Inspired by the Golden Age of cocktails and fine drinking, Manhattan is reminiscent of a grand hotel bar, modern yet with a touch of old New York glamour and sophistication. Choose your tipple from artisanal spirits, and classic and forgotten cocktails, meticulously crafted from the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse and a remarkable collection of house-made ingredients, accompanied by gourmet bar bites. Manhattan was recently placed 11th in World’s 50 Best Bars and 8th in Asia’s 50 Best Bars. A curated selection of our cocktails are also available for island-wide delivery and takeaway.

Rusty Cerven, Bar Manager

Hailing from Slovakia, Rusty’s passion began more than 15 years ago when he started working with one of the most respected bartenders and world ambassador of the Aloha philosophy, Stanislav Vadrna. He received his first opportunity as a Bar Manager to tend Paparazzi Bar in Bratislava. In April 2010, Rusty made his foray into the London bar scene when he was invited to join HIX bar and later the renowned Connaught Bar in Mayfair, named World’s Best Bar in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020. Working alongside top mixologist Ago Perrone, Rusty saw the bar through several notable awards at the Tales of the Cocktail competition, such as Best Hotel Bar 2010 and Best Cocktail Bar 2012.

Two milestone achievements for Rusty happened when he won Bols Around The World Champion in 2013, and also as a pioneering member for The Gibson in London which was shortly ranked #6 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2016. During the span of his career, Rusty was also heavily involved in consultancy and development work in US and Mexico, from understanding the production and distillation of spirits to searching for new flavours and ingredients. He also developed a bar program for restaurant La Moderna.

Upon arrival to Singapore, Rusty worked on the opening for the 1880 Member’s Club in Robertson Quay before joining Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford, where he assisted in the opening of SKAI Bar and led the Beverage Program for both hotels and various properties across Accor-managed properties in SEA.

Velvet drapes and shining gold finishes complement unique concoctions made with barrel-aged liquor from the world’s first in-hotel rickhouse. Hand-cut ice and house-made ingredients elevate each creation —rarities like wild cherry bark, dandelion root and rhubarb bitters among them. Settle into the deep leather Chesterfield sofas or take a seat bar-side to sip on craft spirits, classic and forgotten cocktails —here, glamour is served up in both drink and décor.

Adults-only cocktail brunch

Relish a taste of the Big Apple each Sunday with Singapore’s first adults-only Sunday Cocktail Brunch at Manhattan. Indulge in the Milkshake Station which offers three different shake flavours, a selection of dark rum or maple-finished bourbons from the rickhouse, as well as a bar of candies and fruits to garnish. Also on the menu are unlimited craft cocktails, beers, wines and custom-concocted bloody marys and G&Ts alongside a variety of gourmet hot plates (think crepes suzettes, slow roasted lamb, vast ocean spray of freshly shucked American oysters and Maine lobsters, and hand-rolled bagels with house-made cream cheese schmears).

Manhattan private events

Three private rooms offer one-of-a-kind settings for an intimate affair: Hidden behind a “secret” door and lined with ornate marquetry wallpaper tinted in silver blue tones, the Rockefeller Room offers a unique drinking experience for groups of 16-20; the Library, a sophisticated space with timber paneling and lush green accents, is available in conjunction with the Rockefeller Room for parties of 30-35; and the Private Salon welcomes gatherings of 12-14 with Italian plum velvet sofas and tan leather seats amidst hand-tufted wool rugs. The capacity and offerings of our private event spaces are subject to the latest social distancing measures from the Singapore Government.
