Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average I stayed in a twin bedroom. The space is relatively small compare other hotel I stayed in. It is 10~15 min by shuttle to airport and it cost 7 euro on the return trip. Parking is 15 euro per day, I don't think other hotel charges that. I would not want to stay there again unless necessary. 23 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excelent staff assistance Found the staff extremely helpful in aiding our travel requests. Friendly people throughout the hotel. 21 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Brandon was very helpful! I had a great experience staying at Holiday inn during a business trip to Amsterdam. It is about 10 mins from the train station. Some nice eating places within 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Hotel staff especially Brandon was very courteous and helpful. He readily ordered dinners upon request. Shuttle service from the hotel back to the airport was late by 30 mins. So plan ahead and give yourself enough time to reach airport. 19 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ESC Very clean , but to go to City Center have to take a train that is away and expensive , Very confortable place 09 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Schiphol Arrived tired and hungry and a problem with the bookings. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Nice room comfortable bed and relaxing shower. Nice breakfast too, would gladly return. 06 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A real enclosed shower! It was our last night in Europe in a 3 week trip. We were tired and were not looking forward to a long flight the next day. We got up to our room, opened the door, looked in the bathroom, and there it was. A full, enclosed, glass fronted, shower stall. We felt like we had reached heaven. No more European style showers consisting of a flexible hose in a bath tub that sprayed the entire bathroom floor. A good night's sleep got us ready for travel, but we won't forget that shower. 06 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great value, good location and nice room We thought it was a great value for your money and within walking distance of restaurants and the train station...very quiet, clean, spacious, comfortable and friendly staff....a great experience. 06 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Staffs are friendly and is clean and comfortable 05 September 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Lack of cleaning service As a Holiday Inn "Hotel" I expected the room to be cleaned everyday for the last 3 days/2nights I stayed there for a week, my room was not cleaned the whole weekend. I asked this question to the recepcionist and she said that the records show that I put the "do not disturb sign" on the door... I`d never put that sign and this of course was invented by the cleaning staff. I did not like this fact and makes me wonder what kind of staff does this hotel hire to write something like this and the worst problem is that nobody was aware of this until I complained, I honestly thought it was because it was Friday and Saturday and thought maybe in Holland don`t work weekends. 03 September 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Generally excellent and such welcoming staff I work away from home 3 days each week and sometimes it's hard to be away on such a regular basis. The reason I choose to stay at the Holiday Inn is mainly because the staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and make being away from home just a little less traumatic. My only negative remark s that the housekeeping staff are sometimes a little sloppy. I am aware of two occasions (one involving me personally) where guests have been given the key to a room only to find that it has not been made ready and in fact was as left by the previous occupant. Other recent examples are that one day last week I was left with only one large towel instead of two and the liner from the shower-room bin had been left on the surface next to the sink. When I picked it up to throw it away I found the surface below to be dirty and so I wiped it clean myself with a damp tissue. 01 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything you need for a break away I stayed here as I was attending a festival in Amsterdam, unfortunately the venue was changed to Bloemendaal Ann Zee at short notice. This was not a problem, however, as the train station was a short walk away from the hotel and it didn't take long to get to Zandvoort station and then a short bus ride to the venue. The room was clean and modern and the bed was really comfortable as I would expect from the Holiday Inn. Breakfast is served from 7am until 10.30am which is great if you are a late riser like myself. The check out is 12pm which I really appreciated as we were back very late the night before. The staff were also friendly and helpful. I have stayed at many hotels over the years for short breaks away, some costing considerably more with little extra, so I would definitely recommend for value for money. The only small improvement I would make is to add a mirror above the desk, other than that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My advice to anyone staying in the area is to bring some euro’s with you if you don't have a Maestro card as the station currently does not accept Visa when you buy a train ticket. 22 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Affordable hotel with all the basics for weary travellers :) This hotel looks relatively new or very well maintained. The moment i walked in, friendly smiles welcomed me. Pleasant service, efficient check-in and very cosy rooms. It's definitely worth the value. The location is around 15mins walk to the nearest train station and very peaceful. A simple but adequate variety of quick meals are available for sale, so weary travellers do not even need to venture out from the hotel. There's even a room for ironing, if needed. I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel again, if i ever stopped by Amsterdam for transit. Great hotel! 21 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to Holiday Inn Standard Rooms were tiny tiny , and service non existent. No upgrades for Platinum members, charge for shuttle service back to airport, and the train stop too far away for senior citizens to walk to and hotel would not provide shuttle service to the train station. Had to pay the shuttle service to airport to catch the train to city center. Only Continental breakfast available. 20 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Clean Hotel Relaxing room, good shower, decent breakfast. Nice lounge in the lobby. Room service would have been most welcome. There was a microwaveable noodle machine in the hotel. Was okay. Would stay again. 19 August 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by About the wheelchair accessible room Given that the room was designated as wheelchair accessible, it made no sense the glass shower doors and the bed snuggly fitting up against one wall. So, there is only one side of the bed with access. The bathroom had all the handicapped accessible features one could need. But, my mother, using the wheelchair, was afraid to bump the glass doors within the room. The hotel was very difficult to find hidden in a business park with not much else in the area. I would not say the hotel is close to the airport. The breakfast and hotel lobby was nice. The food in the lobby was quite expensive. 