De La Ville Roma

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 148 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely stay We stayed at the InterContinental for a special birthday and anniversary. We weren't sure what to expect from this city centre (ish) hotel but were pleased. There aren't many facilities (no pool for example) but it is a very pleasant place to stay (the roof top restaurant is lovely) and the staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive. The executive room we had was nicely furnished. It is an excellent location being very close to the Spanish Steps. The local area is not cheap (keep an eye out for some very expensive places to eat and drink) but there are places nearby that offer good food at rasonable prices if you look for them. Overall we had a lovely stay and would certainly recommend it. 30 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Club Lounge Concierge There was none! Concierge: obliging, knowledgeable, helpful 26 June 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great central location - but at a price! Great location, but only use the hotel as a 'base' for your stay.... dine and drink elsewhere 25 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Location in Rome This hotel is perfectly situated at the top of the Spanish Steps in the heart of Rome. We were able to walk everywhere. There is a beautiful city park just a block away that overlooks the entire city. Every employee was extremely friendly and helpful. We didn't have any problems during our stay. The room was comfortable and we had plenty of amenities in the room (coffee, outlets, bathroom supplies, etc). The only downside was that they charged an additional 90 Euros per night for my child in the room. We had a roll-away bed added to the room for her. That was a bit steep, especially since we got the room using reward nights. To be fair though, the hotel contacted us immediately after we made the reservation to notify us that there would be this additional charge and to verify that we would accept it; so it wasn't a surprise. For a couple, this is the perfect deal, though. 20 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Concierge Concierge service is just excellent. I have asked to book a nice restaurant and we got Michelin star restaurant with the view of the city and best table at the veranda. Concierge done everything to find the best deal from car rentals. 19 June 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed The hotel is in a great location, which is why I chose it. Walking up the Spanish Steps every day was a great way to allow us to eat pasta and gelato to our hearts content! The breakfast was fantastic and giving us free internet one month before all IC hotels instituted the policy was another plus. Everyone on the hotel staff was extremely helpful. That being said, the room was supposed to be "deluxe" for 3 people but was rather small and very dark. Given we had been traveling all through Europe on this trip, we felt the room was a bit pricey for what it was. Hotel definitely needs some sprucing up! This is not our first trip to Rome and we will most likely be back again. Unlikely we will choose this hotel upon our return visit or recommend it to our friends traveling to the eternal city. 18 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely Hotel with fantastic service A beautiful hotel in a great location. All the staff from the cleaners to the concierge are extremely helpful and make you feel welcome. A brilliant hotel, I look forward to another stay soon. Thank you. 18 June 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average stay Disappointing stay. Had lots of issues with noise from other guest rooms, children screaming, doors slamming, noise from the restaurant above plus outside traffic noise. Disturbed sleep Bed not comfy king bed was 2 singles pushed together! Poor responsiveness from staff regarding the issues with no solutions. Maybe I received a poor room I was staying using ihg reward club points ? 18 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect! This was the perfect location. (Close to the airport)with a perfect room (upgraded to an executive suite w/balcony) with a perfect view (all of rome above the spanish steps) and a perfected staff (went above and beyond to please). I love this hotel. I may have to save forever (you get what you pay for) but its worth every penny! 17 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great nights stay great location for exploring Roma, helpful staff and nice breakfast 16 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gracious service, a solid sleep, and location!!! A lovely experience from pre-arrvial to check-out due to the well-trained and welcoming staff. The decor is typically not our taste (traditional), however it was suitable for an old property and the room was mostly in good repair and tastefully done. The bathroom was the only downfall as it felt old and as such not fresh/clean. We loved the ability to roll down the exterior window shutters allowing for a solid night of sleep (room was quiet and dark). The view from the rooftop bar can't be beat. Although a little pricy, drinks come with light snacks and it was well worth the price for the view. (Do not bother with the lobby bar unless you are desperate for a drink. It seems as though it was an afterthought where they placed a temporary white plastic bar in a prime public area of a beautiful building. Quite cheesy actually and we were surprised to see this at this property). Ambassador recognition was solid and included a nice upgrade to an executive room with terrace, and a welcome amenity of lovely apricots, mineral water, a bottle of wine and a 4pm checkout. (If you are not an Ambassador I strongly suggest it for the late checkout alone) Although expensive, the breakfast is served in a lovely courtyard and allowed for a relaxing start to the day. We preferred this to spending time searching for other options. Oh... the location is pretty good as well! In fact is is exceptional! Using points certainly increased our perceived value for our stay, however we would definitely stay here again if the room would be comparable to the one we received. 15 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect hotel for a memorable stay in Rome Beautiful hotel with wonderful, friendly staff. Lovely views across Rome, including the Pantheon and St Peter's. Thank you all for a lovely stay. 12 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience! We loved the location of the De La Ville Roma right at the top of the Spanish Steps. We had a delightful dinner on the rooftop…one of our best in Rome. The entire staff was very helpful and accessible from the beginning of our stay until the end. I would definitely stay there again. 