Nightmare at Staybridge Suite !

NEVER AGAIN ! POLICE REPORT FILED ON THIS PLACE! I have to review off of my stay from last year because I do not have the option to review my stay from 9/5/2025 because they know it will not be a good review. I booked a 5 night stay. I booked a two room suite because I am traveling with my 70 year old mother, husband and two kids ages 4 and 7. I was in town visiting family, we arrived at our hotel at 11 pm. I noticed the pullout couch had no bedding for my two children. I called the front office, no one answered. I then walked to the front desk, no one there but behind a closed door, there was loud music playing. I called out “ hello” two times, after several minutes the front desk manager opened the door and said, “ what”.
I told him I have two kids sleeping on the sofa couch and there is no bedding, May I get some. He walked past me, said wait here. I waited for several minutes and finally took a seat as he was taking so long. He finally comes back down the hallway and tosses me some bedding. He didn’t look at me or acknowledge me. I said thank you. He ignored me, I said it again and he ignored me. I then look down and realized I only had 1 pillow. I then said, “excuse me, I need one more pillow, I mentioned I have two kids. “ he said no you didn’t. I then said I did but your music is very loud maybe you didn’t hear me, could I please have another pillow.”
He then tells me, I have 45 minutes to leave the property or he will call the cops. I went to go get my husband and let him know. My husband thought I was joking. He came with me to find out what was going on. My husband asked him why are we getting kicked out, the desk clerk claimed I was being combative. My husband said will we be reimbursed for the days we don’t use… 4 more days. Desk clerk said no . Desk clerk called the police. The police showed up, apologized profusely but stated there is nothing they could do but escort us out because the hotel can kick us out for any reason. They suggested I follow up with this and that o have their body cam footage to use for my case. I had to go back and wake up my elderly mother and children and leave at midnight and find a new hotel. It was the weekend so I had to wait until Monday to contact the manager to let her know what happened. I called at 11 am that Monday, some to the new desk clerk and let her know I urgently needed to speak to the manager. The desk clerk called me back at 3 pm, 4 hours later to inform me that the manager is super busy this week and wouldn’t be able to even get back to me until Thursday, 6 days after the incident. I showed up randomly on the next Wednesday to see maybe if she wasn’t too busy if I just showed up. She walked out of the office, I stated who she was and she said she refused to talk to me. At that point , I went to the local police station and reported all of this.
I never want this to happen to another family. I thought I would be able to talk to the manager but she refused. So she must condone the actions of the front desk manager. The front desk manager is Jordan although he was not wearing a name tag at the time and refused to give his name. The manager is Mellissa . I have an ongoing investigation, there is security footage of the incident.
Besides this. The facility claims it is under renovation. It was very dirt conditions, old and run down. We stayed there because we wanted to use the pool for our kids. Beyond everything that happed , I would have given it a 0 star because of cleanliness alone.
Stains all over the floor, it looked like a huge spit wad on the wall in the kitchen, no bedding for the second room or the pullout couch even though I booked a two room suite for 6 people. Hair on the floor in the bathroom, broken door handle to the master bedroom and looked like the door was kicked in. Cat urine smell in the closet. When I gave my police report, he told me that any of the hotels on that road he would advise me not to use in the future as he gets multiple calls to those places and he had seen ungodly things.
He gave me suggestions in the future for my yearly visits. I have never given a poor review before but I am hoping to save someone in the future this horrible experience.
Definitely worth the money

Our fourth time stay here and we are always pleased. Staff is friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms have plenty of room for an extended stay and full kitchen, two tvs. My recommendation is that the rooms need upgrading. A plus is they have free washers and dryer, morning breakfast and three social evenings with snacks.
Ok Rooms. Excellent Staff.

The room was okay.
It was very roomy.
While it does look dated, it was fine for staying in.
Everything was clean.
Breakfast was decent.
Nice hotel. Spacious for a family

We stayed here for four nights as a family of four. The room was spacious, giving us adequate space so we didn’t feel on top of each other. Noise level was low at hotel. The breakfast had many choices for different preferences. I wish Saturday and Sundays choices varied with the hot selection but otherwise than that, it was adequate. The kids enjoyed the pool. Wished pool hours were just an hour longer.

This hotel is in bad need of updating. The rooms are outdated, the elevator took forever to close and go once inside, my room was dirty upon arrival, and the hotel smelled musty and old.
Excellent Family Experience

The suite was excellent and my entire family was comfortable and had a great experience. My family (especially the younger members) enjoyed the amenities like the workout room and pool. The included breakfast especially well worth the cost.

Using the word "suites" for this hotel is a stretch. First, the configuration of the kitchen was not like any I had ever stayed at. Second was the lack of cleanliness. All the doors and doorsways had stains. We joked that it looked like it had been dusted for finger prints. The chair in the bedroom was disgustingly stained as well. I don't even want to think about why. I was embarrassed that I had recommended this hotel for my brother and parents.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with my recent stay at Staybridge Suites Mount Laurel, NJ, from July 25th to July 28th. As a frequent guest of your hotel, I was especially surprised and disheartened by the experience my family and I encountered during this visit.
On our first night, we were approached in an aggressive and unprofessional manner by a female staff member who banged on our door around 11:00 PM, accusing us of making excessive noise. We explained that we were quietly watching TV, yet she insisted she had been standing outside our door for some time listening in. This behavior felt intrusive, unsettling, and completely contrary to the standard of hospitality we have come to expect from your establishment.
Despite making every effort to remain as quiet as possible the following night, we were once again disturbed—this time by children running through the hallways, banging on random doors. I reported the incident to the front desk, where a staff member confirmed the behavior but offered no apology or assurance that it would be addressed.
Later that evening, while my wife and our handicapped son (who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) were watching TV and I was working on my laptop, we again heard a knock on our door. I opened the door to find no one there, so I went to the front desk to inquire. The same female staff member was present and began speaking to me in a raised, aggressive tone in front of other guests, stating that she would call the police. I calmly responded that I had no objection, as we had done nothing wrong.
Approximately 20 minutes later, a police officer arrived at our door accompanied by the same staff member, who declared that we were being evicted—again, with no explanation—before walking away. Another staff member then arrived and informed the officer that we did not need to leave, and we were told to “have a good night.”
We were understandably shaken by this, and had already gone to bed when, at approximately 1:00 AM, we received a phone call from the same male staff member, stating that we were now officially being evicted with no further explanation forcing my wife and I to travel with our handicapped son on a 3 hour ride back home.
This entire series of events was not only deeply disappointing but also frightening—especially for our handicapped son, who was left traumatized by the fear of being removed or visited in our room by the police.
The lack of professionalism, poor handling of guest concerns, and overall treatment we received left us extremely dissatisfied and concerned for the well-being of future guests.
I respectfully request a full investigation into this matter and a formal written response outlining what actions your hotel will take to address this incident and ensure no other family experiences similar treatment.
Thank you for your attention to this serious matter.
Sincerely,
Louis
