Ótima localização e vista

Este hotel está em uma ótima localização. Os quartos são super legais. Os funcionários foram sempre simpáticos e cordiais. Com certeza voltarei para reservar minha estadia. A única coisa que eu não gosto é que eles não têm um micro-ondas no local e eles não têm nenhum micro-ondas no quarto para nós usarmos. Além disso, eles também não tinham tábua de passar roupa nos quartos. Mas essas eram coisas sem importância.

O hotel era muito bom e limpo. O único problema que tivemos foi que o chuveiro não era ajustável e a pressão era muito forte para minha filha, e o ar-condicionado estava configurado para funcionar apenas quando alguém estivesse no quarto se movimentando, então o quarto ficou quente quando você saiu e demorou um pouco para esfriar e à noite ficou quente no quarto.

Aproveitei a minha noite no novo VoCo The Shelby Myrtle Beach. O porteiro e a recepção foram acolhedores, o hotel é novo, então as camas eram ótimas, os banheiros muito limpos, a decoração era calorosa e relaxante. A pressão da água era INCRÍVEL! Um dos melhores chuveiros que tomei nas férias! Os produtos de banho combinados com a ótima pressão da água deixou meu cabelo completamente limpo. A área da piscina é relaxante, e os pedidos no restaurante/bar à beira da piscina são um bônus! Aguardo com expectativa a minha próxima visita aqui em breve.

Este é o primeiro hotel em que me hospedei em Myrtle Beach de que realmente gosto e voltarei a estadia novamente. voco The Shelby foi recém-renovado e adoramos todas as atualizações. O esquema de cores é revigorante. Adorei a decoração dos quartos, do lobby, da piscina, do restaurante e até mesmo o carpete do corredor. Tínhamos uma vista da piscina/praia e os móveis da varanda eram bons. A equipe realizou um trabalho espetacular. O manobrista do lado de fora descarregou nosso carro, ajudou a trazer nossas bagagens para cima, todos os pedidos que fizemos foram atendidos e deu petiscos ao nosso cachorro. Eu não poderia ter pedido mais. Nunca tive uma experiência luxuosa em um hotel de North Myrtle Beach tão perto de todos os pontos de interesse. Senti-me totalmente confortável no nosso quarto. O único pequeno problema que tivemos foi o ar-condicionado, e o bar ainda estava fechado.

O voco Shelby em Myrtle Beach parece uma nova adição ao ihg. Embora no momento da minha estadia o hotel ainda não estivesse totalmente aberto (2 prédios laterais não estavam prontos para receber hóspedes e as comodidades externas planejadas não estavam totalmente disponíveis), eles conseguiram nos receber para o Dia da Independência. Alguns pequenos soluços podem ser observados:
- falta forro de lixo no banheiro
- cápsulas Nepresso não eram identificáveis em relação ao que era café ou não
- a máquina de gelo estava vazando
- taxas e impostos de resort ocultos não transparentes nas reservas através do ihg
Contudo, havia algumas coisas para observe que eles se saíram muito bem com:
-Boas-vindas e acompanhamento do bf
-Águas de cortesia no quarto
-Upgrade de quarto de cortesia devido ao status do ihg, mesmo quando o resort do hotel não estava totalmente aberto
-Localização tímida na tranquila North End do Boardwalk, ainda acessível a pé e conveniente
-Deck da piscina chique e atualizado/rio tranquilo e mobília do lounge
-estacionamento sem manobrista é adequado, mas limitado, a menos que você estacione do outro lado da rua
No geral, acho que é um ótimo acréscimo à marca e, quando estiver em pleno funcionamento, deverá ser comparável aos seus resorts concorrentes na Strip.

Our stay at the newly opened Voco Shelby IHG in Myrtle Beach was a complete disaster from start to finish. Every bit of marketing and advertisement for this place is utterly misleading – don’t trust the photos, the descriptions, or the promises. Save yourself the headache and stay far, far away.
We booked and paid for an oceanfront room, only to find ourselves staring at a parking lot. The hotel restaurant? Not open for dinner. “Breakfast tomorrow,” they said. The tiki bar by the pool? Closed. The AC in our bedroom didn’t work. Did I mention the hole in the room door, right next to the lock? Totally reassuring with kids around. Or the towels we requested that took a full day to arrive? We ended up cutting our trip short by a day and were only charged for the nights we stayed – which, I guess, was their idea of a “discount.” Not once did a manager come speak to us. No explanation. No real apology.