11 June 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location This IC hotel is nicely location near shopping and tourism sights. The hotel is at an old building, but well maintained and very clean. Good rooms with comfortable beds, small bathrooms, but go you to Rome to be outside not to go and rest at a hotel. Breakfast is very good, ample selection and good service. The hotel has a panoramic floor for drinks and dinner, its a wonderful ambiance and cannot think of a nicer place to end a visit to Rome. Overall, a nice hotel and well worth it price. 11 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Charming hotel nice ambiance Great location for Rome, very friendly staff, great bar service, nice rooms but small, hotel has a nice ambiance. 09 June 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old but not so charnimg Although it had a great location, was expecting old world charm but the charm was just not there. 08 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, good staff, Great location, good staff, my grandkids loved the experience. The location at the top of the Spanish steps was perfect for restaurants and shopping. 03 June 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 床铺舒适,服务一流 床铺舒适,服务一流,地段很好,前台和礼宾态度都非常积极与专业,房间很新很舒服,但也保留了老建筑的韵味,是很好的选择 02 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beaufiul Hotel and Great Location Wonderful buffet breakfast in a beautiful and elegant surrounding. Rooms are great with very comfortable beds and pillows 01 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel I like Rome specially by staying in this hotel .. The staff are helpful 30 May 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location but not up to normal IC standards This place has one of the best locations in Rome. Despite it's relatively expensive rates it let's itself down by lapses in service standards. Some examples: We arrived on Sat evening, received a message, but despite telling Concierge and Front Desk staff twice daily it wasn't until Tues night that red light on both room phones was turned off. Concierge seemed disinterested not overly friendly Room cleaning left 2 used glasses on table after servicing room Turn down occurred on first night but not next two, last night ok after mentioning to Front Desk staff. Good friendly service in Lobby Bar and Doorman These may sound minor but not acceptable in such an establishment 23 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mrs jane castronovo excellent location , lovely hotel, great staff. would return again 20 May 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad communication and expensive hotel We were pretty disappointed with this 5 star hotel. We found the room to be cramped (and we were upgraded due to my gold ambassador status) so I would've hated to see the original room. I used the online help 3 days before arriving to confirm our hotel accommodation and ask for directions from Rome Termini as the email confirmation sent to me had the wrong dates (was a day short). The online help couldn't help me so directed me to send an email directly to the hotel and the hotel took 3 and a half days to respond. Needless to say we had already checked in 6 hours prior to receiving the email and they hadn't even responded to the question re: directions from the Train. Quite unhelpful for 5 star. Don't think I will renew my gold ambassador membership. One positive is the location is fantastic - right at the top of the Spanish steps and close to the Metro. 15 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service an location clean, confortable hotel w great location, by spanish steps, walking distance to trevi fountaons, 14 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The perfect combination of style and comfort This hotel is perfectly located in Rome. The quality of service and amenities were great, yet not too upscale. We would recommend this to all of our friends and stay here again when we return! 10 May 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very attentive staff Very helpful and responsive by all means. And very patient. Both my wife and I have enjoyed the stay and will return Some recommendations: - pillows are too loose - breakfast buffet is too expensive for guests (like us) who eat light thank you 05 May 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Aged Hotel Needs to Enter the 21st Century The major plus of the InterContinental de la Ville is its location, right at the top of the Spanish Steps. Of course that quickly becomes a negative as you have to climb those steps each time you return. The hotel charges $30 USD for daily internet but it provides only 1mb of speed and generally you get logged out before you can get on a site! Today, everyone has a laptop, tablet or smartphone and quality high speed WiFi is a necessity like towels and pillows. A purported 5 ***** hotel has to provide that service. Additionally, the concierge act like they are doing you a favor when you ask for help. I can't tell you how many times during our 4 day stay I was directed to find things for myself rather than have the concierge help me with it. Plus, everyone grubbed for tips. Roof service waiters quickly mentioned that the hotel does not give them tips added to the bill and requested cash tips instead! All in all, the hotel was a very poor experience and, if and until the de la Ville enters the 21st century I'd suggest finding some other place to hang your hat in Roma. 28 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel I stay at a lot of IHG properties. This is a smaller, different type of hotel from their typical ones. I found this hotel to be extremely relaxing and carrying the same traditions/accommodations of the larger hotels. The concierge staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We did a lot of preplanning and they always responded to my emails in a timely matter. We were always greeted by staff members. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay in a busy city, this place is for you. 23 April 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 room 641 with terrace - no better way to stay in Rome a perfect stay, all the staff are perfect Even we had our previous stay in this hotel in 2008 we were welcomed as frequent guests. From the Bellboys at arrival to the check out after 4 nights everything was perfect. It was a great experience how all the staff took care about us. Our next stay in this great hotel will be of sure soon. Congratulation to the team ! 23 April 2014
