Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 772 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Somewhat over rated The hotel was AWESOME! We were able to get a room with a view of the Port of Miami, which is great for anyone cruising from Miami. The 'complimentary' Continental breakfast wasn't very impressive and the gym was ok but not worth using, it had absolutely NO ab machines. The building's 'light show' at night was alright and something new and fun. However, without the drapes closed the lights will flash in the room at night when it is time to sleep. I really liked the location. Walking distance from Bayside marketplace, Bayfront park, and the American Airlines Arena. Overall I feel like I had a good experience, it was a little pricey but it was worth it. If I ever go back to Miami I will definitely book a room at the Intercontinental. 20 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best holiday ever! I had high hopes for this holiday including the hotel, and I was not disappointed. We stayed at the Intercontinental for two weeks and had a fabulous time. The hotel itself is great, plenty of amenities, wifi, gym, pool, nice lobby, bars etc, also well positioned to visit local attractions. What made the holiday special though was the treatment by the staff. As we were there two weeks, we got to know a number of them and they really made us feel welcome, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We had access to the club lounge, which we used for breakfast and evening snacks and Elvin who works there deserves a special mention. My two year old son likes a certain type of breakfast cereal the hotel didn't have, so one morning on his way to work, he stopped off and bought some for my little boy. That is service above and beyond. Others who were great in the lounge were Killy and Florangel. But the good service extended through the hotel with Pier on the main door who always played with our kids and two of the front desk managers Natalie and Stephanie who went out of their way to help. I wish we could have stayed longer and will without doubt stay in the same hotel again, next time I am in Miami. I had thought the hotel was a five star, but understand it is only four. However it should be a five and as a seasoned traveller, there are not many five star hotels I have stayed In around the world better than this one. My family and I had a fantastic time in Miami for many reasons with everything we got to see and do, but the hotel contributed hugely to making this holiday one of the best I've ever had. 20 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel for Business or Leisure! I've stayed at the IC Miami about 6 times in the last few months; mostly for work, but often staying over the weekends for fun. With their newly completed renovation the hotel itself is stunning. It fits in perfectly with the flashy Miami scene. The lobby is open and welcoming with a great bar and restaurant. The rooms are all great as well. I usually get a harbor view room, which has an amazing view of South Beach and the ocean. The club lounge is also definitely worth the extra money; great breakfast every morning, tea in the afternoons, and wine, beer, cocktails, and appetizers in the evenings. Perfect way to unwind after work and to relax before going out on the weekends. The service and food at Toro Toro is also amazing. I don't usually eat or drink in hotels, but this bar is always packed and my friends are always happy to meet me here and enjoy the scene and the drinks. Dinner and brunch are also great. The $35 bottomless brunch is a great twist on the usual all you can eat; rather than a buffet they bring dozens of small plates so you can try a bit of everything. There are so many great things and you can actually try them all! The location is also great for those on business and staying over the weekend. It's right between Brickell and South Beach, which is perfect for access to downtown offices during the week and Brickell and South Beach during the weekend. If you're looking to experience Miami for business or leisure I highly recommend this hotel! 17 August 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very helpful staff! We stayed here after disembarking from a cruise and so arrvied very early. They took our bags, allowed us to use the pool and advised us to check back at 10 am to see if we could check in early. They were able to check us in early and the room was amazing! Clean and comfortable with an amazing view!! 07 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Hotel I was kind of nervous about reserving this hotel, because sometimes what you see online is far from the truth. But I have to say that my group was very very pleased with the overall apperance, cleanliness, the decor, and the staff. This was probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. It's only been a week since our stay, and I have already recommended this hotel to several people. The location was perfect. The 3 minute walk to Bayside was great. The only negative thing I have to say is, the breakfast was to expensive. I believe it was $23 per person for buffet. We decided to walk somewhere nearby to get breakfast. Other than that, great hotel. 07 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love coming here!!!! From check in to check out was completly excellent. I came for my 40th birthday and I tell you from the valet to the concierge and everybody in between made my stay here magical. The front desk sent not one but 2 bottles of champagne and called to see if there was anything I needed from day to day, Had a great room that overlooked the bay area where I was able to see clearly the firework display that was going on in South Beach. Ive been to many Intercontinetal hotels and will always remember Tampa Bay and Miami as the best. Make sure you take a walk to Bayside where you can party unitl 3 a.m. I rate this Hotel a Pure 10 on my list of hotels that I would go to again. Make sure you become a member of the IHG Club the perks go along way 06 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Update to Club Level not worth it I paid $36.00 extra per night to upgrade to club level. I though there would be more variety in the food offerings each day. Should have just stayed in a regular room like the others in our party. No hotel shuttle to/from airport. 