Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Upgraded to Suite Room Of course a room upgrade is a matter of luck, we have had this fortunate opportunity to stay on one of the 2 suites of the Hotel and it was an amazing experience. Unbelievably large and nicely decorated room with spacious bathroom with delicious tub, living room, bureau, nespresso machine in-room by the bar, ambient music control, and super comfortable King size bed. Superb dinner in-room, by the 24hr restaurant service was quickly served and it was simply great. The proximity to the airport adds valuable extra points, as it allows you have a more relaxed breakfast or simply enjoy the hotel without depending on transport to the airport, helpful staff even helped taking the luggage to the check-in area. Definitely we will choose Intercontinental again in our next passage by Johannesburg airport (even if they do not upgrades us). Cheers, Cassio. 22 September 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Perhaps expecting too much To be honest I was disappointed. I arrived late evening and had to leave for an early flight to Windhoek. Having travelled all day from Europe I was tired, so i did not need any hassle. The first hassle was that the in-room phone did not work. The electric connector had become dislodged and the phone's battery was flat - so I had to walk down to reception to ask for wake-up call. The second hassle is that I was advised that I had to arrive 3 hours before my flight to Namibia. I compormised and arrived two hours before - and was about the first person to arrive. Sensible people had another 1.5 hours in bed - so don't just rpeat the nonsense of check-in times that suit the airlines. That meant my night of rest was about four hours long. So I had very little use of the room and amenities. I was somewhat surprised at the extras put on the bill at check out at 4.30 am. And of curse no breakfast at that time. I just don;t think this IHG hotel is geared for the traveller just wanting a short stopover. Not again - sorry. . 20 September 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience We had 3 wonderful stays in your hotel. We were amazed at the facilities. The staff were extremely helpful, courteous and always smiling. The food was amazing , we had room service after getting in late, and we're pleasantly surprised at the quality and price. The restaurant was wonderful. We would recommend your hotel to anybody going to Johannesburg. Convenient and amazing service. 27 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great rooms and staff There were some issues with the booking because of confusion at IHG worldwide reservations. But the staff at the hotel fixed it. Perfect location, 2 mins walk from airport arrivals. Rooms are spacious with all amenities. Staff is impeccable and the breakfast spread was very good. 24 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I like it here. I cannot decide if I should stay in OR Tambo or Sandton, but being a first timer in Joburg, I want to play it safe especially my flight arrived after dark. It was a very short walk from the airport, a kind taxi driver showed me the correct direction. Nice dinner at Quills after a smooth check-in, simply great food and friendly staffs. After a good night sleep, breakfast can be rather disappointing as buffet selection is rather limited but after a South Africa Breakfast on the second morning, I would recommend the buffet if you need to fill your stomach or simply go into the airport for something cheaper. Comfortable room, I enjoyed the red wine, fruits and coffee from Nespresso machine but there are a few pins sticking out at the end of the carpet and it can bring blood or pain if you are not wearing any foorwear. I left a note on the floor and informed the receptionist during check-out, hope that has been dealt with by now. If I have 1 night for transit, I will be back here, otherwise, I will explore InterContinental Sandton next time and then other IHG hotels in the city. 18 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brief stay but wonderful experience We were welcomed in a most friendly and genuine manner which put us onto the right footing immediately. The room was a delight, and to round it off, an crystal decanter filled with good quality port was sitting on the table. I had to call front desk to confirm that it was , indeed, complimentary, and to my delight it was!. One of the best Intercontinentals I have had the pleasure of staying in. 14 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home from Home We needed a place to recuperate our daughter whom had undergone surgery. We wanted to be close to the airport to return home and stay in a place where my daughter would be comfortable. Our stay was first class, my daughters (one recovering and her sister) did not want to leave the room and if there is anywhere that we would have been more at home would probably be home. The service from staff and the personal handling by the general manager of our situation was exemplary. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. 14 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by They really do care for you! I love this hotel! I stayed there for almost a week in April and could not be happier with the people and their great service. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I had a small issue that was promptly and professionally taken care of. The Guest Relations Manager, Vera Jackson, followed up with a personal letter to me that I really appreciated. I loved their fitness center. Their restaurant served great food. There was an item on their room service menu that was not on their restaurant menu. That was no problem - they cooked it up for me in the restaurant. This is a world class hotel very conveniently situated at the airport. Everything about them is top notch. I'll be back in September and will definitely stay here again. 10 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brilliant Transit Accommodation Arrived at the hotel after a 14 hour flight and a 21 hour travel day. Had to overnight for a connecting flight. The hotel is a short stroll from the main entrance of the airport - a big 'plus' when you are tired and jet lagged. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The room was well appointed, fast wifi, and the room was surprisingly quiet for its location with full blackout curtaining. The restaurant was excellent and the porter service was also of a very high standard. When you are tired you don't want to add another 30 minutes of travel each way to a luxury hotel in, say, Sandton and the bother of organising transport. This hotel is, and remains, my first choice in luxury accommodation when transiting through O.R. Tambo International Airport. 07 August 2013

