Although it was a very large bed, it was rather hard and so not all that comfortable. We asked for feather pillows and that did help.
The lack of air conditioning was a bit surprising - not a problem as it was April but I wouldn't fancy the same room in summer. I think the hotel could be due for a refurb as some of it looks rather tired.
The car park was an exercise in precise parking and manoeuvring!
Otherwise, it was all fine and the staff were very helpful and the room was big enough and had all necessary amenities. Breakfast was plentiful and had a good variety of food on offer. The central location was very useful, especially in the evenings.

Great hotel with attentive staff. Made us all feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble...

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RV_123 Central location. comfortable bed
Overall a good stay. My only niggle is that there was quite a lot of noise outside the hotel from air conditioning fans for the exhibition centre next door. The hotel did provide ear plugs and I was able to sleep through it, but I know my wife would not have been happy had she been there and would probably have demanded another room,

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sarahs1964 lovely staff, great breakfast
I booked this hotel as we were attending the Food and Drink show at the HIC which is next door the hotel and it also coincided with my husbands 50th birthday. When we checked in I mentioned that it was a surprise for his birthday and within an hour a handwritten birthday card was delivered to the room which was lovely. The reception staff were very welcoming. The breakfast on the Sunday morning was fantastic, lots of choice and beautifully cooked and presented. The corridors are in need of a bit of a refurbishment (tired carpets) but the room we stayed in was fab.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by akc70 Nice hotel in a convenient location
Next to the Harrogate International Centre, this is a very convenient location for business meetings in the area. It's a short stroll into the town centre also.
Hotel room is modern and clean. I like the little finishing touches like complimentary bottled water in the fridge. Earplugs were provided also though the room was quiet and there's no need for the earplugs. The pillows were not too comfortable though - so didn't sleep too well and ended up with stiff neck the next day.

Our first stay in a Holiday Inn - it was ok not surprising or special. Compared to other similar hotels we use it seemed a bit dated and drab in the room - needs a brighter cleaner feel to it. Eveything worked well and was clean. The breakfast cost £10 for two and was a bargain.
Parking was difficult due to very narrow spaces with pillars everywhere. We would stay again but it didnt make us want to seek out H I's in future.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PhilDoh Mediocre interpretation of what a Holiday Inn should be
Hotel is a great location for the conference centre, but quality of rooms and standard of the rooms is distinctly 1980's. Could do with a modernisation program, and the breakfast is a time warp. Coffee is best avoided. Better option is new Italian deli across the street.
Hotel does not match the modern fresh look of other Holidays Inns I have stayed in over the past few months
Maybe the managers of this hotel should go and stay in a Holiday Inn Express to get inspiration. This may improve the standards!