05 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Splendid I have stayed in numerous 5 star hotels; but nothing compares to the superior staff, ambience, and luxury at the Intercontinental. Down to the food, catering services, everyone was very professional and made you feel like you were "first". . (the only person there)! I had an amazing stay at the Intercontiinental Hotel. Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for making my stay the "best ever". Ms. B 05 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Time!! Our experience at intercontinental was wonderful. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, large bathrooms with lots of counter space. 04 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellant value Everything about this hotel was great.....only negative was the $61 breakfast for 2...that needs to be cut in half to be reasonable.....other than that i would definitely stay there again...and just get breakfast somewhere else. 30 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff, but hotel did not deliver as promised We stayed in a room with a large bathroom and 2 double beds. The staff was super friendly, the lobby was nice and spacious, the spa even had lemon water out for guests to enjoy. The hotel itself was located near a shopping center (sort of an outdoor mall) with restaurants which made it convenient to walk to. ...The bad thing was that my husband called ahead & ordered a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting and a plain vanilla cake, and champagne. He paid $$$ for it, and spoke to an associate that ensured him he would get the cake that I so very much wanted. The cake arrived, and while it had beautiful chocolate decor, it was not what he had ordered. When he called he was told a strawberry cake with strawberry frosting was not on the menu, but an associate checked with the pastry chef and assured him they would accommodate his request. The cake was plain vanilla with a thin strawberry filling and a super sweet white frosting. It was tooooooooo sweet! I love sweets and I couldn't finish the cake. Sadly, he paid lots of money for it. 30 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sometimes You Just Get Lucky Just back from attending the Miami Swim Show and stayed at the Intercontinental Miami and had a terrific stay. Didn't realize there was a Miami Convention Center and a Miami Beach Convention Center and ended up staying near the wrong convention center. But sometimes you just get lucky. Not far from the Miami Beach Convention Center, which was were I had to be and judging by friends who stayed elsewhere, we really received great value. The hotel is beautiful,, the staff are extremely helpful and I would highly recommend staying here any time you are in Miami and don't need a beach. And the concierge booked a fabulous restaurant for us in Coconut Grove which was a truly memorable experience. 30 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room issues Why can't the clock be set to the correct time? And why do you need to get engineering to come and set the time? Really, I have advanced college degrees, I should be able to set a clock by myself ! Also, I'm there for 3 nights, the hotel knows that. Why did housekeeping keep taking my only used once shampoo? One bottle would have been perfect for my entire stay! Such a waste 30 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay at Intercontinental Miami The front desk staff was amazingly friendly; they were on it! Letitia especially was outstanding when I checked in. I appreciate their hospitality. The bell staff was also lightning quick--as soon as we'd approach the hotel, they were right there to grab doors and welcome us. Outstanding visit. 29 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Very caring, and professional staff. Everyone seemed to have a genuine warmth and care for my comfort. 29 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff Front Desk Manager, Bar Manager & Concierge went out of their way to help. Great hotel and staff exceeded expectations. 28 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great facilities and service Our family stayed just one night in Miami in a family room and really enjoyed the experience, the room was clean, quiet, the staff were friendly and knowledgable, the breakfast buffet was very nice and the waiter was knowledgable and helpful when requesting gluten free products for one of my family. 27 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JULY 4TH CELEBRATION Had front row for 4th of July fireworks. Stay was wonderful and room was fantastic, view of downtown and partial of the bay - could not have asked for anything better!! Loved it so much planning next trip back. No long hallways for late nighters coming back from parties to wake everyone up. Rooms area was very quiet. 25 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic for business and Thank your for a wonderful experience. Li at the Front Office was fabulous and the restaurant was terrific for Saturday brunch! 25 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and Beautiful. 12 of us stayed at the intercontinental prior to leaving for a cruise. We all, of course, had separate rooms and each one of us was satisfied with their experience. My only complaint, but I guess it is about Hotels everywhere, is that with the price of the room either breakfast, lunch or dinner should be given depending upon you check in time. The restaurants are always a little pricey in hotels and although the Intercontinental's restaurant looked beautiful I knew I would be better off looking for local fair. The location of the hotel was perfect walking distance to everything and the rooms were comfortable and clean. I would stay again if ever in Miami. 21 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent localization and great service The hotel has excellent location, you can walk to the Bayside Shopping Mall. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Has two good restaurants, one of them the 'Toro Toro', is excellent. The breakfast is very complete and the guest still has the option of an 'Starbucks' if you want a quick snack. The room is huge and has wonderful beds. The bathroom is also huge, with a great shower. The fridge has automatic billing system, however, if the guest prefer, he may request the removal of the items inside to use the fridge by placing inside your own food and drinks, against payment of a small fee . However, the amount charged to park the car is expensive, although it occurs with all the Hotels. 