Staybridge Suites Rockford

Very dated but going through update.

Motel 6 hotels are cleaner than this hotel. Get off the elevator on 3rd floor and the smell of urinal cakes overwhelm a person. Dark dingy room once I get in the room. Dry wall cracked around the windows, carpet in throughout the room well beyond its life cycle. Residence Inn across the parking lot. Would stay there next time and recommend staying there. The cost of the room was through the roof for what you get.
Only thing missing was a hooker or 2 knocking on the door.

What a dive hotel!!!!!

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Shower was mediocre, little water pressure and bad repair jobs.

I walked around for 30 min with new socks on and when I put on shoes my socks were filthy. So in the evening i had to keep a wash cloth on bath so I could clean my feet before going to bed. I was solo traveler and door mechanism didnt work well.

Great hotel. Very reasonably priced. Great staff

This hotel is very reasonably priced. The staff was very delightful. The room were well equipped, roomy and and clean. The only thing they could have done better is have a Guide and instructions on how to run the TV.

Ice Cold Pool

I love staying here because of their nice big suite rooms but another reason I do is because I enjoy going in the swimming pool. The time before this I took an 88 year old woman who really enjoys going in the water, but we could hardly get in because it was colder than usual. This time I didn't know what to expect but I was really looking forward to getting in the pool. I stepped onto the first step of the pool and that was as far as I went, the pool water was ice cold. Needless to say I will be looking for another way to get my pool time when I come to town.

We chose this hotel based on feedback about breakfast and it lived up to expectations. Not to say it's 5* restaurant, but great variety nice fruit bar, waffles, baked goods, potatoes eggs (loved the scrambled eggs white, bummed when not there Sunday, but plenty of other options.)

The room was very clean. The sheets were nice and crisp. The king bed sloped a little but still comfortable. No block out shades but that was fine by me. Comparing other hotels with free breakfast, I would say this is the best. They had a waffle maker, eggs, yogurt, and many other items. The bacon was very good; better than many restaurants. Not many plugs for charging electronics; we had to unplug the lamp. Did hear some footsteps above us; but if we were already asleep, probably would not have woken us up. This was our first time staying at a Staybridge and I would stay at one again.

This was my third visit to Rockford in 9 months, Staybridge provided me the best accommodations of my three stays. If I need to come back I will definitely stay here again, no questions asked. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was awesome, social hours on Mon, Tue and Wed were a nice break at the end of the work day. Free laundry. My room was cleaned daily and I had fresh towels.

You have 3 options.
1, stay at your friend or relative's house.
2, stay at an Airbnb or rental house.
3, stay at a hotel.
I would choose option 3, since hotels have been my go-to option for many years.
Staybridge Suites had everything you would need in a hotel. No, it wasn't very modern, but it did have big rooms, which were an important thing for me. It felt luxurious in those rooms, everything about them (such as them having an ironing board in the bathroom). The blackout curtains were a big hit.
The hotel itself was very nice, with a big, high-ceilinged dining area, a room where you can buy food and water where some nice people may even give you a free water bottle (as they did to me), exercise rooms, and, of course, the pool.
After the bustling corridors of O'Hare Airport, this was a much-welcomed stay.
