge on Greenbrier Parkway.

Wonderful place to stay but concern about dogs and how housekeeping cleaned the furniture and carpet to make sure bacteria, flees from pets as this seems to be a trend with a lot of hotels. It seems pet owners are more popular than non pet owners and people who have allergies Created by animals.
The food was always served cold for some reason eggs were never hot

If it weren't for the thermostat being so strange, and the lackluster WiFi, this place would have gotten a perfect 10 from me.
The thermostat had to be set down so low, as to keep the thermostat "consistently" going. Otherwise, leaving the thermostat between 69-71* F made the room too warm, and the AC wouldn't run consistently enough.
I'm a warm sleeper at night. So, while I don't need a cold room to sleep in, something comfortable where I don't have to keep getting up all night long to cool myself off is preferred.
Now... It was summer time, and humid, in the Norfolk/Hampton/VA Beach Area. So I can give this the benefit of the doubt this time. However, if I stay here again in the future, I may not be so forgiving...

Very nice room! Staff is excellent. Unfortunately, pool was not available for 3 days due to lack of maintenance, as well as gym needs attention.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Very spacious. Good location. Nice lobby and common areas.
