Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful setting but some aspects disappointing I was part of a bridal party for a wedding recently and the wedding itself was a beautiful day, however there were several things which left me leaving feeling disappointed. I checked in at lunch time so was early, and was told my room wasn't ready at that point. However when I returned later on that afternoon I was told that my room had actually been ready when I checked in but I didn't take my key, which was news to me. I was also given no information about anything in the resort and had to ask other guests where breakfast was as they had received a full briefing. The set up for the wedding was great, it really did look fantastic but the coordinator was running on island time and was at times really difficult to track down. This meant that certain smaller issues during the wedding set up period the day of, were needlessly stressful when better communication and visibility would have remedied that. One thing which I thought was a bit of a hassle is that you do not offer steaming services for gowns & suits, and you have to borrow the steamer and do it yourself! As far as the wedding reception, one suggestion I would have is that the bridal table is served food when it is a buffet option. I have never been to a wedding where the bride & groom had to serve themselves and a lot of guests actually commented on this. My stay at intercon was overall a good one, however it was very expensive. The thing is, you do expect to pay more at resorts, and this wouldn't be a problem if the quality of service, food & beverage matched the prices but it didn't. Toba bar & grill especially had very average food and the waiting times were terrible! I have to say though the buffet breakfast was great. I also just wanted to note as well, that we had as a group come from spending a couple of days in denarau, and whilst the intercon has a beautiful location, the general customer service & friendliness of staff was far superior in Denarau. 17 November 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The Club We recently stayed at The Intercontinental Fiji. This was our 4th visit. We have always stayed in the Club but on this occasion, when i booked (and after they accepted our booking) they came back and advised us that the club was now adults only and they would not budge from their new policy. As valued customers I thought that they may somehow compensate us due to the changes but no, not even breakfast was included. I then proceeded to ring other hotels and they were throwing everything at us - free upgrade, breakfast included, kids club included, resort credit, tours, etc) We decided to stay with The Intercon as we have always been happy with the accommodation and always look forward to catching up with the staff. When we arrived and told the managers our dilemma and although sympathetic, nothing was done. During our stay we found out that there were a few families staying in the Club with young children. We were a bit annoyed and spoke to management, their reply was they must have booked prior to policiy changing. Management seem to think policy changed start of August, we booked 1st August. Obviously we are not valued customers as i would have thought a good gesture would have been to hold our booking and explain the situation for the future. Apparently complaints were made that kids were being too loud in the club and policy was changed. These people that complained will prob never come back. Its a bit sad to think policy was changed for these people and not the people that come back year after year. On our last night we were given vouchers for our next stay, a little bittersweet. Staff also need to be trained on which cards are valid re loyalty cards as everyone seemed to have a different view on when the IHG rewards card could be used. Overall we do love staying at The Intercon but next year will def shop around for a different hotel 17 November 2014

For a very large hotel the place has a cheerful and friendly ambience thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. 15 November 2014

From the minute we arrived we had problems I had been making the booking for months back & forth & when I arrived I was told the room that was booked was a king room not the twin room I had booked so we then had to sit with our 3yr old waiting for them to find us the correct room as you can imagine we were very tired & frustrated. The shower in our room also was broken & was not fixed! The first night we went to dinner in the bar near the pool my entire stay I was never offered a drink I had to constantly go to the bar myself. Also just asking for water for the table, one night I waited 1 1/2hrs just for a glass of water. Another night I asked for a drink at 9:15pm & I was told the bar was closed I was very disappointed as we had not even finished our meal. The first night we ordered bread as a starter & we waited 55 mins for it to arrive. We had attended your resort for the wedding of my brother in law & as this was a very special occasion we felt very upset with the overall experience. The only service I can say that was fantastic was the service from Milly our Nanny she was fantastic she was always on time & was an absolute treasure to work with. 12 November 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, warm staff - Good times! Loved the stunning location and beach. Service was terrific - the Fijians are so warm and caring. The room was comfortable however the bathrooms are showing signs of wear and tear and could do with an upgrade. The food and variety were terrific and we loved the daily fire ceremony and the entertainment from local Fijians. 11 November 2014

I stayed at the resort for business and what a pleasure is was to stay at your resort. Vara was an exceptional host - a wealth of knowledge and a lovely personality. I enjoyed every aspect of the resort - dining, facilities, ambiance, room style and inclusions - outstanding! I cannot wait to come back with my partner to show him how wonderful the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is. 11 November 2014
