Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall great experience Let me begin with my only fault for this property -- they're in the midst of renovating the lobby so the reception desk is temporarily moved to the right (north end of the building) and it's not immediately obvious where the temporary reception desk is located until you go into the north entrance where the elevators are located, then there are large signs pointing newcomers in the right direction. Upsides: the desk staff were courteous, prompt, professional, and friendly. Our room was excellent; top floor of the north tower, lovely wall of glass, properly cold AC, nice flatscreen TV with plenty of HD channels, fast wireless, bright makeup light mirror over the sink, and a very nice bed with soft and firm pillows. Also, a good location, right on the lake with access to the walking/running trail. Not far at all from downtown, so relatively quick access to the guts of Austin. I know it's an older building, but they've obviously made great efforts to keep it up to date and welcoming April 27, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Weekend Stay We booked this hotel for free with points for a weekend getaway in Austin, The hotel is very nice and the staff was friendly. We were upgraded to a lake facing suite that was perfect. The hotels close proximity to Rainey St. made it a very easy walk and the shuttle to the airport was quick and easy April 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by beautiful view We really enjoyed the view of the lake from our room and from the makeshift bar/restaurant that had been set up on the first floor. The hotel was undergoing some renovations during our stay and so they had set up the bar/restaurant in a meeting room that looked out at the lake. The rooms were clean and comfortable as they always are at a holiday inn, and the price was fair for a downtown Austin hotel. We did not use the shuttle service, but the front desk staff called us a cab and the cab arrived in less than 5 min. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Place To Stay for the Weekend Had a very good stay here. As a Spire Elite member got upgraded to a Executive room on top floor with a view of Lady Bird Lake. Was pleasantly surprised about that. View was spectacular and room was very good. Very friendly staff in particular at the restaurant and bar. Want to in particular point out Luis at the restaurant and bar who was very friendly and courteous. They make great margarita's at the bar so highly recommend. Next time I come back to Austin for a weekend stay this is one of the primary candidates. Yes, construction is a bit of a inconvenience but is not a show stopper. The major issue is that they do need to get the elevators in better working conditions. They should be replaced as one was out of commission during the majority of our stay. That left long lines waiting to use the other. April 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Rooms but Hotel Under Construction The Holiday Inn, Austin-Town Lake is very strategically located along Lady Bird Lake with ready access to running and biking trails and within 10 minutes walking distance from downtown Austin. The rooms were also very nice. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. That said, the property is currently being re-modeled and the lobby and ground floor felt like one was in the middle of a construction zone. Also, the restaurant is also a temporary one due to the construction. Once construction is done this will be a very good business hotel to stay at, but in the mean time, the only nice things about this property are its location, view of the lake and hotel rooms. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff, Cmfortable Room This hotel was doing a major renovation during my stay. The guest rooms have been completed nicely. They were working on the public areas when I was there so the reception desk was make-shift and the restaurant was relocated to the bar overlooking Lady Bird Lake which was a lovely view. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The shuttle bus was prompt and the drivers were very personable. It can't be easy working in the midst of a renovation so I think the staff should be commended. I look forward to seeing the completed renovation photos. April 14, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by never again The room was small and dirty. The staff at the front desk was didn't tell us about the different towers and so we were left asking for directions from the other guests. There was 1 particular front desk person who was extremely annoying. I called down to ask for a shuttle, he asked me what time I needed it. After I told him what time I needed it, he advised me that they leave ever 1/2 hour. Why ask for a time when they have a schedule? I asked for a cab to be called. Apparently he couldn't do that either. Housekeeping made the bed without removing a plate from the bed, so it was made up in the bed with what was left from my husbands sandwich. April 14, 2016