We rate the experience of staying here in our top three best hotels in the world. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Any request is dealt with efficiently. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best Place to stay if you are going on Safari I just finished a 3 week Safari in South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. There were many flights back to Johannesburg and overnights at the ICJNB. We did this by design to get some rest and let the dust out of our lungs between major camp moves, so in all I stayed 4 nights over three weeks. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean and comfortable and well appointed. The staff was extremely professional and attentive. Quills, the restaurant, was fantastic- honest-fantastic! The menu is varied and everything we tried (except the beef sausage) was tasty and beautifully prepared. The breakfast buffet is extensive offering fresh fruits, pastry's, hot dishes (eggs, sausage, English tomatoes and so on. They offer an al la cart menu as well usually included in the room price. The ICJNB is (flat surface# door to door less than 100 yards from the door of the airport terminal. So close, in fact you can put your bags on a cart at the hotel and push it yourself #once your know the system# to the check-in. Careful, if you get help with your cart only use Hotel staff or vested, official cart pushers at the airport. Caution!. There are sinister people about who will aggressively help you push your cart #before you know what is happening) and demand vast amounts of $$ or perhaps take a bag. Anyway so be warned! IF you are going in and out of the airport or staying the night before departure or of arrival the ICJNB is a solid choice. 28 July 2013

For a short stay the hotel makes a reservation much larger than the room price to cover for the minibar! After more than one week i still don't have the Money back on my credit card. 26 July 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Executive Room without Executive Lounge I was very very disappointed to have learnt about the non-existence of an executive lounge only at time of check-in even though I have booked an executive room. This should have been highlighted clearly to customer. If I have known before, I would not waste my money to book an executive room. 08 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient, Clean and Quiet A clean and quiet hotel built for the traveller who treasures their time in comfort and style even at the unfortunate flight cancellation, is jet-lagged or just sheer convenience for leisure/business. For me as an Ambassador member expectations are always high and when they are exceeded, the enjoyment and memory is lasting. Great staff with an accommodative disposition, wonderful welcome and the treat (welcoming) was definately surprising. You would think the planes would be disturbing-no, didn't even know I was at an airport and enjoyed both the comfortable bed and the breakfast. Requests and help were all done timeously! 28 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent hotel and outstanding restaurant We booked a night at this hotel to adjust to the time difference after travelling from the United States before venturing off on two weeks of safari. What an excellent decision and way to start our vacation. Room was great, massages at the spa, and three excellent meals at Quills restaurant. I travel extesively and can say this is the best hotel restaurant (and one of the best in general) that I have enjoyed. The staff were very pleasant and accomodating. Highly recommend. 25 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by THE Best choice for an overnight at JNB This is my third time at this hotel this year and it really is the most convenient, and overall best choice for business, after a long international flight from North America (via LHR) to Joburg. It is exceptionally convient (located right across the street from the arrivals hall). They have always allowed early check-in; which has been most helpful to drop bags, shower, and make an afternoon meeting. The rooms are very clean, well appointed and very quiet. Over-all if you're connecting on or have buiness Johannesburg, I highly recommend. 20 June 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Airport Convenience great Room This is a great Hotel and so convenient to the International Airport just a short trolly push. I was upgraded to a king room due to my status and the checkin.checkout staff were very helpful. The bed was large and comfortable and fluffy pillows. As I had a 24 hour layover the television programs were plentiful .Its a pity the outside shopping at the airport didnt have duty free or an Out of Africa shop for gifts. On checkout the doorman even offered to help me to the checkin counter great service.Recommend this one. Tinkky. 09 June 2013

Across the board I had efficient, helpful and charming service An excellent hotel on all counts which just happens to be at the airport! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great again.... It is always great to stay here. The rooms are magnificent they truly are. My only complaint as per my last visit is the staff in the small dining room - at breakfast they are great but in the evenings I just dont know, it is always a mission to get a waiter's attention for a drink or top up, it's as though they are just not there. Sad actually as this is probably the third time I have mentioned this, other than that it s a superb hotel. 17 May 2013
