Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor service and no recognition I was not recognized as a platinum member and was not given privileges other non-members were given. reception desk staff were rude and said that the Holiday stopped serving breakfast and had no after-hours lounge for platinum members. I discovered later that there was a buffet breakfast but no one told me about it. I would not recommend this property. 12 June 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Conference Stay in the Windy City I was staying at this hotel so I could attend a conference which was being held in the hotel. At first I was a little confused by the hotel because the location that you are dropped off at is not the actual area where the registration desk is located. Once I found the desk the check in experience was good. I got to my room and found that my reservation for a King bed with a view was not what I had received. I went back down and my room was promptly changed to a wonderful King bed with a wonderful view. The rooms are large and very nice. The beds are very comfortable. The staff was always very willing to help with any questions I had and went out of their way to make sure things were right. The only two points that weren't so great for me was the location of the hotel to other areas like the Magnificient Mile and Navy Pier and the fact that it was hard to get a taxi to take me back to the airport. Neither of these points were the hotels fault. The doorman worked very hard to get me a cab to the airport but the cab drivers kept telling him that they were off duty when he told them where I wanted to go. Of course they could take a local passenger. The food was excellent in the hotel and the lounge has a wonderful view of the river so don't miss it! 10 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service - beautiful views The service was wonderful during my 3 day stay for convention. I enjoyed the beautiful views from the bar, while enjoying dinner 2 nights. The food was fabulous. The only problem, was that the air conditioning in my room was very loud - but by the time I got back to my room after long days - I was too tired to call about it. After checking out days later, my business trip was extended, and I came back. Another great experience with Carlos, who called to follow up with me in my room because I mentioned what a tough week it had been. This hotel far exceeded the expectations I had based on the very affordable rates. This will be my Chicago choice from now on. 06 June 2013

The lobby seating area was comfortable and relaxing and the restaurant not only had good food but a quiet ambience that was most pleasant after a hectic day of sightseeing. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Interesting hotel set-uo Was there for a training that was held in the hotel. In order to get to the hotel you had to go up to the 15th floor. As the hotel is located on top of a business. The hotel was fantastic, the staff was more than happy to give you any assistance you needed. Room service was great and the bar and lounge was filled niightly. The room was nice with a great view. I'd stay again. 27 May 2013

The staff is fantastic and helped us with restaurant suggestions, directions and were all around very helpful. The only down side to this hotel is the amount of events they hold. The lobby can get very noisy and the noise does travel up into the rooms. The beds could also use an upgrade as far as comfort. It is still a great location to access all transit and short walks to the most popular restaurants. Cabs are also ready and waiting outside the door. 27 May 2013

This hotel is in a great location too, basically within walking distance to most of the hot spots, and taxi stop right in front of the entrance, food court (above LUXEHOME) also shuttle bus to the NRA show. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wonderful stay The staff was very accommodating, bringing in a roll-away for our extra guest. The concierge was the BEST - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Chicago!! The bar was comfortable, although the music was a bit cheesy (techno-beat, when jazz would have been better). But the bartender was willing to google the recipe for a drink we ordered - we were happy! Bedding was comfortable, with plenty of firm pillows. We will be back! 21 May 2013

Near the train station, easy check-in (usually early), nice staff, comfortable quiet rooms, cool views, great bar, close to things we want to do and see. We usually get a good rate, too. They made all the difference in my ability to experience all that the area had to offer in terms of food and entertainment. Nice gym and self service laundry a big plus! The location is right in the middle of everything. No need to get in the care and drive; you can just walk. Definitely recommend this hotel to others. The only thing I did not care for is having to pay for parking. Thank goodness it was charged to the company. 13 May 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by May 2013 Stay I was attending a wedding at the Chicago Mart Plaza Holiday Inn the 4th of May. My call that morning to ask for an early check in was never returned and when I arrived at the hotel they told me I didn't have a reservation. They eventually found my reservation in a pile of people who had already checked in. Even though the web site for the hotel said that the hotel had just undergone a huge renovation I saw little done in the rooms, the carpeting had been replaced, from my stay there 2 years ago and the hotel need a major overhaul then. Furniture was badly chipped and dinged up and the bathroom fixtures were in horrible condition, chipped and cracking. The location is great and the view from the main floor bar and some of the rooms is spectacular but overall there is much that needs to be done in the hotel. 11 May 2013

The hotel is in a great location and close to public transit. Also a very easy walk to several sights. The rooms were adequate last year. On this stay, I was very impressed by the upgrades made to the rooms and lobby. I know there is more work to complete the hotel, but what a difference!!! Nice job Holiday Inn!! I know I will choose your hotel for future visits to Chicago!! 10 May 2013
