Poorly trained staff and numerous errors

Check-in - Concierge advised us that it is possible to check-in at the exec lounge (Spire Ambassador here) - It was not possible and the exec lounge attendant said she could not do this as was new and untrained.
Referred back to main reception check in. - Was seen fairly quickly after making my displeasure clearly known to concierge, and checked in by (Davide I think).
Room was very nice and bed comfortable.
Breakfast on day 1 in the exec lounge (arrived approx 30 mins before end of service) Numerous items all gone or not available. Managed a reasonable breakfast of sorts but not our first choices with a number of items unnavailable. Operatives on duty seemed non plussed and non-committal about the issues! i.e. NO scrambled egg, scrappy bacon. etc.
Breakfast day 2 was better in terms of item availability.
During our stay, housekeeping did NOT replenish the english breakfast tea bags in the room. We did call down for some more and the operative brought us a selection of teas, NONE of which were EBT!! Another call to explain this error and eventually after well over an hour we received some EBT bags.
At final check-out there was a very big queue and we eventually had to place the room keycard with a hispanic female operative and ask that the final checkout invoice is e.mailed to me as we needed to catch a train.
She looked at me like I had just landed from Mars and was almost dismissive in attitude. Possibly due to a language barrier?
The requested final room invoice did not arrive and some days later, I did phone the hotel for a copy to be sent to me.
This duly arrived and when I came to cross check things when my credit card statement arrived, I saw that we had been charged DOUBLE the advised charge for access to the executive lounge... We were told at check-in that the TOTAL charge for the executive lounge would be £65 for access for the whole stay for both of us. I DID double check by asking (Davide I think) if that was the TOTAL charge and he said yes... in the final event, we were charged this twice.
All together, it made for a significantly MORE expensive weekend which was supposed to have been mostly on IHG points.
We DO very much like the Intercontinental O2 as a hotel, but unless the overall level of customer service, timely and efficient check-in and check-out and accuracy in charges stated where necessary, does improve significantly, I doubt we'll be staying again.

Lovely stay, Excellent Lounge experience

Lovely stay at IC O2, lovely room and staff very polite and accommodating.
Market Brasserie food was excellent. Fillet steak here is always wonderful and always cooked perfectly.
Club Lounge experience was brilliant. We were looked after by Ellen-Marie whom was lovely and made the lounge all that more special for us - she was very professional and friendly making sure we had everything we needed. We hope to see her again on future stays. Great selection of food and drink during the lounge club times.

A stay of two halves

Arrival was disappointing, receptionist seemed distracted and off hand, with no loyalty club recognition or usual warm welcome

Allocated a club room but no club room benefits allowed without further payment - so not much of an upgrade
Arrived at room to view a tray full of used F&B on full view, not pleasant. This led us to wonder how clean the room would be.
On checking more uneaten food found in the fridge
So much for IHG way of clean policy
Reported the problem are were re located to another room but little in the way of an apology and welcome amenity items did not follow
That is the first half

Second half was an improvement with afternoon tea and evening drinks very good, staff here were much more welcoming and constantly checking we were happy with everything. Breakfast was OK but as usual with buffets the "hot" food was not but other items good, service again good

Overall just an OK stay not up to usual intercontinental standards or previous stays here, hence the low experience ratings

Very dissapointed very much standards have dropped

We stayed here every year since 2016 and used to love this hotel
This visit was very disspointing from restaurants, to the failure of staff to answer phones so much so that we had a flood in our room and noone answered the phone luckily my husband knew how to turn the water off or it could have been a catastrophe if it had been a fire it Could have been awful, noone picked up,the phone on several occasions during our stay

, the room had one bar of soap that we had to use in two bathrooms ridiculous, the towels had seen better days, the breakfast was cold when it arrived and room service the night before the drinks delivered we had no bottle opener overall such a dissapounting. Stay and I suggest your star rating is reassessed as at present this hotel is behaving like a 4 start hotel not a 5 star hotel as it used to be.

a few problems at check . I think the staff were quite new. The young lady who checked us in was very nice, but did not greet us as Ambassador or Spire members. No welcoming points or drinks offered. We did receive our upgrade.We had booked 3 different stays paid for stay free nights stay and an ambassador weekend stay. took a lot of explaining and still had to have our keys re cut every day.
Although this stay was not as good as our previous stays we do realise that testing times for all with the currant situation. It has to be said that the bar staff that we had in the clipper bar was very good . still no welcombe points .

Very close to O2

The reception staff need training in customer service and the hotel needs to staff the hotel sufficiently when there are events on at the O2 so that clients experience the service expected of a 4/5 star hotel. We were checked in to a twin room two grades below what we booked which took over an hour to resolve without apology or explanation and subsequently we were late for our event.

Bad experience

Well where do I start,
Booked hotel as next to o2 concert venue. Nice and convenient I thought, but no , as I arrived at the barrier to park my car, I was told car park was closed due to a private function. I was not happy and I had to park in car park 2 which is quite a walk away. On check in I said to staff why didn’t you e mail me to let me know car Park was shut and they only knew of this that morning. I tryed to book rooftop bar for the evening but was told that was shut also.
Also in room coffee machine didn’t work
A five star hotel should not be behaving like a two star, I won’t be staying there again,
Holiday inn down the road next time for me

Welcomed arrival and safe experience

Upon booking the stay at the hotel I was greeted with lovely telephone service and information I required.
Upon arrival we were welcomed by all and had a lovely greeting and once again given accurate information about the hotel and its facilities.
Entering our room was just lovely and extremely clean with a lovely welcome on our TV screen.
Spacious rooms and bathroom was so clean and of high standard.
Sleep was slightly disturbed but thibk that was more me begin tried than the actual bed as it was a huge bed with plenty of space for comfort.

Great location, great lobby.
Cheated on lounge access booked before arrival as part of room. Lounge not even open, and was not informed when checking in. Still no response on refunding for this.
Broken shower. I had to chase and chase and chase.
Breakfast pretty good, although disappointed by the omelette, having been told to sit down like a school child and wait 10 mins to order it.
Bed super comfy, great views.

Amazing Hotel!

First time at this hotel and it was amazing! The hotel was clean with gorgeous Christmas decorations and a beautiful Christmas tree too.
Atilla at front desk was welcoming and friendly. He was accommodating and gave the best customer service. The room was clean, bed comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. The view from the room was also very nice.

Breakfast in the morning was great, with a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks.

Will definitely come back again and would recommend anyone to stay here.
