We stayed one night , the staff were friendly and beds comfortable and we had breakfast before checkout. Everything was fresh. Really close to the beach and restaurants. Rooms are just a bit outdated. I would stay there again though

I stayed for 2 nights for my birthday here. Room was clean and maintained. The main issue was the air conditioning. I couldn’t sleep both the nights. The AC system was not working properly at all. I had set the temperature to 18 degrees and suddenly in the middle of the night it started to heat up the room. We were sweating in the middle of the night. I called the reception around 2 AM. Someone responded my first call and told me to turn off and on. But it didn’t work at all. Again I called them, they were just ignoring the call. Not sure if this is the way they treat the customers. I had planned few activities during the days but couldn’t sleep both the nights which spoiled my entire trip itself

I stayed at voco Gold Coast with my family for 8 nights, and unfortunately, my overall experience was quite disappointing, especially considering this is an IHG property.
1. Pillow issue and sleep quality
Good sleep is very important to us, particularly because we were traveling with a young child. From the very first night, I requested three latex pillows. Unfortunately, the night shift Asian staff member I spoke with did not seem to understand my request. After clarifying that I simply needed a harder pillow, he assured me it could be arranged. However, what delivered to our room after waiting for a long time were just two same soft pillows which were already provided in the room.
Throughout our 8-night stay, I continued to request firmer pillows almost every evening. Shockingly, until the very last night, we had only received one pillow in total that was slightly firmer. For three people staying together, having only one suitable pillow over eight nights significantly affected our sleep quality, including that of my child.
2. Missing personal cutlery after housekeeping
On August 4, after housekeeping service, I returned to the room and found that my personal mini stainless steel spoon and knife had gone missing. It appeared that housekeeping staff mistakenly assumed these were hotel items and took them away.
When I raised this issue with the front desk, the same staff member explained that housekeeping only started work at 7am, so I would need to wait until the next morning for a response. Unfortunately, even by the time I was checking out the following day, there was still no proper explanation. Another staff member suggested that my items had probably been mixed in with the hotel’s restaurant cutlery. She offered to find replacements from the restaurant, but after a long wait, what was provided was only one old standard knife and one old standard spoon that did not match what I had lost.
Although the cutlery was not expensive, they were of a smaller size that I was accustomed to using, and it is not easy to find replacements of the same kind elsewhere. The way the situation was handled — with little care and no sense of responsibility — was very disappointing.
Overall
While the issues themselves may seem small, the lack of effective service, attention to detail, and genuine care left me with a very negative impression. For a hotel under the IHG brand, I expected much higher standards.

I would give zero stars if possible. My stay at voco Gold Coast was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
The room was tired, underwhelming, and absolutely not worth the price they charge. The service was painfully slow and unhelpful, but the most humiliating part was the “welcome” screen in my room that incorrectly addressed me as Miss/Ms instead of my professional title, Doctor. When I raised this, staff laughed instead of correcting it. That kind of arrogance and disrespect is beyond unprofessional—it was degrading and deeply embarrassing, especially while staying in a professional capacity.
Parking was confusing and poorly communicated, noise from outside was constant, and nothing about the stay came close to matching the hotel’s advertised standards. I left disgusted, out of pocket, and forced to book elsewhere at full price just to salvage my reputation in front of peers.
This experience was not only disappointing, it was damaging. Nothing about voco Gold Coast lived up to its name or reputation, and I would strongly warn others against staying here.

I really love the hotel come every month. The rooms are nice and clean with good views of the Gold Coast. Food at the Social Bar is tasty and convenient. Shoutout to the Rio and the Asian reception lady who greeted me you guys are very friendly each time.
Terrible experience, serving cold poached eggs.

Breakfast was awful. Cold food and tepid coffee, massive queue every morning. I have feedback on the first morning and second morning Daniel was amazing and ensured our breakfast was hot. However, it was not sustained the rest of the week was exactly the same tepid or cold food on cold plates.
When I asked to speak to the manager, she said she would get back to me because she was busy, six hours later no contact from the manager, so I called again and spoke to a different manager, no sustainable improvement.

Very enjoyable stay for two nights. The dining facilities were excellent and reasonably well priced if you were after fancy dining. Breakfast was delightful with plenty of options. Room was comfortable, even if the bathroom was a little tied and dated. Would have been better with better pillows.

Had a great stay at the voco Gold Coast. The hotel is modern, clean and in a great location. A special thanks to Iryna at the front desk — her service was outstanding. She was friendly and professional.

This hotel continues to be of the highest standard; the staff are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is excellent & the restaurants are superb. The Social House bar & restaurant is also a great place to watch sport on the big screen. Will be booking again.

I was pretty disappointed with our most recent stay, on the first night of our stay there was no hot water, when I called reception the lady did not have an answer for us but told us she would call back right away once she spoke to her manager (it was after 9:30pm, 10 degrees outside and I was very sick so was not going to have a cold shower) after 35 minutes we had still not been called back so I called the front desk and she told me there was nothing she could do but she would call as soon as it was fixed yet we were not contacted again. I understand how frustrating it is when things go wrong that are out of your control but we were paying over $550 per night and when I asked to change rooms she was very hesitant and pretty much said no. I was just expecting a little more 'care'... then the next day when I could shower I found a long black piece of hair in the tub (I have blonde hair and my partner has short hair so it was neither of us), the grout in the bathroom was also really dirty and mouldy. We also found some tooth floss from a previous guest next to my bed on the floor and when we got out the spare blanket, there was someone else's used bandaid stuck to the blanket. I am not normally the type of person to complain but the last time I stayed before this there was someone else's toenail clippings on the floor and we were overcharged... I mentioned all of this at checkout and the lady did not seem very receptive at all and did not offer to comp anything. Obviously you can't expect to get free things but when you are paying that much money for a standard room and have that many issues, I personally would have offered some service recovery in this moment. I have also emailed all of the photos I took to the front desk, the receptionist said she would follow up with me over email after a few days once she has a chance to speak with housekeeping but I am yet to receive any email from her. It's just unfortunately a very disappointing experience. However I will say, the man who checked us in was super lovely and friendly (I can't remember his name) but he had a very welcoming attitude which was nice.

What a fantastic resort at Voco Gold Coast? It has everything you need for a great time on the Gold Coast plus a world class restaurant in Cliffords. Beautiful food and service. Check in is easy and all staff and management are so friendly and professional. Waves breakfast buffet is to die for. Get Sam or Andre to cook you an omelet, you won't regret it! Dylan and Jarred are wonderful managers and will help make your stay a great one. You'll want to go back! And there's a tram stop right at the front door if you need a ride somewhere. So easy and cheap! Perfect place to stay on GC! 10 out of 10! Well done Voco!
