Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Remodeling Room upgrades have been completed making the in-room experience much more pleasant. The restaurant/check-in lobby/bar areas are now being remodeled making it difficult to navigate these areas to and from the rooms and the parking garage. UT graduation weekend inflated the price, but overall this is still a great property at a great location. Also, we prefer a firm bed and this one was a little too soft. May 25, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Elevator out, Bad Design, Renovations Renovations made everything in the common areas seem unclean plus navigation was difficult. Even without considering the renovations, the architectural design seemed flawed. The hotel consists of two thin towers so, it feels like you are walking in a circle. I don't think the interior design helped. I felt dizzy walking to my room from the elevator. After checking out I walked from the front of the hotel to the back to use the garage elevator, which I found inoperable. In that moment, I was hoping for a telephone to call the front desk but there was no phone in sight. I walked back to the front to tell them it was broken and ended up having to walk the up the front ramp to the garage (where cars enter) and then up three levels of stairs to my car. May 23, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Town Lake - Austin Nice hotel in the past that is currently undergoing a pretty major renovation. I was unaware of this at the time I booked this stay. The renovation made the stay a little less pleasant than before but I guess there's no way around that. Still, the staff was great, the location convenient and considering the work being done it was just fine. May 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Under Construction I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel until they complete their renovations. The common areas were in disrepair to the extent of discomfort. The staff was curt and unfriendly and the elevators did not work for the majority of our stay. Every guest you spoke to had either been diverted to the service elevators, of which you got to by a pen shoved into the lock to provide access and even those elevators got stuck once or twice. Not one guest I ran into did not have a story of being stuck in one of the elevators. Getting to your room with luggage from the parking garage was a nightmare and assistance was unavailable. Until they get their arms around the renovations, I would avoid this hotel. It does not provide relaxation or peace of mind- not now anyway.. On the good side, the renovated rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The showers were the best I've seen in a really long time, so once they get thru all the mess, I believe this hotel will once again be a great place to stays. Just not now. Buyer beware. May 9, 2016

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room/ Other areas under construction Renovation of lobby and first floor is inconvenient. The areas set up for bar and restaurant and exercise room are small rooms and disappointing. There should be a key type security for use of the garage for safety. You can tell this was a very old hotel that is undergoing a major renovation and hopefully the next time we come to Austin it will be completed and an appropriate place to stay for the cost. As it is it is overpriced as all you get for the amount paid is the room and the location and compared to other Holiday Inn hotels we have stayed at this one is substandard. May 6, 2016
