Enjoyable Business Travel Stay

As my first time in the Kalamazoo area, this hotel is located far enough away from interstate, so noise level was good, also lots of shopping and dining options at this cut off and the previous cutoff from interstate. Hotel was clean and room was comfortable. Only item that needs updating is the Wi-Fi was spotty if you went out the front doors for some fresh air.

The hotel staff needed to call the manager for everything. The gave away rooms that had confirmed stays.

The first assigned room had broken HVAC. Don't ask me to wait for maintenance, assign me another room immediately. Once that was settled, our three night visit was pretty good. We were greeted with member's cookies and bottles of water. Nice! Good breakfast choices, but staff needs to keep an eye on the milk expiration dates. TV channels very limited.
Rooms were neat and clean. Hotel staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was good with varieties to choose from. Flo at breakfast exceptional.

Absolutely terrible experience. We arrived later at night as we had to move our son out of his college dorm. When we checked in for the reservation that we had already made and paid for, they told us that the hotel was sold out, and they did not have a room for us. We obviously questioned this because we had already made a reservation. Isn’t that the point of a reservation, that they hold a room for you? There were numerous other groups that were also turned away at the same time. Interestingly, a couple was able to check in in the midst of them declining numerous other groups from a stay. When we questioned why that happened, there was no answer.
The front desk worker was completely clueless, lacked any customer service skills, lacked any empathy or emotion.
We obviously asked for a manager, but we were just giving a card with contact information. We immediately reached out to the manager and did not hear back until about 48 hours later. Unfortunately, the assistant manager that reached back out was completely clueless about this situation and did not even read our initial concern.

Weary nice place to stay. The breakfast was great, well appointed, and Flo was very nice and did a beautiful job keeping the breakfast area inviting.

Overall was a great stay. Other then dirty towel was left in our room upon arrival and spoiled milk

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We were greeted with a smile from any staff member we encountered. The facility was clean and well lit. The room was clean and incredibly spacious. The beds were comfortable and it was a very quiet environment. We would definitely stay here again!

We visit Kalamazoo often and this was our first stay at this holiday inn express. The check was great, the staff so accommodating, the tv channels are ample and the bed was so comfortable. Great water pressure and lots of options for breakfast! We will definitely be staying here from now on.

I was there for medical issues. I requested at booking what I needed for my room. Everything from walking into the hotel to checking out, It was Very UNPLEASANT. I left very upset and anxiety filled.