The hotel is a renovated older hotel in Myrtle beach. Great location. The opening had been delayed from May 2nd we checked in on July 2nd they had been open for a week. As a diamond elite member we usually get breakfast complimentary. At check in we were informed the restaurant is not yet open. We were not aware or made aware. No complimentary coffee available. The restaurant did open on our 2nd day. They have grab and go and sit down available. The restaurant is nice but overpriced. Expect 50 to 60 for sit down breakfast for 2. The staff and the pool deck are terrific. Staff front desk and pool staff and management are very friendly. Location to restaurants and activities you can walk to most. We had some billing issues at checkout. The IHG App does not permit us to use food rewards for F&B purchases and I was also overcharged on my pet stay. Review your charges before leaving. There is a 25 resort fee and other charges. This will be a nice hotel once all of the hiccups are fixed.

The hotel is still in the process of being renovated. When we booked in mid-May the hotel was scheduled to open May 30. I began following them on Instagram and did not see any posts about a delay in opening. When we arrived on June 27th we were informed at check in that the hotel had just opened three days prior. We were also informed then that the restaurant and pool bar were not open yet. This factor alone may have impacted our decision to change the trip. They had a “pop up bar” at a tiny stand by the pool with beer, wine and only two premixed cocktails which cost about $18 a piece.
We were very displeased not being informed about the delay in opening and the lack of food available on site. Aside from that we also had to make a few calls to maintenance/housekeeping for issues such as the sink leaking onto the floor, lights not working and the room not being serviced. Housekeeping apparently didn’t look closely enough to realize the sign on the door said that we were out and about and would like the room cleaned. Therefore we did not receive our water or coffees for the day and had to ask specifically for assistance the following day to which our requests were not completed.
There were no directions or explanation of what type of coffee was in each pod. For example, after asking it turns out the blue pods were decaf but there was no way to know that. We requested just brown pods that contained caffeine but they still only gave two blue and two brown.
When we resorted to ordering grocery delivery from Target due to the lack of food onsite, the front desk manager did not have a luggage cart available and at the time of delivery the one and only hotel elevator was not working. Therefore I carried a case of water amongst other things up four flights of stairs.
We were told a “coffee bar” was open in the restaurant but it was next door and for a fee. We saw people return with tiny styrofoam cups and therefore did not go as we assumed maybe there would at least be complimentary coffee.
We ended up having to order DoorDash or walk a few blocks in 90+ degree heat to go pick up lunch since the pool bar/restaurant was not open and available for poolside snacks.
There were also no beach chairs available on the hotel property and we were given a postcard for a local company that would have charged us $100 a day for two chairs and an umbrella.
Needless to say, although the hotel has promise, there is still a lot of work to be done especially in customer service and satisfaction. When we checked out the staff was very confused and pulled up the wrong rooms statement and even had snack bar purchase on our account that we never made.
I was also told the bill was about $100 more than I was quoted at check out, although taxes were already included in my quote. They then explained it was a daily resort fee which for some reason is not estimated in your quote online directly from the website. This resort fee is meant to cover “resort” amenities to which I asked what? Because the bar and restaurant were not open, there were no beach chairs, and the website said there were bikes available and a pickleball court coming soon. I was very frustrated to be charged this fee when all it basically covered was the use of the pool.
Overall, my mother and I were hoping for a relaxing girls trip but it was far from that. I was very disappointed in the lack of communication from the hotel prior to our stay explaining the delays in opening and issues with restaurant and rooms etc. We tried to make the most of it but just felt like they should have been more accommodating or understanding (free coffee bar, welcome champagne, etc) anything to help customers feel like they weren’t wasting money staying at a “half resort”. Would not return.
Second Day Open, and It's Ready... Almost.

The Shelby opened for guests only a day prior to my stay, and while it was apparent that it had been recently renovated, it was also apparent that it had been recently renovated; that is, the renovations weren't quite done. There were clearly a number of "punch list" items that hadn't been completed, but almost all of them were cosmetic.
Throughout my stay, it slowly but surely became apparent that this hotel was older and had previously been very run-down. Appeasing my curiosity, I did some Google searching and found unappealing results showing a former independently-run establishment that had outlived its heyday. Based on those photos, I can safely say that IHG has carried out a massive amount of renovations, creating a drastically improved aesthetic, with quality furniture and modern appointments.
Overall, this hotel will do very well once the final renovation checklist is complete. For now, it is charming and tastefully decorated, in a good ocean-front location, and is a fair value. Our stay was pleasant and, despite some things that obviously weren't finished yet, I would consider going back in the future with the assumption that those punch-list items would be completed.
