Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great complementary services I was amazed by the range of services you offer to residents guest. However, complementary services should be clearly spelled out to members. Guest need to guided about the min bars in the guest room. I didn't touch them cause there were no clear guidelines and price charges. Overall, you exceeded my expectation and classy. 29 July 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rude Duty Managers I extended my stay twice and in each incident my room was blocked until I swiped my card. The way it was handled by two separate duty managers was insulting and rude. It could have been handled better. The response I got was this is our policy take it or leave it. That is not the way you treat a platinum and ambassador member. Anyway I will use Intercontinental in other countries but not Lusaka, Zambia 08 July 2014

Therefore my exp was much better than the usual noise making rooms and much larger space. Even toiletries are better here. Breakfast was slightly better than 2 weeks before. Thanks, 24 June 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Business stay Acceptable, but not exceptional. Hotel staff are very friendly. Front Desk manager was particularly knowledgeable about local goings-on. Restaurant meals were an excellent value, although prepare yourself for the leisurely pace of meals in Zambia. 23 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service excellent hotel. it has stood the taste of time. one memorable experience was how they secured my car keys when i dropped them in the lift. i dropped my New Ford ranger car keys in the lift well going up to the 6th floor were my room was. i dint know that i have dropped my keys till the following morning. in the morning i checked for my car keys but couldnt find them. went down the lobby and at the reception i was told to check security. security asked for my IDs and the description of the keys and the tag which i gave them. In the meantime my car was already clamped because securiity had discorevered and clamped the car for security reasons. that was very good service. my car keys were picked in the lift or walkways by the cleaners. the cleaners are the ones who passed the keys to security. kudos to both security and cleaners. the gym too is an added advantage. new equipment is needed. 10 June 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Value for money business hotel Intercontinental comes across as a value for money business hotel in Lusaka. Its nicely situated next to Supreme court and Japan Embassy so security is not an issue. 2 large malls in lusaka are 5 mins drive away so you can go eating and drinking there. Improvement is required in the number of desk staff at reception. There are 3 monitors but always only 1 person. Also the IHG club reception desk is always empty. Overall a recommended property. 29 April 2014

I have requested a copy of my bill to include room charges 4 times and not response from this hotel. this makes the experience, very poor at this hotel. 21 April 2014

An air of complete indifference to guests paying around USD200 per night for the privelege. Serious training is required ! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room but not a god experience Being a woman by herself I experienced the following: 1. Phone calls during th night waking me up and then stopping 2. Wake up calls - either not done or when cancelled still made. 3. Room service - As I was ill I wanted the food the doctor told me to eat which was simple. I waned chicken & rice only but was given a full dinner instead and was charged for it. 3 times the meal had to be taken back. The staff had been told but it took a long itime for it to be understood. 3. I found that the male staff did not treat me with respect. 31 October 2013

I appreaciate the services of all the staff that I dealt with and I just can not take away anything from their reputation and good standing. Please keep it up and the hotel shall always be my first point of call whenever I visit Lusaka. 01 August 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Internet The internet was down throughout most of my stay. Since I stay at the Intercontinental largely because I am assured of internet accessibility among other things, so this is an issue for me. While I understand the difficulties of providing internet all the time, particularly in Africa, I found the lack of internet service for several days during this stay excessive. What I found more disturbing, however, was the loss of my weekend certificate which I presented upon check in, but found it was not credited to my account. That certificate is an Ambassador member privilege which, in this case, cost me a free night's stay. I mentioned this at check out when the certificate was not credited to my account, but the staff told me it would be credited back to my credit card because I had paid in advance. Clearly, that has not yet happened so I'd like to have that done immediately. Overall the experience was adequate, but these issues made the stay less than desirable. 23 June 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ordinary Stayed for 12 nights in Feb-March and was disappointed with one thing or the other every day. Really Dated rooms especially bathrooms, Moisturizing lotions had a best before date of Dec-12 and they were still being used. Forgetful staff, No turn down service for 2 days, when asked why it was not done," I must have got busy with something else". Would miss one amenity or the other everyday. Asked the front desk to organize boxed breakfast for me, instead of organist it i was given the number to room service to call them myself. Quality of Room Service Food & Beverage was below par, Worst icecream i have ever had in my life along with some other ordinary food. Left feedback with customer care over a week ago and no response as yet. Overall - Disappointing 30 March 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very un comfortable bed and very poor service I'm very disappointed with my stay at this hotel,I have been staying at this hotel for the past 30 years and this was my worst stay ever at this hotel. The person who checked me in gave me a temporary room of which he never came back to tell me that my room was read,when I called the reception I was told to wait ,eventually I went to the reception and I was given a room which had no towels. I'm not returning to this hotel again. 05 March 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Typical comfort of an IHG hotel. Getting on but what the hotel lacks in mod cons, the friendly helpful staff make up for in spades. All round comfortable stay up to Intercontinental expectations of service. Is dated and a little tired and could do with a refurb but clean is good! Staff right on the mark welcoming repeat guests and Ambassador members. My only gripe is pay for Internet. I think we have gone past the days of pay for Internet. So many smaller hotels offer it now it seems unnecessary to do so. It is an essential requirement of business travellers these days. Otherwise well done, I will return. 26 January 2013

