Excellent hotel, reasonably priced, convenient to NYC

Candlewood Suites Secaucus has been my go to hotel for over a decade for trips to NYC, business and pleasure. Great value, free parking, clean rooms/property, friendly staff, plusses across the board. I have never, not once, been disappointed with this property.

The customer service team is beyond amazing and very helpful. They directed us to the best restaurants for breakfast and dinner. They were so friendly. They all deserve a raise and our room was beyond clean and smelled amazing. Thank you Candlewood staff!!

Check in was great but the rooms itself were not. The smell in that room was so bad I had to keep the window open. The smell is still lingering on my clothes it’s just disgusting. I was given febreeze since there were no rooms to move me to. My door key kept messing up I had to get a new one pretty much everyday. Sadly my least favorite stay with IHG.

Roaches At This Facility

There really are roaches in the room I stayed in. Lots of live roaches in Room 306! All the roaches were of different sizes and there was even a live roach in the microwave right under the platen glass that you place your food on. Called the front desk to report roaches and noone answered the phone. Will absolutely NOT recommend except if some serious extermination is done.

This hotel is one of the BEST I’ve ever stayed in. Within the first 5 minutes I was well aware that customer service was their top priority. When I pulled up there was a group having a cookout on the grills at the gazebo. The front desk, housekeeping, and management were in the middle of something behind the desk when I walked in but they immediately shifted their focus to get me into my room. The room was huge, perfectly cleaned, and very welcoming. I feel like the list of amenities on the website doesn’t come close to what this hotel actually offers. The pantry had a ton of snack and drink options and were surprisingly cheap! The next morning I met who I assumed to be a hotel or housekeeping manager in the elevator and she asked how our stay was, how well the room was cleaned, and asked if there was anything she could do for us before we left. There was another guest at the desk asking questions when I just wanted to drop off my keys and leave. She noticed this, turned around, and told me she would check me out herself, and took my keys. Perfect! The only negatives were the sound of guests in the room above us. They had heavy feet but luckily they went to sleep around 10. The other complaint (which I feel the staff would’ve taken care of immediately had I told them about it) was the bottle of body wash in the shower was completely empty. I used the shampoo instead ;)
If I’m ever in this area again I will make a point to stay here again.

I stayed 5 nights and I did not receive a single day of room service. I requested the linen be changed due to child having an accident and I could not get one. Housekeeping told me she could not “legally” enter my room and even asked me how many days I was staying. Sink in bathroom drained slowly. I would not recommend this hotel if you are staying more than one night.

I am enjoying my stay very much with the exception of the awful low speed WiFi. It’s been absolutely awful. As a business person who uses MS Teams, the wifi cuts out during a meeting which is unacceptable and stressful for me. This hotel needs high speed WiFi to attract business people so they feel comfortable working remote from the hotel.

Found a big broken ceiling and a hole on arrival with water dripping into a plastic bucket along the main corridor! Light kept going off in the middle of the night.Please you can do better.
