Clean Hotel, Comfortable Beds

It was very clean, the comfort level was great. I was disappointed they did not honor my buy 2 nights get the 3rd free coupon. The breakfast should be served until 10am.

BAD FIRST IMPRESSION and WAITING ON FOLLOW-UP

Upon arrival our room was not ready and we were told the "King Bed Two(2) Bedroom" Suite was not available at this Holiday Inn Express and Suites. The first suggestion from the lady at the front desk was to cancel our reservation and find accommodations elsewhere. We told her we only had about 45 minutes to get to our event, we had no other options, and, she still suggested we cancel and seek accommodations elsewhere. We were hoping she would provide or suggest a possible or temporary solution at the hotel, until our room is ready and/or the situation is corrected. If she did not want us there or could not accommodate us, she should have picked up the phone or checked her computer for other Holiday Inn Hotels nearby which might be able to fulfill our needs. She was compounding our stress by being dismissive. She finally offered one room, for my wife and I, and, my brother-in-law (all three in one room) and said to come to the front desk when we get back. When we returned from our event, a different lady was at the front desk and informed us the hotel was full and there were no additional rooms available for my brother-in-law.

When I booked our room, I tried calling the hotel, but, realized towards the end of the conversation we were redirected and I was speaking with central booking. So, I asked some very specific questions about the "King Two(2) Bedroom" Suite I thought I was booking, including, if the second room had a door that could be closed for privacy, and, if there was one or two bathrooms, and, the location of the bathroom if only one bathroom (i.e. which room had the bathroom). The central booking agent assured me there was a door to close which provides privacy between the two rooms, (the agent put me on hold for 5-10 minutes while he said he was checking with the hotel), he was not 100% sure how to answer the bathroom question. Since we had a "King Two(2) Bedroom" Suite as I described above on a previous stay at a Holiday Inn Express in Michigan, I believed I was booking a similar room.

We found out when we got to the hotel while speaking with the front desk, that online, and, central booking representations did not match rooms available at the physical location of the hotel. I find this deceptive and misleading. Also, we arrived two and half hours after check-in time and the room the front desk lady said was being held for us was not ready as promised. We did not cancel prior to arriving, so our room was already paid for according to Holiday Inn Express and Suites Cancellation Policy. We have a confirmation email for the room we booked. An excerpt from the confirmation is below, I cannot include the entire confirmation email since it would violate Holiday Inn Express and Suites "Writing guidelines".

I asked why the available rooms at the property does not match the online availability displayed, the confirmation email description, and, what the central booking agents see on their screens. The lady at the front desk, later in the evening of the first night said, the hotel is aware of the problem, but, the problem has not been corrected and we are not the first customers to run into this issue at this hotel.

Issues we reported with the room and amenities include the bathroom door being warped and hard to close, inadequate ventilation in bathroom, need to open the bathroom door to get the fog off the mirror. A problem for us since we did not have privacy in our room due to my broth-in-law having to stay in our room with us. Also, inconvenient and maybe creepy for other guests if we are standing in the hall to get some privacy in our room while changing, using the bathroom, defogging the mirror, and etc.. Breakfast not a winner, pancake machine not working the first day, little in the way of healthy choices, powdered eggs. Also, an unsafe condition (ice strewn around and piled on the carpet) caused by the ice maker near the entrance to rear parking lot.

We are still waiting on return call from initial follow-up to address issues.

Don't stay here

Not a nice motel. Rooms have a very musky ,damp smell to them. Very sketchy area as well. The carpet and bedding felt very damp. Motel is old and needs updated very bad.

I arrived too early to check in to my room so I had to sleep in my car for the first few hours. Once the doors opened i checked in but the lady said it was still too early to check in but since I traveled far to get to Nashville, she was nice enough to let me check in anyways.

Stay Elsewhere

The part of town seems not the best. The hotel is old and worn. The elevator floor is coming up. The hallways are dark and the entire property smells musty. No good places to eat nearby, decent Irish Pub across the street. Second stay here because I couldn't remember the address to avoid. Fridge in my room did not work, ice machine was a floor below. Check in is down a half dozen stairs and if you need a lift you have to check in the go around to the back of the hotel (outside) and come in for the lift (elevator).
