I recently spent two weeks with my family in Barcelona, staying at the Crowne Plaza. Barcelona was great, as was the hotel - mostly. Most of the time, most of the staff were helpful and friendly, but we just couldn't rely on the service. On a couple of occasions, when issues were raised with reception, we received a very nice letter and gift from the manager, which went a long way way to making up for the failures, but it just would have been more pleasant if we had not had to raise the issues in the first place. Each day it was a lottery as to whether we would have our complimentary refreshments renewed - that was one source of frustration - I am a regular hotel user and most hotels manage to consistently replace used teabags etc - it can't be that difficult to arrange ! On another occasion we needed some maintenance and the receptionist promised someone would be sent - but in fact nothing was done until I chased it. Its a shame because it took the edge off what otherwise was a very enjoyable stay. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped, we were well looked after in many respects, just not consistently.

A fantastic hotel located in an excellent location in Barcelona.
As a Platinum Ambassador I was greeted with warmth and courtesy and provided with a 5 STAR service.
Sandra and her team at reception took care of our every need. We upgraded to Club Lounge and the food ,drink and breakfast there were fantastic.
We were offered mobile wifi for our visits out with hotel and this service was inexpensive and allowed us access to internet whilst enjoying the city shopping.
The new gym will open soon and this will even more enhance a visit to this "home from home". Thanks to Sandra and her team we will visit again soon.
