Starved Rock State Park is a wilderness area on the Illinois River in the U.S. state of Illinois. It’s known for its steep sandstone canyons formed by glacial meltwater. Several, including the St. Louis, French and Wildcat canyons, have waterfalls. A wooded trail leads to Lover’s Leap Overlook, with views of the river and Starved Rock Dam. Park wildlife includes white-tailed deer, bald eagles and migratory birds.

The Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home is the house located at 816 S. Hennepin Ave., Dixon, Illinois, in which the 40th President of the United States Ronald Reagan lived as a youth beginning in 1920. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Dixon riverfront is an open air plaza that sits upon the historic site of a 1830s ferry crossing and features a bronze statue of Ronald Reagan. The riverfront area includes period lighting, trees, benches, outdoor tables with seats, and restrooms. The Pavilion offers a comfortable covered seating area, while the amphitheater seating is excellent for performance or speaking. Other areas of the riverfront include the West and East Promenades, the Fountain Rotunda and the River Canopy.
