Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor check in procedures Extremely disappointed with the check in procedures. We arrived at noon and were hoping to get in at that time. They said we wouldn't be able to check in until the guaranteed time of 3:00. Unfortunately we were not able to check in until after 4:30 and only because we complained. We had actually spoke with the front desk several times hoping they had our room ready and indicated we could take anything available in the nicer tower. The front desk was absolutely unapologetic about the fact that it was past the guaranteed check in time. A huge disappointment! The staff made it that much worse because they just didn't seem to care because apparently this happens all the time. If you are only there for a day and would like to utilize the full day, do NOT book a room here. It literally ruined my 50th birthday which I was so hoping would be special. Additionally, I booked this online and every request I made was not honored. 27 February 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Intercontinental stay Room was too small Would have complained but just had surgery and wasn't up to trecking back to lobby Searched for a sewing kit, lost a button, it should have been in the bathroom, visible. Found on last day while packing, in a drawer Must you display water, candy, nuts etc. ... And charge if the item is removed for more than a minute? How childish. Are we two years old? Nickeled and dimed Basic, small, overpriced for winter room Only great thing was location 26 February 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chicago Winter Escape It wasn't our best decision to visit Chicago in the coldest season of the year, but the hotel was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The free Starbucks coffee helped to warm us up... My only bad point was to find our room, which was located in the other part of the building and when we checked in, this wasn't told to us so it took us a while to find our room. apart from that very nice and would recommend. 22 February 2015
