Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bussiness User Why do I always get a room that takes 10 mins to get to? Its hoardwork with no lifts and corridors that seem to go on forever. The rooms are dated and in places tired. Food was good but not good value. £2 for 8 chunky chips as an extra. How ever it was good and tasy. Check inn and out is always slow with never enough staff to cope Check in on this occasion took 10 mins and check out 15 mins. The free internet for Platinum IHG Club members I could only connect one device and this was very slow at downloading emails let along viewing a website other than the hotels own. There is never a cheerful welcome at this hotel. I suggest the management try learning from the HI Express in Redditch where they run a hotel that punches well above its belt! On a more positive note I do find this hotel to be very quiet and never have any sleep issues as the bed and pillows are great. 14 November 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room Stayed with my son for his competition. Nice venue. Clean and bright. Pool facility lovely for the boys. No free wifi. Staff often appeared confused as to why they were doing things - when asked about why they were charging my card at the start of my stay. They then charged the card again on departure and I ended up paying over double the cost of the weekend and am still waiting for a refund. The restaurant staff seemed stressed and disorganised, as not busy at night but took 2.5 hours to get a two course meal for four. We were also served our drinks still in the bottles with straws!! Great for 10 year olds not for their mothers! breakfast ran out of cups but the food was nice and a good selection. Watch the stair wells as the domestic staff have a habit of dropping dirty linen down from the floors above. Despite it all we had a great weekend. 13 November 2014

Staff are polite but not enough of them. The evening buffet that was offered looked awful so we avoided it and ordered from the menu. 13 November 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Changing Hotel Standards I stay here weekly on business. The hotel has always been of a good standard but in the last several weeks this usually high standard as slipped, staff and service, food and overall experience is worse than previous. Gold members are not recognised on check-in regardless of spending money with the hotel on a weekly basis. Rumours that the owners have changed maybe the reason but definitely no excuse. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nearly there! The hotel is a few years old and overall feels a wee bit "tired". Let's get the gripes over first. Staff are always friendly and helpful, when you can get hold of them. Several times I have rung reception during the evening only to hold for a over a minute with no reply. Similarly room service. Room service waiting times are unacceptable for a hotel like this. On one occasion, having been quoted 30 to 40 minutes, after an hour waiting I rang and cancelled the order and on a second I had to chase twice after the non-appearance of food after nearly 50 minutes. Each time the response I received was something like "sorry but we're really busy". Clearly they either have insufficient staff or kitchen resources, or they may be prioritising restaurant customers ahead of room service. Either way service was poor on two out of the four nights I ordered from the room service menu. Rooms are clean and tidy, wi-fi good and there's the usual tea and coffee making stuff in the room. Comfortable bed with choice of pillows makes for a good night's sleep. The location of the hotel is good, just off the M6 and is surprisingly quiet despite it's proximity to probably the busiest stretch of road in the Midlands!. 11 November 2014
