Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff! Everyone is really friendly. The rooms were somewhat small but comfortable. The hotel is located is a great area. Convenient to shopping and eating establishments. We would and probably will stay here again! September 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Cheap Option near Michigan Ave I stayed at this location for 1 night and had a great experience. The room was a tiny bit cramped but I found everything else to be exceptional. The staff was attentive and pleasant. 2 water bottles as a welcome gift was very nice. The Linens were comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean and updated. I would consider this to be the best budget hotel option near Michigan ave. Shortly after I stayed at the Holiday Inn near the Merchandise Mart and I preferred the Holiday Inn Express. September 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Smiling, helpful Staff Happened on this Hotel by accident and will now stay here every time we are in Chicago. Within walking distance of great restaurants, things to do, the Pier and the Staff's recommendations were superb! September 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place The hotel is great, is on a great area, everything was within minutes from there, the staff is awesome, 100% sure i'm staying there on my next trip to Chicago September 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just right Got a last minute deal and arrived late evening. Room was small, but comfortable, adequate and in a perfect downtown location. Breakfast was outstanding. The entire hotel is clean and inviting. Valet parking is convenient and price-appropriate with in/out privileges. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend this hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Match box room The rooms were extremely small. I have never stayed at a hotel so small. The parking was also too expensive. Nicer hotels in the same area parking rates are cheaper. September 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and location! We loved the super clean rooms, free hot breakfast with many choices, friendly staff, and free water/coffee in the lobby. The location made it an easy walk to Mag Mile/John Hancock Building, Navy Pier, Riverfront/Watertaxi stop. September 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very kind staff, nice hotel, great country I am french and it s the first time I visit the Us Chicago is a marvelous city and the american people are so kind So on, the staff was so fantastic with my family Too much sugar at breakfast :-) I found many good restaurants with tasty food During each night, there were so nany noises in this enormous city without end (I live in a little village in France)... What a difference ! Go to Chicago and stay at this hotel You will love it ... And the US too Next year, I'll go to Texas.... I promise Philippe September 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, convenient, and accommodating ! We found our room to be very clean and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located to major shops and attractions. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful when we needed anything from directions to dinner recommendations. Would stay here again! September 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a Staff What an amazing staff, the bellmen/valets were amazing, We were taking our child to college and had so much stuff they helped us pack and repack the car, never complained, helped us with so much stuff to the room. Laughted with us, not at us. Enjoyed their company. Front desk people knew everything about Chicago and helped with plans, directions, suggestions etc. Rooms were small, but felt like we were in a boutique hotel and enjoyed the experience of staying in a historic building with all the Holiday Inn Express amentities we have come to expect. Great location! September 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by inconvenient the stairs are inconvenient to strollers and wheelchairs September 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Magnificent stay - lives up to area name. Magnificent stay and definitively lived up to the area name. The staff was courteous, responsive, and extremely professional. I liked the concept of how the Hotel Cass idea merged with the modern and tasteful decor for a unique Chicago experience. This time I stayed for business though my stay was short and memorable. However, next time will be with the family for pleasure. September 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service! I would give this hotel 5 stars. The service and staff were so kind and very helpful. The only drawback is the room size. However, we were only in the room to sleep so it wasn't that big of a deal. I would of liked a bit more room in the bathroom too. I would totally come back! Also, we got a great deal. Location was one block away from all the shops. September 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Chicago Visit We loved this hotel! It had exactly what we needed for our 4 day stay in Chicago. It was clean, convenient (within walking distance of all the Chicago sites), very helpful (the staff was extremely friendly and the concierge was very knowledgeable and always available) and included a terrific free breakfast. The rooms are small but they had everything we needed. