Wine prices are extortionate Watch the points value of your booking as booking with a points rate type often get missed off your tally and you will have to chase the missing points team. Service can be slow in the bar area with only 1 bar staff and she may be elsewhere whilst you wait Breakfast was good, food was nice 15 December 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ideal for business or leisure for short stays Hotel very good on the whole but in need of some TLC and investment as guest rooms dated and run down compared to other hotels in the group. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel breakfast was substandard compared to the other hotels but ok. The hot breakfast was hot but again not to the standard in some of the other hotels. The hotel does seem to have a lot of coach tours which probably explains why the tea and coffee were in old fashioned urns but functional all the same. 13 December 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good Value, friendly staff I stayed at this hotel for business purposes on a Saturday evening. I booked a couple of hours before arrival, having booked the only available room, a single (but it does have a queen size bed). The staff were friendly on arrival and the hotel reception was clean today and well decorated for the festive season! The room was fairly small but functional, although the decor and furniture was very dated. The pillows were awful and whilst reception did send down a couple more they were only marginally better. I ordered room service which arrived much earlier than predicted and as a result I was in the shower and didn't hear them knocking. They left a note under the door and as advised they sent the meal down again. Unfortunately though I think this was the original club sandwich I ordered, it was lukewarm with chewy bread and limp chips! Despite this I would still recommend this hotel as the staff are friendly and accommodating and I think if you were in a standard double I would think the decor and size wold be better! It hasn't put me off visiting but it did to meet my expectations of such a well known chain! 12 December 2014

I was very impressed with all the staff, who were extremely friendly and put me at ease. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning myself. 08 December 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Another Holiday Inn As a business user I spend quite a bit of time in hotels and have used this one quite a lot over the past year. In a nutshell; the staff area excellent and work very hard to keep the punters happy but the hotel is a tad tired and in need of a facelift especially the rooms. A recent takeover has seen some reduction in staff hours and changes to the breakfast routine, which has gone downhill. You can't get a decent brew of tea as its now in flasks and usually stewed and luke warm. The food itself is not that warm and the scrambled eggs are to be avoided. As a business user the place ticks most boxes but if I was paying I would be expecting a bit more. 08 December 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The perfect sleep and friendly service I have stayed many times at this hotel through work. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable and I always sleep well here, especially as the rooms are away from the bar area. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable although some are a little 'tired' looking. Would definitely stay here again! 08 December 2014
