Room had a lingering smell

The hotel was not very clean. Our room had a lingering smell so bad that we requested a room change after one night. Customer service was not good. The people at the front desk gave off a don’t care attitude. The telephone number to the front desk doesn’t work if calling from outside. It is impossible to reach someone prior to check in. All around terrible stay.

I am also employee of IHG hotel, I went to check in staff was playing on phone , doesn't even care i was standing there, I ask next day for some cereal from my daughter she was sick staff rold.me they can give it to me and when I told that I also work for same brand they told.me.to go off and leave.
It is very rude and unprofessional staff. They leave desk for almost 40 to 50 min guest been waiting there to check in even I want soda from market place I waited like 46 min and no one came.
Hope owner read this.

Having stayed for one (positive) night at the Holiday Inn Express in Kansas, we were looking forward to our longer stay in Chicago. We knew the hotel was undergoing some renovations, but took the risk; rather wish we hadn't.
The entrance/ground floor/restaurant area was being upgraded, and it did impact the pleasure of our stay. Things on the ground floor were generally messy, and a bit grubby. Most disappointing were the breakfasts: not so much choice, and we had to ask for some items as they weren't on display.
We managed, but it was a shame we had 3 nights there...

I didn't get the room that I reserved-got a normal room and I reserved the extra floor space room. Took a 2 queen rather than king room to get the extra space, and then given a standard room. There was a uneven spot in the bathtub that held water and was stained due to this.
The breakfast was the same both days that we stayed. Sausage links and vegetable egg omelets were the only 2 hot choices. If you at least have the egg and cheese, the cheese can be taken out and you can have the eggs, but with the vegetable, there are pieces throughout so it wasn't an option. Luckily, the pancake machine was working. The attendants kept the cinnamon rolls and other items well stocked.

El personal muy amable y puedes charlar en español, muy atentos y muy buena ubicación.
Pool is cold. Breakfast was very limited. There is train noise constantly.

I would not recommend. The beds are comfortable and the room seemed clean. But it's noisy and breakfast was the worst I've ever seen at a holiday inn express. The pool was too cold for my kids to enjoy.

Rick Johnson was so helpful in all areas along side of his employees.
The Maint. Dept. Even helped me move from one room to.another due to my physical ailment. BALTAZAR and Abe both helped me many times.
Housekeeping Thank All the ladies with all that they do and to the breakfast staff Helen and the rest of the team were always hospitable to me and my husband. Thank YOU guys!

The location was good with plenty of car parking. The room was clean with good condition. Service is bad. They don’t response to your request or they ignore it. You can hear a lot noises during your sleep as people keep talking and discussing within the hotel area

The locations is great, it is in a shopping center with many options for snacks, shopping or in case theirs is something you forgot to pack or in need of. There is a target within walking distance, ihop next door, Krispy kreme, and several other shops near plus a gas station and a Dunkin’ Donuts across the street. The hotel made it easy for us to sleep in and rest after a long road trip. It is under construction but they warn you prior to completing your reservations and it is not in their control. However it sucks that the tv service wasn’t great. When we wanted to sleep but our daughter wasn’t tired enough there weren’t cartoon channel options and the Disney channel offered us not like the usual streaming one I don’t know why but every time she wanted to watch Bluey or any toddler like cartoons they had like teen Disney shows. We couldn’t stream our streaming Disney either, it was “out of service” is what said in the tv.

It’s the end of March with above average temperatures, being in the upper 70’s. Got to our room late, around midnight, room was HOT! Put the thermostat on air conditioning and put it down to 60. We could hear the fan going but the air coming out was like outside muggy humid air. It never cooled down in our room. We all had a very bad night with no sleep.