10 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel was clean and comfortable. The only problem was the bed was too soft. Great place to stay near the airport and the trams into town. 09 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Comfortable room with plenty of space The hotel was very good. The room was comfortable and quite spacious. Very clean with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of options to choose from. A great start to the day. The hotel is close to Schipol and can be reached by train as well as by shuttle. Closeness to the rail link also means that the city is easily accessible within 20 minutes. Good value and a great location 07 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SUPER DEAL A bargain! Very good value for money. Very new, very modern, very comfortable, very convenient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. No restaurant but simple meal available. 02 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and clean This hotel is comfortable and clean. The rooms are of a high standard. The staff are very friendly. However there is no iron in the room and to use the iron you have to visit a service room on the 2nd floor where there are 2 old cheap irons(for the whole hotel). Not good for a business hotel. 31 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice location We stayed at the Amsterdam-Schiphol Holiday Inn for one night in July 2013. It is located a few minutes away by train from AMS with about a 10 minute walk from the train station in an area surrounded by office buildings. The clean, neat room was of a functional size with a lovely tiled shower. No toiletries but instead dispensers provided soap. There was an electric kettle with coffee and tea in the room. The only problem we encountered was the sagging mattress, but the nice person at the front desk explained that in a months time all the mattresses will be replaced. The closest restaurant l'Hirondelle is a 10 min walk away, and has a fantastic deck overlooking a large rectangular pond with ducks and weeping willow. We were very happy with our meals, especially the herring starter and cheese plate to finish. If you stay at this Holiday Inn be sure to check out this restaurant. 29 July 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beware of the free airport shuttle The rooms were very nice at a good price. However, beware! The website states a "free shuttle from the airport to the hotel". In every other Holiday Inn Express as well as major competitors, they have provided a free shuttle TO and from the airport - but not so here! Only when you checked in at the hotel did you find out it was going to cost 7.50 Euro each person to return to the airport! Nowhere is this explained in their hotel ads and was a bit deceptive. So, in reality, the shuttle is not free, but you are being expected to pay all of it when you return to the airport. 29 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice hotel perfect stay, this hotel is a little further from the airport than other places to stay but the rail station is close so its fairly easy to get into the city. Hoofdorp is a great area to stay in Holland with a lovely selection of places to eat. The only negatives was that no free soap provided in the hotel I understand it is a budget hotel but surely free soap in the shower could be provided. also the bicycle hire is too expensive and put me off using this facility. 29 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet room at Amsterdam Airport Good service and quiet, comfortable room. would recommend it to people who wish to overnight in Amsterdam Airport 26 July 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good value My mattress was uncomfortable. Kept me up. Everything else was fine. 19 July 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible bed We were very disappointed in the bed. Luckily we only had to stay one night or my back would have suffered. We were also disappointed that the shuttle to Schipoll was not included. Some staff were friendly and some were robots. We had a very good experience at Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam Zuid, but not here. I should have also got a Welcome Drink because I have over 60K points as a Priority Member, but the staff said I had to wait a full year! 17 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Long weekend in Amsterdam This property was perfect for our groups long weekend in Amsterdam. The only downfall being that the local rail link between the airport and Amsterdam city center was closed for repairs. Traveling with such a large group presented us with a bit of an issue. However, the staff at the Holiday Inn Express - Schiphol were very helpful in finding us alternate means of reaching the city. Big thanks to Brandon at the front desk! Great property, highly recommend. 17 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business Layover Stayed at the hotel for one night on my way to work in Doha for 2 weeks, and truly had a nice experience. The staff went out of their way to assist me with any requests. They directed me on how to get to the small town - easy 12 minute walk away - where there are outdoor cafes and shops to enjoy. Plus there is a sidewalk the entire way. The shuttle was readily available, and timely in both directions. Breakfast offers both hot and cold items, and was well stocked. Would recommend this location to anyone needing a one night - or more - stay in a comfortable envionment. 08 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff, Clean & Modern, Restaurant Choices Few We chose this hotel on a flight layover in Amsterdam. Our flight arrived a bit late (approx. 9 pm), and upon arriving at the hotel discovered that there were very few restaurant choices in the area, and they all closed at 10pm. We had to rush to find a restaurant, which turned out to be excellent (a small bistro a few blocks away). They were in the process of closing but were gracious enough to allow us to order limited items from the menu. The hotel staff was friendly and extremely helpful as we had to be at the airport earlier than shuttle runs. They booked a taxi for us and even came to our door in the am to be sure that we were awake. The rooms are immaculate, modern, and comfortable. We would stay here again if restaurants were more available. The hotel appeared to be in a business and residential district which impacted the lack of eateries late in the evening. 06 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Above & Beyond We stayed at this location twice (at the beginning AND the end of our holiday), and both times the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were all very helpful. After a very short while they recognised us whenever we entered the hotel. As an example, on the last night we decided to have dinner delivered. They had a good array of menus available, and even phoned the restaurant so that we would have no difficulties with the language in placing our order. By that time we had depleted our Euros, so they put the amount on our hotel bill (probably against the rules) and, when the food arrived, supplied us with proper plates and cutlery. A series of very nice gestures. 29 June 2013