19 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Conference Convenience We held a one day conference and the experience was great. Everything was taken care of such as room set up, food, coffee, and breaks. We had some small requests from our participants and the employees were fast to respond to the requests. Our conference ran over and no one came in to disturb us, which was nice and they allowed us to finish. Many thanks. 17 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Hotel. Great Price. We stayed there on our honeymoon and then again for our 20th anniversary. The hotel was just as beautiful as it was 20 yrs ago. Monique at the front desk treated us as if we were royalty. Thanks again for a great stay! 16 July 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Underwhelming, Disappointing, etc. I recently stayed at the Intercontinental in downtown Miami for two nights. I have stayed at other Intercontinental properties across the world in the past, and have never been disappointed. As they say, there's a first time for everything. I received useless restaurant recommendations from both the receptionist and the concierge. On the first night, when asked what we should be sure to check out, the receptionist directed us to a nearby "market" which prominently features a Hard Rock Cafe. When asking for guidance on what to see and where to eat in South Beach, we were given a map with an approximately 1.5 mile area circled on it, and no specific recommendations. I've received better recommendations from low-rate in-flight magazines. And then there was the spa. I was first directed to the "relaxation lounge," which might have been relaxing, had a spa manager not barged in with some sort of prospective business partner while offering her a tour. It seems that it would have been very easy to have checked to see if the room was empty before barging in unannounced. I booked a massage and a facial. Despite being billed the "mymassage," whose tagline is "Your time. Your experience. We believe in offering a truly personalized massage experience," I was not consulted at all concerning what I would like, beyond filling out a form which seemed to be completely ignored. The therapist chose not to work on getting out the horrendous knots in my back, which was the primary reason for which I booked the massage, but approached the massage as though it were one in an assembly line. I much would have preferred to have had more time spent on my aching, painful back and shoulders, and less time spent receiving "Indian burns" (pardon the phrase) on my thighs, but my feedback was not solicited, and I did not feel comfortable offering it, as it was clear that the massage therapist had a program she intended to follow. I then received the facial, which was mediocre. The therapist tried to "up-sell" me to a pricier service mid-facial (as though the $300 total on services I was spending as-is was not sufficient). More importantly, I woke up the next morning with a large, unsightly infected scab on my chin. So much for returning to work looking refreshed. Still hasn't gone away a week later. I was not informed of the steam room and related services until after receiving my massage and facial, at which point I was told it would be best not to use them. While I was offered a voucher to come back and use these facilities the next day, I was leaving on an early flight. The spa helpfully (and unilaterally) decided that the experience warranted a 20-percent tip; while I normally voluntarily give tips of 30-percent or even greater on spa services, this was not one such occasion. I ordered room service for breakfast one morning; when I left the tray outside in the hallway, it was not picked up until late in the evening, which I found a little bit off-putting. I prefer not to have to look at a half-eaten omelette (which, by the way, was worse than any omelette I've ever had at Denny's, for quadruple the price) every time I enter or exit my room. I have never left a negative review of a hotel, restaurant, etc. in my life, but felt compelled to do so for the first time based on the overwhelmingly negative experience that I had at the Miami Intercontinental. Go somewhere else. 16 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Location This hotel is in the perfect location. Walking distance to Bayside Market and the bus stop is close by that will take you to South Beach for $4 round trip. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, well kept and the concierge is very helpful. I had a small problem with room cleanliness but the front desk switched my room immediately. Starbucks in the lobby is a plus too! This is the place to stay in Miami! 15 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 4th Of July Getaway It was a relaxing experience which was what we were looking for. Great service and accommodations overall. 15 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Valet parking and access to concierge lounge I have stayed at several iIntercontinental or partner hotels in the pass. As a Platinum member I have always received access to the Concierge Lounge, at the Miami Intercontinental I requested access and was denied. Furthermore, during previous stays as a Platinum Memebr I have been waived the Valet Parking, for example the Concha Hotel in Key West. At the Miami Intercontinental I was charged the full amount of $36 for my vehicle and my daughters vehicle. The staff I found very friendly and accomodating, however, I would not recommend this hotel to friends due to the above listed reasons. 15 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Summer and July 4th at Miami Intercontinental My family thoroughly enjoyed staying at Miami Intercontinental Hotel. We stayed for six days. From day one we were bowled over by the excellent service of ALL the staff. The professional service yet friendly demeanor was unique for us having just visited two other countries. The hotel has an incredible location matched by well appointed facilities. The pulsating entertainment of neighboring Bayside is balance with the serenity of the hotels spa, pool and fifth level garden. After a previous tiring trip, we welcomed the cozy bedding that afforded us deep and restful sleep on a busy vacation schedule. Etched in our memories is our July 4th (2013) experience. The frenzy of music, incredible food, front row view of a bustling harbor of leisure crafts and July 4th Fireworks highlighted Miami's Intercontinental hotel great location. We enjoyed steak dinner that night at the Toro Toro restaurant. Perfect steak is what we got.... i would recommend the Miami Intercontinental Hotel unreservedly. 13 July 2013