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. September 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Welcoming warm staff I stayed here Aug 20 to Aug 24, 2013, with my husband, 9 year old son. Started off with only 1 bed booked, Front desk staff was able to upgrade the room to two beds. Thank You Fran. The service was excellent, wonderful breakfast, beautiful hotel. My son Harrison asked on our check out day if they would "Dinosit" his pet dinosaur Rexie. The front desk staff obliged. Harrison gave lots of instructions for his care, which they loved. Would recommend staying at this hotel to friends. September 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful service Great location. Easy proximity to some great deep dish pizza and close walk to boat tours of the city. August 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Missing one very important thing The hotel was very nice and the staff was great, very helpful. But for a hotel of that size, I was amazed that it only had ONE beverage vending machine. And they were out of water!! Really? How hard is it to go get cases of bottled water for your guests? It was in the 90s. August 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will not be back I am a fan of Holiday Inn Express and a Gold Elite Member. Our room was located on the 2nd floor next to the elevator. The room was tiny. We had two full (not queen) beds in our room. The suitcases had to remain closed and against the wall in order to walk around the bed. My wife and I would roll to the center of the mattress because it was worn out, and we are not large people. I have never had a problem with Holiday Inn Express and will continue to be a loyal patron (at a third of the cost of this particular hotel). I would rather sleep in a tent next to Lake Michigan before giving money to this hotel again. I am 51 years of age and this was by far, the most uncomfortable room and bed that I have had at any hotel, ever. August 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Service! What a cute little updated classic hotel in a perfect location! This was my first time to Chicago and the hotel staff made it great! I would definitely recommend this clean and well organized hotel, especially for the more affordable price. Thanks for making my sister's and my trip fun and hassle free! August 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for Magificant Mile This was a very nice location just a couple of blocks from Magificant Mile. Room was small but very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Definitely would stay again August 25, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed! The rooms are very small! You can barely walk around in them. Everything is condensed. The staff was not very friendly and the elevators were slow. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was average compared to others. The valet parking was terrible! It took about 15-25 mins every time they got our vehicle. Not sure where they were going to park it. Left after the first night and stayed at the Holiday Inn Merchandise Mart. Much better experience. August 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small room, great service. I have to say that the room was the smallest I have ever stayed in. I realize space is at a premium in downtown Chicago, but have never imagined a hotel room could be so cramped for the amount we spent to stay there. WiFi is always nice, and something I look for in a hotel. However, I didn't have space in my room to even set up a laptop, so I didn't even get a chance to make use of it. The only counter space was a 1x2 foot ledge next to the bathroom sink (not ideal for placing electronics,) and there was no where to sit other than on the bed or the toilet. The "business center" on the second floor had desks, but two or more people in that room would be uncomfortably crowded. Also be prepared to wait a while for an elevator. I would have used the stairs the entire time if I wasn't on the 8th floor as it took 5+ minutes to get an elevator. Everything else was great, especially the staff who were always friendly, polite, and helpful. The room was clean and the breakfast area was very nice, but in the future I'll be looking for room dimensions before I choose to stay at a place for a whole weekend. August 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place! Very close to everything! Staff was very helpful and actually able to answer all my questions August 21, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good service, but small room, inconvenient bathroom. No vanity top for toiletries. Small room with no place for luggage. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent Stay We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The condition of the facilty, the service level & friendliness of the staff and the breakfast choices were top notch. We will definately return! August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vintage atmosphere in a great location Hotel Cass has been renovated in wonderful vintage classic decor. Room size is abit tight (a smidge bigger than European hotel space), but that's the way it was back in the day, right? The location is perfect...a block away from Magnificant Mile. The staff was totally professional and complemented the curb appeal of fresh flowered window boxes outside; their greeting every time in and out had to make me smile. Only issue was that, despite offering complimentary breakfast, my morning departure times were earlier than the service both days and there was no work-around despite request the night before...with no frig in the room, it makes leaving at 6am for a10K race and the next day for the airplane quite inconvenient; some flexibility on that point would be nice. August 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience Perfekt location, great hospitality and excellent service - what more can you ask for? Nothing really, allthough the rooms were really small, they were comfortable, well eqiupped and very cosy. We would have liked a bigger bathroom - as that was a little claustrofobic. But overall a great experience. We will definately be back! August 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice staff Room was small and aircon at the hall too loud (I was top floor), but everything was clean, staff was super nice and helpful, breakfast was pleasant and location was excellent. All together, very like. August 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value We really enjoyed our stay at holiday inn. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Room was ready, clean and convenient to everything we wanted to see. I will definitely stay here again. August 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Customer...Will return again and again This was our second stay at this property. super happy once again with everything.
