Right on the Colorado river frontage, enjoy a 15 mile long hike and bike trail, boat rides and an open air music theatre. Beautiful Lady Bird Lake has plenty of benches and open areas to enjoy the Ausin Nature scene with lots of wild flowers but keep track of where you are because the trail is about 15 miles long. There's also an area around and under the Congress bridge to see the bats at night but bring a flash light for there are no lights on the trail.

Zilker Park is home to Austin City Limits (ACL) music festival. Has boat and train rides. Around the year events including open air drama theatre. Botanical Garden is just around the corner.

Big states deserve big capitol buildings and Texas has the largest in the nation. It was built in 1888 and is a piece of impressive architecture. A visit is a must and they have free tours on regular basis. Visitor parking is a 5 minute walk and it is free on Saturday.
