Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Adequate Stopover We booked as a stopover after a days travelling, and it was we have to say adequate for that. The interior was tired but there was evidence of modernisation taking place and our bathroom was new. Dinner was OK and decent value for what we paid and it was a quiet place and our sleep was not interrupted. Decor in the room was dated but it was clean and we would stay there again. 19. April 2015
Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by A relaxing break We were impressed with the hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. We had an excellent room with plenty of space for a family. The hotel facilities were very good and we could relax. The breakfast and evening meal were of a high quality with plenty of choice for the adults and kids. We could like to thank the hotel for a great stay and when we go back to this part of Scotland again we will not take the chance with another hotel but stay at this one. Thank you. Francesca 16. Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Relaxing Stopover We use the HI East Kilbride fairly often and always enjoy our stay, use of the fitness facilities and walks with our dog in the local area. The staff are always friendly and although the fabric of the place is getting a little tired it is undergoing refurbishment and is always comfortable. We did discover 2 old cigarette ends by one of the widows in our room, which was surprising, and the front desk staff apologised profusely and provided extra points recompense. Otherwise we had good room service and a splendid night's sleep - the bathroom was newly refurbished and very well presented. 14. April 2015

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Excellent service and good leisure facilities Working away from home regularly, this hotel has become my second home. The gym and pool means there is something to occupy guests on an evening and the food is of a high quality, if limited variety. The hotel has been rather cold over the winter and the heating does not seem to be adequate, however, the staff (how are excellent) did provide me with additional blankets which is much healthier than having central heating blasting all night (quieter too). The hotel is currently undergoing renovations but the only issue this causes is that the car park has reduced spaces as many areas of the car park have the builder's skips taking up space. If you are in a renovated room you will find that the bath has been replaced with a large shower, for me this is an improvement but some may find this a negative. The only real fault I have with this hotel is that the Internet service is very poor, in fact, it is so slow I use my mobile phone's Internet connection rather than the hotel's. 13. April 2015
Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Overall experience On arrival I was checked into a ground floor room. The corridor to my room had numerous dust sheets and several building contractors present, indicating some sort of refurbishment in progress. In the room, it was obvious the bathroom had been upgraded very well - to a point. However there were were boot imprints on the carpet and mastic on the bathroom door. There was a high level of building work noise during that afternoon. The room itself was largely adequate for my needs, but I experienced high noise levels in the corridor outside my room during the evenings (largely creaking floors as people passed by my room) as well as creaking floors from the room above. The floors in the room itself also creaked a lot. The bathroom was excellent (despite the mastic and bootprints) and the staff very friendly and helpful , but overall it was disappointing. 13.
