I was given the best ever reception by Hotel Management and staff. They decided to upgrade my stay without my knowledge. I only came to know it on my departure. This appreciation of my persona was unexpected by me to an extent that up to now I am still wondering why they did this. Everybody was anticipating my arrival and worked towards making my stay happy.
Job well done and keep it up

Inters Lusaka is the best in town with great quality of service at the business centre, its open from 6am to 11pm, enough to do all the work one has for the day, its the only hotel that offers such services in Lusaka.

I stayed at the Intercontinental from august 13th until check-out august 17th. And I returned on the august 24th until check-out on august 27th. The staff were extremely polite and attentive to our need. It was absolutely the best time ever. The food was superb, and the staff very informative and obliging to our questions and enquiries. I will defenitely choose Intercontinenal for furture visits to Lusaka.

Refer to previous comments on inadequate supplies in the room and bathroom. Entertainment on Tv should include guest choice of channel and be rejected on reason.

This is a warm welcome after traveling a long distance a glass of juice is something on cherish.
On the other hand, welcome visitors to the rooms and teach them how to use facilities in the room. Don't take it for granted, there are others who find themselves in such hotels because of work and don't know how to operate such facilities

Having stayed in this hotel each time I have visited Lusaka the standard stays very high, particularly the attitude of all the staff to guests.
My only negative comment would be that the bathroom fixtures need refurb.

This is quite comfortable, safe and convenient property, with friendly staff. The property is by no means luxurious: the elevator, rooms and common areas look a bit dated and sometimes shabby. The food is good enough, with the exception of a very high quality Italian restaurant. Service in the restaurants can sometimes be slow but it is always attentive and eager to help.

I was amazed by the range of services you offer to residents guest. However, complementary services should be clearly spelled out to members. Guest need to guided about the min bars in the guest room. I didn't touch them cause there were no clear guidelines and price charges. Overall, you exceeded my expectation and classy.

I extended my stay twice and in each incident my room was blocked until I swiped my card. The way it was handled by two separate duty managers was insulting and rude. It could have been handled better. The response I got was this is our policy take it or leave it. That is not the way you treat a platinum and ambassador member. Anyway I will use Intercontinental in other countries but not Lusaka, Zambia

This time was my 5th stay here and i was upgraded (thankfully). Therefore my exp was much better than the usual noise making rooms and much larger space. Even toiletries are better here. Breakfast was slightly better than 2 weeks before.

Acceptable, but not exceptional.
Hotel staff are very friendly. Front Desk manager was particularly knowledgeable about local goings-on.
Restaurant meals were an excellent value, although prepare yourself for the leisurely pace of meals in Zambia.

excellent hotel. it has stood the taste of time. one memorable experience was how they secured my car keys when i dropped them in the lift. i dropped my New Ford ranger car keys in the lift well going up to the 6th floor were my room was. i dint know that i have dropped my keys till the following morning. in the morning i checked for my car keys but couldnt find them. went down the lobby and at the reception i was told to check security. security asked for my IDs and the description of the keys and the tag which i gave them.
In the meantime my car was already clamped because securiity had discorevered and clamped the car for security reasons. that was very good service. my car keys were picked in the lift or walkways by the cleaners. the cleaners are the ones who passed the keys to security. kudos to both security and cleaners.
the gym too is an added advantage. new equipment is needed.

On two occasions, food run out in Club Lounge and on one, it was never replenished while on the other it was but with some delay. Opening a pan which is empty is somehow embarrassing.

Intercontinental comes across as a value for money business hotel in Lusaka. Its nicely situated next to Supreme court and Japan Embassy so security is not an issue. 2 large malls in lusaka are 5 mins drive away so you can go eating and drinking there.
Improvement is required in the number of desk staff at reception. There are 3 monitors but always only 1 person. Also the IHG club reception desk is always empty.
Overall a recommended property.

Everything was fine until i checked out. to this day, i still cannot get a copy of my full billing details. they only provided me with a bill for extras. I have requested a copy of my bill to include room charges 4 times and not response from this hotel. this makes the experience, very poor at this hotel.

The service at this hotel in reception and restaurant is really poor and slow. An air of complete indifference to guests paying around USD200 per night for the privelege.
Serious training is required !
Except for Beatrice in the Business centre who was beathtakingly efficient and helpful.

Being a woman by herself I experienced the following:
1. Phone calls during th night waking me up and then stopping
2. Wake up calls - either not done or when cancelled still made.
3. Room service - As I was ill I wanted the food the doctor told me to eat which was simple. I waned chicken & rice only but was given a full dinner instead and was charged for it. 3 times the meal had to be taken back. The staff had been told but it took a long itime for it to be understood.
3. I found that the male staff did not treat me with respect.

I really enjoyed my stay and this will go a long way in my memory. I appreaciate the services of all the staff that I dealt with and I just can not take away anything from their reputation and good standing. Please keep it up and the hotel shall always be my first point of call whenever I visit Lusaka.

The internet was down throughout most of my stay. Since I stay at the Intercontinental largely because I am assured of internet accessibility among other things, so this is an issue for me. While I understand the difficulties of providing internet all the time, particularly in Africa, I found the lack of internet service for several days during this stay excessive.
What I found more disturbing, however, was the loss of my weekend certificate which I presented upon check in, but found it was not credited to my account. That certificate is an Ambassador member privilege which, in this case, cost me a free night's stay. I mentioned this at check out when the certificate was not credited to my account, but the staff told me it would be credited back to my credit card because I had paid in advance. Clearly, that has not yet happened so I'd like to have that done immediately.
Overall the experience was adequate, but these issues made the stay less than desirable.

Stayed for 12 nights in Feb-March and was disappointed with one thing or the other every day.
Really Dated rooms especially bathrooms, Moisturizing lotions had a best before date of Dec-12 and they were still being used.
Forgetful staff, No turn down service for 2 days, when asked why it was not done," I must have got busy with something else". Would miss one amenity or the other everyday.
Asked the front desk to organize boxed breakfast for me, instead of organist it i was given the number to room service to call them myself.
Quality of Room Service Food & Beverage was below par,
Worst icecream i have ever had in my life along with some other ordinary food.
Left feedback with customer care over a week ago and no response as yet.

I'm very disappointed with my stay at this hotel,I have been staying at this hotel for the past 30 years and this was my worst stay ever at this hotel.
The person who checked me in gave me a temporary room of which he never came back to tell me that my room was read,when I called the reception I was told to wait ,eventually I went to the reception and I was given a room which had no towels.
I'm not returning to this hotel again.
