I communicated with the front desk on several occasions about loud noise from the bar located on the property, and was shrugged off, stating that they would do something about it. The bar was open until midnight, and the noise would continue until 1-2 AM sometimes, as the bar patrons would remain in the hotel lobby and continue to create noise. due to the open floor plan, you could hear this from any level. I stayed almost three weeks, as I normally do when I travel to Chicago, and not once did I receive any kind of "smiling star" treatment. Generally the staff was abrupt, uninterested in listening to concerns and didn't recognize that I was a business traveler. The three different weekends (in a row) I was there, there was always at least 2 large events, weddings / conventions / etc. There was almost always a line at the front desk to speak with anyone. I am a Platinum Elite level member at another hotel chain, and stayed at Holiday Inn because the facility looked like a great place to start staying due to its location close to the public transportation. I was not compensated at all for my troubles, and was simply told that this activity, which was loud enough for me to hear conversations while inside my room, were "normal" and due to the bar activity. They stated on several occasions that they had "security on staff" to handle these issues as they occurred. My observations is the security staff stood there and let them get out of hand. For the price I was paying, I consider this response completely unacceptable. They made no effort to resolve or compensate me for the inconvenience. Based on this stay, and the reactions by staff to my concerns, I don't know that I will ever choose to stay at a Holiday Inn again. I'm traveling approximately 3 out of every 4 weeks through the year, and have come to call many hotels "home"... This hotel is a extreme exemption from this. I have never felt farther away from being accommodated like a "home away from home" as I have in this experience. I urge someone to contact me and explain why my experience isn't the normal. On a more positive note, the facility was very nice, room accommodations were acceptable. TV channels were very lacking (thank goodness Chicago has alot to go see), the pool / fitness center were top notch. The restaurant had a lack of options for food, forcing me to leave the hotel for meals. Facility was clean, everything worked, housekeeping was excellent at working around my schedule which was crazy at times. Thanks for the opportunity to say something to someone other than a staff member, as they clearly weren't interested in my concerns. 21. November 2014

The hotel itself was adequate, skimpy on in room coffee service, no ply toilet paper. Cumbersome ingress and egress from entry level to reception entry on 15th floor then a different bank of elevators. 20. November 2014
Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Overall great stay! Room was very spacious and clean. Great view of the city. Desk as well as extra furniture. Pool was nice as well. Lobby is a great sight. You can see all floors from the lobby and it has a beautiful waterfall. The ONLY possible thing I can think of to say is that the buffet breakfast is pretty pricey. $21 per person. yikes. It was delicious, but still pretty expensive for a breakfast. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend. 20. November 2014

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by amazing views Even if it's just for a class of sparkling water, be sure to take some time to relax in the Cityscape Bar. It has a great view of the river and, yes, the Cityscape! I got ungraded (I think) to wonderful room facing directly south. Be sure to ask for a room in the direction you prefer to have a view of. Great lobby area, with towering atrium. Great Stay! 19. November 2014
