Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by would not stay again when making my booking I picked a 2 bed room knowing that my wife and 2 kids were going to be with me when I went and checked in they had me in a king room and that was the only room they had so I asked for them to send me a roll away to my room and the lady at the front desk said she would have house keeping take one to me this was around 4 P.M when we came back to the room at 10 P.M. they hadn't brought the bed so I had to go get it myself. As for the room the A/C never cooled the room off it smelt like mold in the room the bath tube was very dirty and there was trash left in the room from the last person the guest service wasn't helpful or nice and when we woke up the next morning to leave we found bugs all in are room. The only reason we had stayed at this hotel was because we were going on a cruise and I was using my points for this stay. This is hands down the worst holiday Inn that I have ever stayed in and this is coming from a club member that stays around 200 nights in different Holiday Inn a year. August 23, 2015

Very clean, nice hotel, close to the beach and Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens. Highly recommend this place to others. Breakfast was good. Will definitely be going back again. August 13, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Would not recommend if using hotel for cruise stay I would not recommend if using hotel for cruise stay. The distance is further from the cruise ship without anything to do within walking distance. There is not a crosswalk, so to get to the beach, you have to run across a busy highway. This was a little dangerous! Also, the cruise shuttle could only be paid for roundtrip for $50, regardless of whether you only asked for one-way transportation. We took a taxi for $21, so it worked out better but the front desk staff tried to make it appear that it was impossible to take a taxi with statements such as, "if it will come" or "you will be waiting a long time". Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location - some training needed Upon check in we were greeted by a grumpy employee. After talking to her about my reservation ID, the tune changed a bit so we gave her the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes people have bad days or can be caught of guard. She was very pleasant and accommodating getting us checked in. Pool: We told the front desk staff 3 (different) times the pool needed attention -1 hot tub was green/grey in color and pool had way too much chlorine. Not once did anyone come to check the pool (we laid out all day). We were alerting staff for to protect the hotel, both my husband and I are CPO (Certified Pool Operators). The chlorine was so high that it bleached my swimsuit bottoms, see attached I was shocked! Normally I would have brought to the front desk, but it was evident to us the employees had no work ownership. Cleanliness: Stairwells and common areas were really filthy dirty. We can certainly overlook the dirty balcony's being right on the gulf and salt water issues they have to encounter. However no reason for a stairwell to have muck and debris all over them. Attention to detail: The breakfast area was busy and normal HIE food served. Eggs were served cold (attendant had just brought a new tray out). This is not a huge deal breaker, no conditioner in the room, was given to lotions. Ladies with long hair can understand the annoyance of this amenity. Lovely ladies at the front desk were nice and gave us 3 of each (shampoo and conditioner). We expect a higher standard from IHG hotels, I'm pretty sure none of the staff alerted management so for this we will be back hoping some training is done and employees understand they are part of a HUGE picture. Everyone deserves a second chance. See you next time. August 10, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor customer service/ Room was clean when arriving to our hotel we encountered some problems at check in due to being placed in a handicap room which no one in our party was handicap, they had to change our room. As we were checking out there was a price difference in both rooms we reserved, they were the exact same room, same floor and same accommodations. When we asked an associate why the price difference she was unable to let us know but that it was a "mistake" on their behalf. I asked for a price match since both rooms were booked under the same name and time just different payment methods she wasn't budging at all. I later called corporate and received even WORSE customer service after being on the phone over 30min I was made clear that the incident that happened was OUR fault. NEVER staying at the Holiday INN August 6, 2015
