Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn, Haydock Park My one night last Friday was business. I was greeted by reception staff who were very efficient and helpful. I ate in the bar and the food and service were both very good. My room was very spacious and quiet, and I enjoyed a good night's rest. Definitely intend to stay again. 12 April 2013

Took my elderly father with us this time and he loved it, the staff were so helpful and couldnt do enough for him, WELL DONE. Im a Gold Priority Cub member and have stayed at loads of HI Expresses & HI Hotels but no one can beat ths standard of customer service / Care that you provide. On a slight downside, Rooms could be maintained a little better but still of a good quality. Looking forward to my next visit (which will be soon). 05 April 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by polite and friendly reception staff stayed at the holiday inn (haydock) for just one night, we would stay there again, reception staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious, good value for money. I suppose only negative was our room had stale smoke smell on curtains and maybe in carpets (wasn't sure) that was not too nice, so sprayed some perfume around to hide the smell. But as I said that was the only negative and as we had been travelling for 5 hours to get there and had to go out almost straight away didn't mention it, maybe next time we would ask for another room. 17 March 2013

Moved room twice due to noisy service pipework, very poor, Arrived needing a break, left needing a rest. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Could do better The hotel was expensive in comparison to the innumerable Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express stays I have experienced over the last ten years or so. I have stayed here a couple of times previously and it was no better or worse than previously. This is the first time I have been acknowledged as a Platinum PC member by being offered a 500 points voucher or a drink and snack in the bar. Room upgrades are NEVER available even when the hotel is half full. At other hotels even if an upgrade is not available you get water and a biscuit in your room at least. The decor is tired and the basic room allotted to me was shabby. I had room service and the staff who served me were pleasant and efficient but the food was nothing special. 30 January 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Most enjoyable Avery comfortable stay and excellent food. The last time we stayed, we had to complain about the breakfast. This has been rectified and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were most welcoming and attentive in Reception, Bar and Restaurant. It was very clean, very comfortable and the breakfast was "AMAZING" The only thing that i could pick a fault with, would be the price of the bar as its very expensive?? Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by excellent room and breakfast,pity the bar prices! we as 2couples stayed over new year. We booked well in advance and got agood value b&b rate. The room was very good-clean spacious and comfortable,and the breakfast(we have stayed here before) was first class in every aspect. The lounge area is comfortable. We would have liked to spend more time in the bar on an evening but there is absolutely no way are we paying as much as £7-50 for a glass of wine so we walked into Ashton where prices for food and drink are much more reasonable. We believe that the pricing policy in the bar at the Holiday Inn only serves to drive people elsewhere and in our case cost the hotel a significant amount of revenue. This is a shame as we really like the hotel and will definitely stay again but will only eat and drink in the hotel if we feel the prices are reasonable. 07 January 2013

Food is very good. The food is very good. The gym has good onsite facilities. It has weight training machines, free weights, treadmill, cross trainers, cycle machines etc. Very good sauna, steam room and swimming pool. It has onsite beauty salon including massage etc which is very good and not expensive. Internet access is a bit expensive. 24 November 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed service One or two of the reception staff are excellent, always recognising Priority Clubloyalty status and taking the trouble to remember ones name and preferences, the majority sadly treat dealing with customers as a chore. When these staff are on, an upgrade is almost always impossible - the response is always we are too full. funny that these staff are always on on the days that they are full! The restaurant staff are great. You are greeted with a smile, and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. They dash round and really look after their customers 21 November 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place for a chill out We booked a 2 for 1 here,Sunday til Tuesday. Sailed through check in. Room (exec) was lovely. View wasnt good (a rooftop) but on this occasion this didnt bother us at all as we just wanted to chill. We used the leisure centre, which we enjoyed but it needs some TLC as its a bit neglected looking. We had a bar meal and while we were impressed with the standard of our main course we were not with dessert.. Expected more than one halved strawberry in our strawbery dessert. It won't put us off we just won't order that again. There was a good variety at breakfast.. This was my 2nd visit to this hotel and yes I would return. 28 October 2012