Though difficult to single out a particular staff, yet Mrs Mugala of Lusaka's Intercontinental hotel was excellent. Almost all staff were addressing me by name after my second night. Restaurant staff were courteous and eagerly and professionally serving with a smile. They seem to enjoy their work and one felt welcome. The food was well prepared. The chef must be commended for a job well done! The fitness center staff were helpful and diligent in their work too. The only challenge was that there was NO complimentary internet service. I urge the hotel to seriously consider providing complimentary internet service to Gold Ambassador members. All in all, I am delighted to continue to be a Gold Ambassador member. I would recommend the hotel to anybody, any time. 23 January 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel, horrible and costly internet This is a good hotel with basic but comfortable rooms and staff that are helpful. The biggest issue I have with this hotel is the horrible internet and the cost associated with the internet. I have now stayed at the Intercon-Lusaka 4 times and two within the last two months. On each stay the internet was unusably slow in the room and often did not connect to the internet. This was not the case in the lobby where connection issues never occurred and speed was sufficient. But it is highly inconvenient having to go down to the lobby whenever you need to connect. So for an internet service with is horrible in room, the Intercon charges USD 12 per day. That is a ridiculous price for what they offer. Each visit I have commented on this to staff, but nothing changes. Intercon would be a much better stay if they addressed this issue. While I like the other aspects of the hotel, I am considering not staying at the Intercon on my next trip as I need consistent internet access to do my work. 16 January 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This hotel does not set out to provide good sevice Very disapointed in this hotel. Poor service and poor food. Examples. Service. Everone trained to tell me to have a good day but service generally very very slow. Too many staff doing nothing. Before breakfast man arrives to seal the mini bar. While I am in the shower the man arrives to make up the room, it is now 8 am. Room made up to a different standard each day. Food Breakfast OK Lunch and Dinner. Food poor, tried daily special offer ie Kudu, Goat and Crocodile. This food was tough or cremated on the barbercue. Could not eat. In the end decided best policy was to take just soup and a sweet. To order a bowl of "soup of the day" took 30 minutes to arrive without any bread which took another 10 minutes to arrive. The buffet attracted loads of flies and there was no effort to keep them off. 21 November 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good..Can be even better Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the hotel services. Food is great but i think the buffet dinners are overpriced. There is need for a dual rate for breakfast (continetal versus Full English). House keeping is Good but responsiveness can be improved. i had to make 3 phone calls (over a period of 4 hours) to get a bottle of water delivered to the room. The bathtubs are shockingly small! I could barely stretch my legs even in a seated position and I am not tall! Sharon (Guest relations) deserves specific recommendations. She is very knowledgeable about the town and its happenings and willing to offer advice and mke necesarry arrangements. She did an an excellent job of recommenidng restaurants and managing to keep her (friendly) cool anytime of day or nite. It would help to have CITY street maps that are actually legible. The health club is fantastic and great value. The equipment in the gym is a bit dated and could do with an upgrade,. 23 October 2012

Previous visits used the 'Priority Club Members' lounge...very poor. Internet connection unreliable. Main reason for me - great health club. 06 October 2012
