Not Up to CP Standards

I stayed at the hotel for meetings the last week of February after Mardi Gras so was expecting things had quieted down and service would be good. First the good: location (if you want Bourbon Street access / Canal Street access) and friendly staff (or so I found them). The bad: the first room I received was so bad I went downstairs and complained after two hours. I believe in my recollection that is a first for me and as you see I travel a great deal of the time. The elevator noise was so bad I couldn't hear on a conference call and the bathroom was so dirty I honestly was disgusted; I wiped my finger across the sink and was appalled while the mold on the shower was easily fixed with some bleach right? Oh did I mention I have the highest level of status with IHG you can have and have already made Platinum again already in 2015. So frankly if this is the best they can do, even for their most loyal customers, what they must do to joe shmoe off the street must be incredible. They did move me to another room which was slightly better than the last, but not by much. Did I mention the room service tray of my next door neighbor in the new room that sat in the hall for 18 hours? No joke, 18 hours. Too many other great options in New Orleans combined with a property that doesn't value quality service and facilities; will be hard pressed to stay here again. Sad as generally have had great experiences at Crowne Plaza properties around the world. I do have pictures but somehow CP site won't take due to pixel size.

Staff worked quick, professional, and efficiently to get us settled.
I stayed in the property when it was brand new and now, some 12+ years later. It's still a great hotel with a perfect location.
Glass rather than plastic would be nice. Feather pillows would be nice. Great stay though.

I came in for a conference event. I was suppose to stay 6 nights but checked out early. Room smelled, carpet dirty. Bathroom dirty and old. Ironing board had food on it so could not press my suit. I left it out for someone to notice. Totally ignored. Front desk rude, incompetent. Lost my fedex package with a credit card in it even though signed for it. Had I based my time in New Orleans on this hotel, would never come back. Had a much better experience at the Q

the lobby is spacious.
