Small doubles as standard!

Hello we recently stayed at your hotel to visit Birmingham Christmas Market admittedly we did not make use of many of your facilities but the only two things we used were disappointing. The bed size, a small double! When we queried with receptionist as we thought maybe we had mistakenly been given a business single room we were told "that all the beds were a standard size in all the double rooms". It's the first time I have stayed in a large Hotel with such small beds.

We asked for extra tea and never received them, we managed to purloin some from chamber maid next morning.

We did not use breakfast facilities as we are not keen on the sterile buffet breakfasts served in most large hotels nowadays. However if this is not the case in your hotel may be a marketing point as we did just assume maybe incorrectly. And the cost at £44 seems a bit excessive.

Convenient location, quiet and comfortable

Friendly helpful staff. Quick, efficient check-in and out. Good location for overnight in city centre. Room a little bit dark, plus an extra easy chair would have been helpful. Good lighting in bathroom good quality toiletries. Would stay again.

1st Birmingham visit

Hotel is of a good standard, hallway carpets a bit dated, lobby, bar and restaurant are good.

Only poor experience was 1st morning breakfast room service did not arrive, order was still hanging on the door the next morning, so the 2am last collection was not done.

Restaurant in the evening only opened at 6:30pm, our trip to the Hippodrome for a show at 7:30pm resulted in us having to find a restaurant nearby very quickly!
