We came to Chicago for an appointment with a doctor at Rush. This Holiday was just down the road from his office. The staff were very curteous and prompt. Valet parking was a great perk. We will be staying here again!!

I found everyone at the front desk and on the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The not only answered all of my questions, but were willing to help in any way. We had our luggage stored while we toured the city and they made this a very easy and quick process.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Chicago Marathon Hotel
We arrived Thursday for the marathon and found that they could not give us late checkout. The hotel was a Marathon hotel in name only. No transporation, no marathon morning breakfast, no sign that there was a marathon on.
Next time I might as well book my own hotel

From the moment of my arrival, The staff were courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. They made my stay in the Chicago area most enjoyable. The Valet service was the best!! The gentlemen were willing to take time with me to give directions on driving, and finding my way around the area. They even "tutored" me on how to use the train system!!

If it wasn't for the staff being exceptionally friendly, I would have given this hotel a VERY low rating. Although it is a typical hotel in the city, the property has not seen a remodel in years. My allergies from the hotel were so severe that I was actually unable to breath while in the hotel.
That being said, the hotel staff was so genuine and caring, that I felt as if I was a frequent guest there (although it was my first time staying at this hotel). They made the hotel work, and that is the only saving grace of this hotel aside from the location.

As you may or may not be able to tell, I am a Platinum member and this was by far the worst HI I have ever stayed at. Everything from the elevators up was in need of repair, updating and cleaning. For the money it cost, it was a total disappointment. The room wasn't ready when I arrived. There were no cups or glasses in the bathroom, the suites are very oddly laid out with the kitchen in the bedroom. No outlets in the kitchen to plug the coffee maker into without laying the tray across the sink. I am very disappointed.

We were pleasantly pleased to be upgraded to suites, as a Platinum member. The Doorman was most cordial and helpful. Staff were very friendly and Helpful. Wished it was located a little closer to attractions, but could walk to Field Museum and Millennium Park. The restaurant could use additional staff. We had to wait quite a while for our evening drinks and some snacks.We really like the ability to use combined points and dollars to obtain rooms used this trip for a father/son getaway, with wives. Overall,a pretty good stay.

The room was very confortable and funtional. Each light by the bed had two electrical outlets, very handy for recharging cell phones and other electronics. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Plenty of closet space. Restroom clean and well supplied. Big flatscreen TV availabe for news and entertainment.
The desk lamp had an outlet for easy use of my laptop. Wireless internet worked very well with both my laptop and my I-Pod touch.
The only negative was the truck noise from the nearby street.

Great can-do staff! The property is a bit tired, but the staff makes up for any short comings. One of my pet peeves with ALL hotels is parking. Valet is available, and as a Priority Club member there is a discount available, but there are a number of options around the property that can significantly reduce the published charges. Location is convenient to walking to the Magnificent Mile downtown (we did take a taxi to get back). Great location if you are doing Cubs and White Sox in the same trip.

The rooms were average and clean and the rooftop pool was a nice feature. The young man working the front desk when we checked in was rude, did not ask about our Priority Club status, failed to provide the complimentary food coupons for our children, and double charged my credit card. Although much more friendly young woman was able to correct all of his mistakes, he should not have been working in that position. It just set a bad tone for our short stay there.

As a platinum member I was greeted by name, given free bottled water at check-in, treated as a VIP, and automatically upgraded into a 1 bedroom suite. The hotel is the older style which isn't great but what it lacks in modern polish it makes up for in staff and cleanliness. The staff was excellent and for that I highly recommend staying here when in the Chicago downtown area. It was also walking distance to the Train Station and public transportations so very convenient for me and my family.

I was expecting to hate this hotel because it's only 1 block from a Greyhound Terminal. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived late but the staff was courteous and helpful, we were served a delicious meal in the restaurant, and the room was clean and comfortable. We slept well and woke refreshed. Overall, it was exactly what we needed.

We arrived at the hotel fresh from the plane. The hotel was easy to find and so conveniently located we felt Chicago was at our feet. We parked the car with ease and then were able to walk to the Sears tower. The bus to tour the city was also close as were many of the famous restaurants.
First impressions of the hotel suggested it might require refreshing, but the location and the quality of the staff reassured us we were valued guests of both the hotel chain and the city.

I wish I would have stayed at the other Holiday Inn north of downtown. This is in a not so good location next to a very busy highway. Noisy traffic noise in the room. In a secluded area not near anything. The hotel overal needs a overhaul. I think this is one location that got left out of the Holiday Inn remodel phase that occured in the most recent years. Good things were the hotel service was great! Restaurant attached had good food.

Hotel is okay, clean and all. But it is not a comfortable location, it is like an island in the middle of streets and a parking spot. For that, the price is not proper. And the staff isn't nice as I was used to other places. The restaurant is excellent.
If you don't find find another place, for one or two nights it isn't that bad.
