Usually stay here while traveling across country. If not for the young man Drew at the front desk I'd probably give a lessor score. First of all, how do you expect 1 person to handle numerous positions and keep customers/guests satisfied. Upon arriving all was good. Room seemed fine. Went out for dinner. Returned to a non functioning tv. After a few attempts to fix, I decided to just change rooms.
Well whoever cleaned that room should be fired or retrained. Top and fitted sheet had dried blood, still red so most likely not cleaned. So not to bother the young man again ( and having on pjs) I pulled off the sheets and used the bedding in the closet for the smaller guest pull out. yes they were small but I made do.
Bed skirt had unidentifiable marks.
Shower had a foot print.
A few towels had stains, hint they're white, very noticeable.
Luckily I had lysol wipes.
Wonderful hotel. Will return.

Wonderful, quiet, clean hotel in the middle of downtown Des Moines. Friendly and courteous staff and reception. Excellent continental breakfast included, with cheese omelets and bacon. Will definitely be coming back.

Uma equipa super simpática que está ao seu dispor. Excelente localização em East Village para entretenimento, vida noturna, a uma curta caminhada do capitólio do Iowa. Perto da interestadual e do centro da cidade. Pequeno-almoço gratuito e jantar incluídos, incluindo cerveja! Hotel novo e super limpo - toda a bola de cera - altamente recomendado!
Decent for long stays

The room and bedding were comfortable. The thermostat functioned properly. The bathroom was maintained, although the shower needs attention and the sink drained slowly. Breakfast was adequate but needs dairy free alternatives. One morning everyone showed up at the same time and there was not enough seating. Every employee I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Internet was frustrating - at times, the signal was dropped or slowed to the point of uselessness. The elevators worked. The location is fantastic - right across the river and in the heart of the east side. We walked everywhere.

Staff at night was friendly. Tv in bedroom didnt work closed the door in the bedroom and then only half of the folding door opened back up. Was told by girl on night shift I would receive reward points and have not seen them yet. Said something in the morning when I checked out and the lady could of cared less.

We arrived with three children after a fairly long drive. Check-in parking was convenient, and we were checked into our room right away. Our SUV with rooftop carrier was too tall to ascend the parking ramp, but there was room for us in the first level because staff allowed us to use the one open spot, which was employee of the month parking! They also advised that a bunch of people were checking out the following morning, so sure enough we had no further issues getting a spot. They were very kind and had great empathy for a traveling family.
The breakfast bar was amazing, well stocked with plenty of variety and lots of room to roam and eat. Staff were very friendly, even for a messy family with kids like us.
The suite was fantastic. Central living area and kitchen, with rooms on either side. Highly recommended for children. It had value without feeling cheap in any way.
The cleaning staff were wonderful. We felt cared for and served by everyone at the hotel. It was also a safe area, which is important.
My mother worked in the lodging industry for decades doing everything from back office work to cleaning - so I know what to look for. This was a great experience and I would 10/10 recommend for business or leisure travelers, and we would certainly stay here again!

This was the best hotel I ever stayed. Comfortable bad, silent room, very friendly staff, tasty breakfast and even free beer.

The staff is always a pleasure to work with and the hotel is always clean. This Staybridge is close to Downtown and has easy access to some local restaurants, brew houses and great Cupcakes.
