Most uncourteous front desk manager

I travel extensively and am Platinum member of other very large Hotel chain (does not let me post if I include the brand). Since this Hotel was closer to my customer locations, I decided to try this (wanted to avoid Istanbul rush hour Traffic).

The good -

1. Clean rooms. Hotel is new and is well kept. Felt nice to walk in to this Hotel.
2. Very close to my customer locations. I can walk.

The Bad -

1. Lot of confusion since the Hotel is new. Processes are either not set and/or communicated. Lot of confusion among staff.
2. Low on staff. Number of guest seems to be low (Just my read). When I went to gym/pool at 7:30 am, there was no one there and I had to find switches to turn lights on.

The Ugly -

Some background here might help. The Hotel only has dry cleaning and ironing (“pressing” as they call it) service. I asked them if “pressing” would include washing and ironing, after checking with someone, they confirmed it did not.

Based on that, later that day I went down to reception to ask them if they could confirm if one of the malls near the Hotel has such services (malls in Istanbul normally have laundry shops). The front desk staff after discussing with someone told me that they provide this service at the Hotel and washing and ironing was included in their “pressing” service. It was a mistake that it was not clearly communicated to me earlier. Based on that I gave my clothes to Hotel to wash and iron.

Next day at 10am, as I was on my way to client meeting, I stopped by reception to ask for a taxi and they informed me - by the way, washing is not included in pressing and I would have to pay for dry cleaning. Since I did not have time to deal with this, I told them if they cannot wash and iron the clothes within pressing service, they should put the clothes back in my room.

Later that evening I talked with front desk manager just to explain him the mess up. To my surprise this guy started accusing and arguing with me. In spite of all the drawbacks and issues with this Hotel, one thing I would not not have expected is a uncourteous front desk manager who instead of understanding the issues guests are facing and providing appropriate help, instead, started arguing. What a strange attitude of this Hotel Front Desk Manager?

On the first column you may see the prices for Dry Cleaning on the second column you may see the prices for Pressing. When the guest deliver a product for cleaning, our laundry company checks and decides to do washing or dry cleaning according to the material of the product since there is no rate difference between dry cleaning and laundry treatment. nice reception, lobby with attached bar/lounge, friendly and helpful staff, nice and very clean room with all standard items you need, prompt room service, was not crowded since it is 2 months in business. only disadvantage is it is in asian part since most of actions are in european part
