Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Overall it was a good experience! You can definitely tell this is a new hotel! I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn at Ortigas & the two experiences are almost the same, but this property at Ayala Center has newer amenities. Like every other hotel in Makati, the convenience is that it is right next door to an obnoxiously large shopping mall - Glorietta Mall. Check out the Tesoros across the street from this property if you are looking for souvenirs that are different than the ones you can find at the Kultura store in the mall. Overall this was a good experience. It is a well maintained property, but the elevators are not efficient at all. The laundry service was good, but overly priced. The breakfast buffet & restaurant staff was good, but way too many staff members at one time making the restaurant feel crowded. With that many restaurant staff at one time, one would think they would not find food crumbs or a piece of bacon under their table when they are seated for breakfast. The housekeeping staff is well trained & very consistent with their level of service. The concierge was extremely helpful. The rooftop deck & pool made it a relaxing stay. The staff is friendly, but at times their friendliness becomes less genuine during your stay. I was traveling with my partner, who happens to be a caucasian American, & he definitely got more attention from the staff & were more attentive to his requests than mine. As an American, who has parents who immigrated from the Philippines to the United States, I always have a difficult time understanding why I would be treated this way. I’ve traveled to many parts of the world & this property staff made me feel less of a valued customer. I know the Pilipino culture very well & it is disappointing several front desk staff members treated me this way. We needed to extend our check out time past 11:00 due an INTERNATIONAL flight, we paid the PHP 4,000.00 for an additional 6 hours & planned to check out at 16:00. I find it interesting that your check in time is at 15:00 & your front desk operations require the additional PHP 4,000.00 if a guest wishes to extend their check out time to 17:00. I only see a loss of less than two hours of revenue since we were planning to check out at 16:00. At 15:00 we called the front desk to have the bellman bring our baggage to the ground floor to lessen the rush & hassle of the actual check out process. For some reason, your front desk interpreted this request as us wanting to check out. Your front desk inactivated our hotel key & an entire 1/2 hour of our time was wasted trying to sort this out. This was a huge inconvenience because the same person decided to also inactivate the hotel key of a family member who paid the additional PHP 4,000.00 to check out at 17:00 because of their INTERNATIONAL flight. It would have been more efficient if the front desk attendant just simply asked if we were actually checking out, instead they made an incorrect assumption. As I said, this was overall a good experience. I would stay here again because of its relative closeness to NAIA, but you can get that convenience with any hotel in the Makati area. November 29, 2015

Hotel staff helping to get a taxi, open the doors for you and many other things. Best Breakfast! Good shower! The only things I didn't liked there is: 1. Bed and sheets are not soft and not much comfortable. 2. To much time waiting for the elevators to take you down or up. November 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of true mgmt Overall its not bad and people on the ground are very nice and try their best but you get a feeling that management recently done changes and cut down on things. In a service intensive industry like hotels this becomes quickly an issue. Some examples, waiting for being seated, its rush hour and yes, seats are limitied. but when the sign says wait,hostess clean tables and try to arrange, people ignore the sign after waiting a long time and staff do not manage. Result is that staff rush to clean and dont seem to have control, reduced number of staff or not enough seats?. While checking in staff seem nice on the surface but stressed or not very happy, I was one of three checking in but the process and check in took quite a long time. When checking out the staff was distrurb by a manger who stood talking to them and did not let them do the job, customer focus, no not really. For the price you pay you get a decent room and sleep well, staff is friendly but its not up to the mark for what you pay. Again staff on ground is nice but not all is as good as it could be. She had a stomach pain due to food we had earlier in the day before coming to the hotel. I contacted the front desk asking where to get a medicine. They said they would send the hotel nurse to see my wife. And they did. A nurse came and subscribed a medicine. My wife felt better later. Later on, the duty manager called to check and offered to help to take us to a hospital in case my wife's condition didn't improve. We were impressed by the care and follow up. November 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff, Restaurant and location It's my second time at Holiday Inn Makati and again the overall experience was very good. The staff very kind and courteous. This time a tried lunch and dinner in the hotel and it was so good as the breakfast. I just missed the possibility to order a pizza in dinner time. But ok. The mattress and pillows are the hotel weakness for me. Very hard to take a good rest. But it may be very personal. I used also the concierge for book a car to pick up me in the airport and to bring me back to there. Even is very expensive if compared with regular taxi, it's private, safe and cordial service. I really recommend Holiday Inn when need to do things in Makati region (in my case was very convenient) November 27, 2015
