Horrible! Food was bad, employees were rude and hotel is falling apart

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
If I could give zero stars, I would. As soon as we walked into the hotel, the front desk person greeted us with "you're going to have to wait our system is down". No hello. We should have known from the noncompliance notice on the door. There was a breakfast sausage on the table in the lobby. The next morning, when we checked out, the breakfast sausage was still on the lobby table. The hallways had a strong urine smell. The rooms were dingy, dusty walls and filthy tables with scratches and ingrained food and marker stains. There was a huge hole in the carpet in the room? Which really is a trip hazard. The room had a stinky odor. We were originally supposed to stay at the hotel 49 days after the first night.We checked out and found a better hotel. Are complaints to staff about the quality of the hotel? We're not addressed or even acknowledged. The only consolation they gave was to check out, which we did happily. This poor experience has turned me away from ever renting from staybridge again. I have photos to document the poor condition of this hotel.

The room need to be better clean, the pullout bed had food wrappers from previously stay guest. The bed had stain. The sheet has holes. The refrigerator had leaked water inside. The was a crack on the floor in the kitchen. Sink look they were not clean.

I've been an IHG member since 2010, and I enjoy the perks of being a Diamond Elite, mostly better parking, and just the acknowledgment of reaching this level. The front desk attendant did not recognize me as a Diamond Elite member; however, he did offer me points or a snack. The room was missing the Dove hand soap, and the Dove lotion was not securely attached to the wall, which made it vulnerable to tampering. The shower curtain rod was placed too high, so the shower curtain did not reach the bath, allowing water to fall on the floor, which created a slipping hazard. My wife has started to travel to Houston more often, and we plan to make more trips this summer with our children; however, I will more than likely avoid staying at this hotel in the future.

The staff are friendly and responsive. Also the wifi connection is fantastic. The breakfast was decent, with the waffle maker and fresh fruit, including strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, melon, grapes, apples, and oranges. Unfortunately, the eggs, potatoes, omelettes, sausage links were all prepackaged and had that institutional, school cafeteria taste. Those are the highlights. My room had a very strong odor from the cleaning products used. The TV is super old and I wasn’t able to connect my iPad, iPhone, or play movies or music from a USB. I did love the fridge, but I skipped on using any of the utensils, knives, plates, etc…cuz it was obvious these were not properly cleaned. The two biggest issues were the following. First, the door to my room was malfunctioning. At times, it would take 10 minutes before I could get it to open. Other times, it would take 5 minutes. Oher times, it would be normal. So that was a bit frustrating. Imcould have moved rooms, but my stay was short and all my stuff was sprawled out. Second, I found a huge cockroach crawling around the bathroom. It had to either have crawled out of the ceiling vent fan or out 9 the bathtub drainage. It was huge!! Again, thank goodness I had a short stay. Also, I did tell the front desk about this, but 8 mean, how can they remedy these things, especially for me on a short stay. I did provide this feedback on the survey that I was sent. I’ve stayed at other Staybridge Suites in Houston and other parts of the US. This one definitely shows its age. They’re renovating it, so maybe it’ll get better.

Great location and Staff

I had an event at Sam Houston Race Park and this hotel was a great choice for anyone attending an even there! Mon- Wed there is happy hour downstairs!! breakfast was great every morning. The rooms are like like mini apartments and have a cozy feel to them with plenty of amenities for a comfy stay. I will stay here again !

Great staff, reliable housekeeping services and good breakfast. For the price; it simply is the best deal for business or leisure travel. No ifs or buts.

Great service and food, disgusting property

The staff was great, and the hot breakfast that was included was awesome, the beds were comfy - but that was the only positives. The rooms and entire property was dingy, outdated, damaged. The carpets were all sticky and smelled bad. The furniture and appliances in the rooms were all damaged or gross. The showers were lukewarm, not hot. Anytime we used the sink or the shower, it would make a high pitched noise. The air conditioning in our two bedroom apartment was awful - one room was way too cold, and one was way too hot. We didn't want to touch anything in the room or sit on the furniture because it all just felt dirty. To be honest, I have stayed at IHG hotels many times, and I always associate the brand with exceptional comfort and cleanliness, which is why I was looking forward to my stay here. It was really disappointing and if I were IHG I would not want my brand affiliated with this property.

Worn out IHG property. Towels old and stained. Furniture worn and looks old. Rug hasn’t been vacuumed in forever.

I consider the Sraybridge the pinnacle of the IHG brand as I spend weeks on end on location for my career. This one is old and in poor condition. It needs a refresh. What I have noticed since covid the cleaning staff has stopped being thorough with the cleaning part of their job. It’s sad.
