I had a very comfortable and relaxing stay, with a great view of the seawall and Pleasure Pier in Galveston Tx . And will iuse the same hotel with every Galveston visit. And with every travel plan in the future

I've stayed in multiple locations on the island, this place is one of the best vs cost. The spot is great being next door and the beach was fairly empty compared to other parts on the island.

The location is so perfect with easy access to the beach and walkable to many restaurants.
Because it is Galveston, the room was very humid when we arrived and bed felt damp. It soon dried out with A/C turned down. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows weren’t great. I’ll bring my own next time. But overall, we love this hotel.

My friend and i had booked a room at the Wingate by Wyndham in Galveston and upon arrival found the room dirty and unacceptable. It was after 6pm and we were worried we would not be able to find another room. But fortunately Holiday Inn and Express had a room and very nice and helpful staff. The room had a great view even though we did not ask for ocean view as we were just hoping for anything. Room was quiet had a balcony with comfortable chairs great shower but the highlight was the beds. Sheets were clean and crisp and my tired bones just melted in the bed. Pillows were the best. Shower was a walk in and towels were clean and nice. I would recommend Holiday Inn and Express as everything from Staff to service to room was great.

Normally HIE are quite average, and beach hotels tend to be kinda sloppy. This hotel was extremely clean and in great shape. The breakfast was SO much better than other HIE breakfasts. Had real eggs and sausage, not the fake stuff. This hotel is top notch for HIE.
Next door is a great bar/restaurant called The Spot and the Beach is right across the street.

It was our first time to stay here and it has beautiful views ocean right across the street lots of entertainment and shops to visit great food and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and willing to help with anything you needed. Rooms were nice size the very clean. We had a great day. We definitely return.
Check in was very poor and mishandled by management

We booked this room on June 11, 2024. We called our first morning (4/26/25, the first day of our stay) to ask about early check in. We were told to come in around 2-2:30 to check, and they would call us if anything opened up early. At 2:30 we come in, nothing is ready, and we find out that my name and number and info I provided this morning on the phone was never even noted or taken down. We were told to come back at 4 at official, advertised, public check in and our room would definitely be ready. We go next door to eat. Come in after 4:30 (over half a hour after check in time) and our room STILL is not ready and we are directed to a loud and busy lobby to wait for our room to be ready. This is after being told to check on our early check in even 2 hours before that, and being given the run around all day by the staff.
We booked this so far in advance, paid $244 for the reservation, and then were charged ANOTHER $42 for parking on the premises we were not aware of, just to not have a room ready after being in the car and traveling for 12+ hours that day. It is unacceptable for the hotel to be this far behind when we have been on top of our reservation and keeping them updated on our location and arrival since 9:00 this morning.
This is our FIRST anniversary, this room was actually recommended by the Royal Caribbean website, and we had high expectations. After this, we will not be booking with this line again.
In addition to all our personal issues, the elevator in the parking garage does not work and I can’t imagine that is suitable for ADA compliance.
We expected more from this hotel, and are sadly disappointed with the way things were handled. When we brought this up to who I assume is the manager, he only offer to refund our parking, and to me this is not a suitable solution for the trouble we have dealt with in a nearly $250-300 hotel room booking. However, now that I wrote this a week after our stay, my parking was charged to my card and I did not get it refunded as the manager told me he would. So not only were we inconvenienced, we were lied to about how the stay was to be made right.

I have a two night stay and the first night I was able to sleep because the air conditioner was set at a higher level because it was a cool night. The next night it was a lot more humid and it was hotter so I made it cooler in the suite but the air conditioner was making such a racket. I did not get any sleep at all. I did tell the front desk people and they really didn’t say anything. They did tell the maintenance guy and he shrugged it off.

Loved this hotel. The balcony views of the beach was exactly what we needed to enjoy our stay and completely relax. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Great location walking distance to Pier. Short drive to other attractions. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Clean room and in excellent shape. Plenty of plug in of different types to charge your phone, watches and other devices.

The room was huge and simply gorgeous. There was a balcony where we could see the beach and a lighted Ferris wheel. The hotel was very clean and the staff was super welcoming and warm. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone that would ask. The only downside is the parking garage is around the condo from the hotel and the elevator was broken in the parking garage.
