The Alamanni Museum in Ellwangen is located nearby. Based on significant archaeological finds, the museum presents an overview of five centuries of Alemannic settlement from the 3rd to the 8th century AD. The focus is on the unique excavation finds from Lauchheim. Since 1986, not only has the largest Alemannic cemetery in Baden-Württemberg with valuable grave goods been excavated there, but also the associated Alemannic settlement with a manor house and several richly furnished farmyard graves.

Schönenberg is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. The national significance of this magnificent pilgrimage church is reflected in the fact that it was here that the so-called “Voralberg Münster scheme” was first completed. In addition to the accessible galleries and the nativity scene diorama (on display all year round) behind the high altar, the small room of the Chapel of Grace is particularly worth seeing.

The Rosenstein ruins near Heubach are the remains of a medieval castle on the Rosenstein rock of the Swabian Alps. Today, only parts of the keep and surrounding walls remain. Surrounded by forest and steep cliffs, the site offers impressive views and is a popular destination for hikers and history enthusiasts.
