Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Suites are great When our room was not ready, they made a room available and it was not finished, but they offered us a suite and it was very nice. New fixtures and very up to date. Maybe the chairs could have been a little newer, but we did notice a couple days later, they were taking chairs out of rooms, possibly to be replaced. The breakfast room was a little small but we were able to take food back to our room and eat. All and all the room was nice and we enjoyed our stay in Ventura. May 21, 2015

I spent 2 hours trying to get the reservations right. - There was a slight but problem in the hotel room which caused a medical reaction May 13, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by electrical plugs and computer access I use my cell phone for music and alarm clock. There are not enough plugs accessible on the side of the bed to plug in the phone charger without unplugging the light or clock or something else. The desk and chair are made for tall people, which I am not. Even with the chair at its highest, I can not comfortably use the lap top computer and a mouse with out wrist issues. If I adjust the seat for my feet to be firmly on the ground, it is worse for my wrists. Why do you have a desk with a drawer in the center? Guests will not use it for pencils or paper clips and a keyboard tray would make it functional for all your guests instead of just the big, tall ones. May 3, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value-Beautiful View and Location This hotel appears to need renovation. It was possibly even in the very early process during our stay. It does seem less updated than any other Holiday Inn we have stayed in. There needs to be a better description of where to exit in the event of an emergency. We were told there was only one entrance/exit, though we found another exit (with much needed stair repair and a broken door handle) on our end of the building. The staff are very friendly. The view of the harbor is wonderful. I would recommend having a back up breakfast dining place. The coffee in this hotel is quite good. May 2, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Location, Average Hotel The Holiday Inn Express in Ventura Harbor is in a beautiful location. All of the rooms have a view of the marina. The rooms are large and clean, but dated. A family of 3 or 4 would be comfortable in these guest rooms. Each room has a balcony with chairs to enjoy the sunset and marina activity. The rooms also have refrigerators - a nice bonus. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Internet was on the slow side, but reliable. The daily USA Today was an appreciated gesture. The harbor has plenty good eating establishments - and a few shops. A protected beach with a lifeguard stand (manned seasonally) was a short walk away from the hotel. The hotel charges $10/day for parking. Breakfast was hot and very simple. Other than the location and the staff. There is nothing special about this hotel. April 29, 2015
