A perfect storm

We have been IHG members for a very long time, and we even stayed at this very hotel in 2022. This hotel has gone down hill since then. The AC didn't work, the TVs didn't work, we were moved to a much smaller room because our larger room didn't have working AC, the new room had AC at least but was half the size and the tub was not supported (large crack across the edge where it connected to the wall and was sinking on one side). And... house keeping walked in on me naked - they didn't knock. The whole experience was HORRIBLE.

Great location! Metro station Gaite is literally in front of the door. Easy to get to anywhere with a quick Metro ride. Nice neighborhood! Many restaurants within walking distance. My family had a great time staying there and exploring Paris.

I will recommend this hotel especially to people who travel internationally. The location is walking distance from Montparnesse central train station. Lots of restaurants around to eat. The hotel is clean, very friendly staff and great breakfast.

Customer service is amazing, every and each one of the staff demonstrated excellent hospitality and service. The location is slightly far from the attractions other than this everything is perfect.

Friendly Staff, but Discomfort from Broken A/C

We had high hopes for our stay at voco Paris, and while there were some highlights, the overall experience was impacted by issues with the room.

The staff was very kind and helpful—Michael in particular stood out and made us feel welcomed. His friendliness and professionalism were appreciated during a stressful situation.

Unfortunately, our room was extremely hot. The air conditioning was broken, and despite going to the front desk multiple times, a technician was not available to repair it. Eventually, a large fan was brought up, but it was very loud and took up valuable space in the already small room. Even with the fan running constantly, the room remained hot and muggy throughout our stay. We were told there was no option to switch rooms.

The rooms are smaller than what we’re used to in the U.S., but that was expected and not a major issue. The location was convenient with a metro stop right outside the hotel, though it was closed the entire time we were there (which of course is outside the hotel’s control).

Overall, the staff was great and the location has potential, but the broken A/C made it difficult to fully enjoy our time there.

Overall, my inability to appreciate your lovely city of Paris should not reflect on the wonderful stay that was a refuge through the big city hustle that is Paris.

AC does not work

Staff was good, breakfast was good. Room had barely functional AC and was hot/stuffy at night. This seems to be a theme of many Google reviews for the hotel with travelers complaining that the AC works poorly or not at all. Extremely disappointing for the high price to be sweating all night.

Its a very clean hotel. Its close to the metro, making it easy to go anywhere. Lots of restaurants near. The room was also clean and bed was comfortable.

Hot, smelly and unfriendly

Upon arrival at the property, we were greeted and welcomed. We checked in without issue and made our way to the room. That is where our problems began. The room was a sweatbox, stuffy and too warm for comfort. We attempted to adjust the temperature but quickly realized it was useless. So we went downstairs to inquire about a solution. The staff started talking to each other in another language so that it was obvious they were trying to conceal information from us. I found this to be very rude. Then we were given 3 separate excuses as to why the AC did not work in the room. I explained to them that not having air in the summer was not acceptable. We could not even open the window because there were no screens to keep the mosquitos out. We were then told that a staff member would meet us in a few minutes to assist us in moving to another room. We went back upstairs and grabbed our suitcases and waited - and waited and no one came. So then we went downstairs and they just gave us keys to another room. The room we were given did not have soap, towels, or beds made. It also did NOT have air conditioning. At this point we were too tired and just stayed. But every day we stayed was awful. The hallways smelled like garbage and the air never worked. I did not appreciate being lied to. And you'd think they would at least have the decency to offer coffee in the lobby - but no, that was not even offered. I would never recommend this hotel - especially for the price.
