Over enjoyed my stay at Avid. Amenities and location are great. Staff provided great customer service. This location is near a park, veterans memorial and lake which makes for a great place to visit. Plus it's cost is in budget

Three red flags; 1) a $50 hold was placed on my credit card at check-in, this is typical. During the night another hold of $113.73 was placed on the same card. At check out in the morning, nobody could explain the rational for the 2nd charge. 2) a $6.26 "energy fee" was charged against my card, again nobody could explain the rational or justification. There was no prior notification or disclosure on the website or at check-in. 3) When I contacted the hotel directly 3 days after check out to inquire about the second "hold" I was told that this was up to me to settle with my bank. I replied, how can I settle with my bank when you placed the hold. Then I asked about the "energy fee", I was told that is a charge. Then the person hung up on me.
I contacted IHG corporate on Tuesday regarding this issue. A kind person told me that a case number had been assigned and I would be contracted within 48 hours. I waited 72 hours and called the corporate office. By midnight of the 2nd day, the holds had been removed. The person I was speaking with found the case number and proceeded to tell me that holds are routine. She could explain why the irregular charge of $113.78 was applied. When asked about the "energy fee", she could not explain the justification nor rationale for the charge. I asked why this fee was not disclosed at check-in or stated as a fee on the website. Bear in mind, this is on top of the 21% taxes charged for the room. When I mentioned the attitude I received from the hotel clerk on Tuesday, the corporate representative hung up on me.
Clean room, Comfortable bed, quiet stay

We were just traveling from state to state, but I do remember that the bed was comfortable and I slept well so it must've been quiet as well.

Since the stay was at the end of a long traveling day, the room as is was just what we needed. The fitness center was in good condition and it gave us a chance to unwind after the long, traveling day. If I were to spend more time at the motel, I would have checked into a Holiday Inn Express.

The customer service should improve front desk busy telling about themselves. Front desk employees need better training on how to answer guests questions and not just say they can't help. The new manger has their job cut out for them. The hotel floor need cleaning, soap and shampoo dispensers in bathroom empty. Hotel fine if you are looking for only basics but has a way to come in overall improvement.
Terrible beds, lingering dog odor

Had 2 rooms for 1 night as a stop during family vacation.
Not impressed, beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Room had a lingering pet odor. Bathroom light was on motion sensor and turned on in middle of night causing trouble getting back to sleep.
Will not consider the avvid brand hotels again.
Extremely dirty and poorly managed.

We were not greeted as IHG members upon arrival. The lady working the desk was by herself with about 7 or guests waiting to check in. The property is new but was very dirty. Trash cans from breakfast were over flowing (we checked in late afternoon), tile floors were not mopped, no ice buckets, elevator were stinky and the SS doors were dirty, carpet on the 2nd floor appeared to not have been vacuumed in weeks. The most alarming part of the experience was opening the door to our room that had not been cleaned from the previous guest. In 45 years of traveling, this was a first. Extremely disappointed in our first stay in an AVID.

Great Place to Stay in North Platte Nebraska

We had a very nice stay at the Avid in North Platte Nebraska. We stop here frequently as we go back and forth to see family members in the Midwest. We're always looking for who has the best deal on a very nice room and there are two or three very nice hotels. My wife said that she'd decide which was best based on the breakfast experience. She loved how the layout of the Avid was arranged, with a combination of typical grab and go and hot breakfast. The items were good quality and care was taken to be sure that they were arranged nicely. So--Avid is now #1 in North Platte for us!

Overall one night stay was nice. We looked at staying at the Marriott (we always book there) but being $350 a night we looked elsewhere.
We found the Avid hotel and reviews were great besides the pricing/hidden fees.
Staff was amazing. Rooms are smaller than others but we just sleep so it was perfect. Clean rooms. Clean showers and a mini fridge if you want.
Pricing was great but they do have fees after you book (look at the fine print y'all)
Overall stay 4/5 and I will do it again.

We were warmly welcomed to this hotel after a long drive. The desk clerk, Kelli, was ready for our arrival and gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner. We love the cleanliness and efficiency of AVID Hotels!
