Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Great resort, but rooms need to be maintained better. The location is in the middle of nowhere, but calling the hotel to get picked up from the Sekupang Terminal was pretty efficient. The Sekupang Terminal didn't have any payphones so the girl at the help desk was kind enough to use her personal phone to call the hotel. The driver arrived about 20 minutes after the call was made. The hotel has a great pool, sports lounge and the staff are very friendly. They were helpful and checking in was a breeze. We booked a 2 bedroom deluxe suite and it is of a good size. We sat on the balcony a few times. Upon entering, our first impression was that the rooms weren't up to Holiday Inn standards. The ACs are very old and loud. This kept me up most of the night. The living room AC was also leaking. The safe in the room had a low battery so we couldn't utilize it. I was also surprised that there wasn't an alarm clock available. A number of the outlets were faulty and pushed our chargers back out when we stuck them in. The master bedroom closet light was constantly on because the switch was faulty. So we had to go to sleep staring at a closet that looked like it would take us to Narnia. The bathrooms were not maintained well and there were red rust stains in the bath tub that were obviously not cleaned in a long time. There was also a crack in one of the sinks! Other than that, there were bugs on the wall, and ants on the kitchen counter. The curtains also had stains on them. Leaving the hotel wasn't very easy. The night before I talked to someone from the front desk and asked him if we needed to book a shuttle to Sekupang in advance and he told us to come down to the front desk an hour and a half before to get everything settled. The following day my husband went to the front desk a well 2 hours before our desired time to leave and they informed him that everything is good and we can just check out before the shuttle is due to leave at 7:40am. We came down at 7:30am and checked out. However, the shuttle WAS NOT arranged. We had to wait until 8am for one to be available. Good thing Sekupang wasn't very far and we still made it to our 8:40 ferry trip. I would stay here again because the resort has a lot to offer, and it's a good place to come and relax and get away from the city. The tea tree spa was also a nice gem. A little pricey but a great experience! The hotel is overall pretty good, but the rooms need to be better maintained. 6. Juli 2014
Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by FOOD REVIEW OF HOLIDAY INN BATAM For Singaporeans going on holidays, good food is one of their main attractions. The breakfast spread at the Holiday Inn is okay, but, they have to improve on the quality of their meals at their restaurants. Barring in mind the high cost of meals, excluding the 21% taxes, your meals can add to a tidy sum. We dont mind paying for good meals, but the quality of meals served there was poor. At the Tepanyaki restaurant, we were served pre-cooked salmon already precooked in Aluminum foil. All the chef did was warmed the aluminum foil and serve. One would expect to have the chef displaying his skill with his knives but there was none of this, they dont even serve fried vegetables as all tepanyaki restaurants do. After frying the chicken, it was taken to the back and place on a plate and was served to us. The protocol for tepanyaki is to serve directly to the plate where you are seated. The meal at the chinese restaurant was also a let down. We ordered their set dinners, the prawns in clay pot was soaked in oil. 2. Juli 2014

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Nice hotel with complete Amenities I enjoyed my stay in the hotel due its wide range of amenities such as table tennis, billiards, KTV. They have a dedicated gaming room. Except for the KTV, all of the amenities are free of charge. It would have been even better if they have replaced/repaired some the worn down items such as darts and the table for table tennis. I was a bit disappointed with the SPA as it was fully booked for both days when I was there; and it was a weekday. They seem to be understaffed on that department and can certainly still improve. The room I stayed in was very spacious for 2 people. It was a 1 bedroom unit with balcony. The room itself (the way it's designed with the balcony) was nice but you can certainly feel that it was old; there were stains on the curtains, the paint on the wall and the flooring looked untidy, the bed sheets/towels looked old, and the pillows were not exactly comfortable for my standards. My overall experience was still good enough and I will still recommend this hotel to my friends, who would like to go this part of Batam (near the cable ski park). 30. Juni 2014
Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by A great Getaway and staycation, choose Holiday Inn Resort at Batam. A great resort if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. Holiday Inn resort provides a wide range of amenities such as 2 swimming pools, a gym. Spa, karaoke, snooker ,lounge, tennis court and restaurant. Shopping centres are also easily accessible as the resort does provides free transportation to and fro trips. 29. Juni 2014
