A historic cultural landmark on the banks of the Fuhe and Nanhe Rivers in Jinjiang District, Chengdu, sits at their confluence. Originally built in the Zhengyuan era of the Tang Dynasty under the supervision of Wei Gao, Military Governor of Western Sichuan, it was later reconstructed during the Northern Song Dynasty as a key ferry terminal in ancient Chengdu. Though destroyed in the late Southern Song Dynasty, it was restored to its Tang-Song architectural style by the Chengdu government in 1989
