Great room. Clean and tidy. Location is a bit tricky to get to if you are using a car. Priya at check in was amazing and super friendly and helpful.

The hotel makes a great first impression, it is in a great location. It's modern, spacious and clean. Check in was great. First impressions of the room were brilliant. I had an apartment with kitchen area, the facilities were great. However when I went to get into bed I noticed the headboard was peeling quite badly, I then noticed the paint on the ceiling was also peeling. In the morning I noticed the shower tray anti slip had come away and looked very dirty too. None of these things really impacted my stay in what was an otherwise great place but I do think the room needs to be repaired because the standard was so high everywhere else these little things let the place down. When I told the staff member upon checkout and showed him some photos, he just said "ok, I'll make a note". A sorry or a thank you for your feedback would have been nicer. I wasn't complaining really, its hard to complain about the place, it was more of a heads up, the room isn't in a good way.

This was our first experience of the Staybridge Suites. We were very impressed. Much more comfortable than a standard hotel room with good comfortable seating and basic cooking facilities. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and the room was clean and spacious. We will seek out Staybridge Suites again

Amazing suites prime location with a 5 star food

Such an amazing apartment suite so big clean and has everything and more that you need for a comfortable weekend. In a prime location and central to everything just a few minutes walk to centre staff are very friendly welcoming and helpful and breakfast was a 5star so many options all fresh and sooo yummy we will defo be back again

Second time round experience

2nd time stay . Unfortunately wasnt as good as the first time. Overall room was clean but shower was broken sink was blocked and stains on headboard and sofa. Break is always good and staff are friendly. Noise levels are not great as you can hear are guest in the hotel.

Having stayed in several Staybridge Suites around the country, I must say that the Staybridge Suites in Birmingham, UK, was a unique blend of American-style hospitality in a distinctly British setting. While there were certain differences compared to its American counterparts, it remained a great option for travelers seeking comfort, cleanliness, and good amenities amid the hustle and bustle of downtown Birmingham.

Positives:

The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming, setting the tone for a pleasant stay. Breakfast provided a delightful fusion of English and American styles, offering a wide variety of options that catered to diverse tastes. I appreciated the effort to uphold Staybridge branding, as the maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel were spot-on. This consistency is always comforting to guests familiar with the brand.

The hotel's "happy hour" was a highlight, providing great snacks, drinks, and opportunities to strike up conversations with fellow travelers. It’s a lovely touch that enhances the communal vibe Staybridge Suites is known for.

However, the food joints, shopping areas and the tram and train stations are walking distance.

Challenges:

The location in downtown Birmingham came with its pros and cons. On the one hand, it is central, making access to public transport like tram lines and Uber convenient. On the other hand, the area felt crowded, and the lack of hotel-specific parking was inconvenient. At night, the surroundings felt less secure due to the activities outside the hotel.

American travelers should note a few key differences. The rooms and suites are noticeably tighter compared to Staybridge Suites in the U.S., which may come as a surprise if you’re accustomed to more spacious setups. When booking a "King Bedroom," keep in mind that European “king” beds are closer to American “queen” beds in size. The narrow corridors make navigating with luggage a frustrating exercise, and there is no pool or jacuzzi—a difference that some may miss.

Final Thoughts:

Despite the cultural and spatial differences, Staybridge Suites Birmingham is a solid choice for anyone visiting the city. The amenities are well-maintained and the hospitality is excellent. Very happy with my stay - my second. I was upgraded to a very comfortable room. Even more appreciated, was the early check-in. Reception staff were very friendly.

My partner and I enjoyed a very comfortable stay here, the location was perfect for us, the staff were very nice and the room and amenities were kept excellently. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Birmingham.

As soon as we walked and got to reception, the staff were friendly but professional. We had a nice chat with both Peace and Priya. We had nice chat with them and a bit of a laugh. It made the both of us feel welcome. Unfortunately we did d not seen them again. However all the reception staff were lovely and friendly too.

The room was very spacious and clean. Nice bathroom with bath and shower, which was nice and hot. Shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. Well equipped kitchen. If you wanted you could easily cook a nice meal. The bed was nice and comfy with lovely pillows.

Breakfast. Lots of choice, buffet style. Everything was fresh and you could have anything from yogurt, fruit, even crumpets and the quality was very good. The bacon, sausage and the hot food was decent quality. The staff again were always on hand with a smile and kept the tables clear.
Would we stay again. Definitely!! The reason the staff. Every one of them we met were lovely.

Perfect hotel for our stay visiting the ICC for a dance event. Easy walking distance to the ICC, bullring shopping centre, train station. Hotel had everything we needed including great breakfast & small shop selling food to cook yourself in kitchenette.
