The hotel can't be beaten for location, and friendly staff, however, don't waste your money on the limo service it is terrible, your just as well getting a white taxi from the airport will be the same standard of car and service.
The Breakfast is a disaster zone if you are lucky enough to be seated before starvation, the service is erratic, and the buffet is always poorly stocked. Two mornings in a row I gave up waiting and went out for breakfast which is annoying at £40 a cover! Saying that it is one of the better hotels in Rome and the staff are a pleasure.

Everyone at the hotel from the General Manager to the Concierge exceeded our expectations - They were thoughtful, concerned , knowledgeable and most importantly extremely helpful - If you want to be treated like family, I highly recommend this hotel - It also has the best location in Rome -

Reservations were booked for us by Emotions in Tour by Romasi, a tour agency based in Rome. The Concierge at the hotel was most helpful as we needed to ship items back to the U.S. He went above and beyond the call of duty and we were able to spend time sight-seeing, not in line at a post office. Staff was lovely-hotel is beautiful and we loved our garden patio!

The Hotel Intercontinental in Rome is a great choice for Hotels. Sits conveniently at the Top of the Spanish steps, but more importantly, the Hotel is Very Clean, Rooms are Roomy, excellent Breakfast Buffet (which is included in the price of the room), and the Rates are among the Best in Rome for the location, quality of hotel and amenities....

My wife and I went on a Europe trip for our honeymoon and this hotel was by far the best we stayed in. The concierge went above and beyond and the complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us in the room was a nice touch.

From the minute we arrived we felt welcome at the hotel. The front desk immediately confirmed our Ambassador Club room upgrade, informed us of the amenities including a free bottle of wine and fruit in our room, and asked if we needed late check out.
The room was very nice....a junior suite with a terrace.
The concierge helped us to book dinner and the recommended restaurant was exactly what we had asked for.
The only bad thing is that we were only there for one night....
The concierge also helped us to send some boxes to northern Italy....and followed up with an email to provide the waybill number and confirm the cost.

Great location. Do not expect much from the room upgrade that comes with Ambassador membership. Room was small, but very comfortable bed. The room was not fully cleaned when we arrived, Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular and make sure you know if it is included in your rate for each night,

This hotel is in a very good location, Spangna Step. Although very old beuilding, But renovation in good condition. Due to Royal ambassador, we upgrade to a executive room with balcony vith city view.
This balcony even large then the room.
Room is very clean with beautiful decoration.
Breastfast served in the garden, not much choice, but you can have Poscceco, wonderful breakfast,
We also have dinner in the roof top restaurent, also very nice but a little experience

the hotel is at good location. The staff at front desk is friendly but not exceptional. Then room is big in compare to standard European hotel room. We are platinum member and was told to upgrade to delux room but it does not seem any special and at lower level which face to other building back side. The air condition may need overall and it seems not cool enough.

We enjoyed our stay overall and used points for the visit, which made this an exceptional value. We were greeted as IHG Platinum members, but with a more junior front desk agent who needed more help from a colleague during our check in. The room was only slightly dated in my opinion and the bed and bathroom were perfect for us. We really didn't explore the hotel very much, we were there to explore the city and this was the perfect jumping off point each day. Very close to two metro stops; right across the street from the Spanish Steps. Helpful concierge staff and bell services crew. Will return if in the area.

Hotel was good and at nice place to go sight seeing in Roma city, however, there was serious problem at the room we stayed.
About every 5 minutes, there was a hunmmering noise over the wall all days and night. We did not know what it was. Therefore, the noise interrupt our sleep and we did not have a good rest for all three nights.
It was not luxury room and we did not pay so high expense, however, the rate was enough high against usual hotel all over the world with noisy room.
Another one was at breakfast. I ordered cuppciono to a waitless, but she did not serve me any longer, even I expedited.

Das Hotel liegt sehr gut unmittelbar oberhalb der Spanischen Treppe. Zu Fuß ist man in 5 Minuten am Fontana di Trevi.
Die Zimmer sind klein, aber komfortabel. Das Frühstück ist OK, wenn auch teuer.
Die Rezeption ist der Größe des Hotels nicht angemessen: Warten...

We came here for a short city break and wanted to stay in a safe neighbourhood close to all the main sights and De la Ville nails it for location. The staff were amazing and cheerful from the moment we came right until the time we left. Nothing was too much for them. The concierge deserves a special mention as they went out of their way making bookings at various eateries, storing our shopping, and phoning various tour operators to confirm our sightseeing visits. The guest room is quite small and tight, and we struggled to fit our suitcases comfortably in the room. I also felt there wasn't enough light in the room. The bathroom was generously sized and had decent toiletries. Shower was nice, hot, and powerful as it should be. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with lots of variety in terms of hot and cold foods and pastries. The terrace restaurant gives a lovely view of Rome, however food was very mediocre. Certainly not worth the price in the menu. Menu was very limited for vegetarians. I wouldn't recommend to eat in the terrace restaurant. Service at the restaurant was very average, and sub-standard for the Intercontinental group. On the whole, a fabulous stay, and i would recommend it to my family and friends.

Great location at the top of the Spanish Steps, room was great and they honored my special occasion request which was greatly appreciated!
The only problem we ran into which was a major one for us was the concierge desk arranged a tour we requested, however failed to mention that the tour operator would not bring us back to the hotel where they picked us up. We were dropped off at another location in the city of Rome and given verbal directions on how to get back to the hotel, a nightmare trying to find your way back when you dont speak or read the language. I found this totally unacceptable. I have used the concierge in other IHG properties and they were top notch, this location not so much and for this reason I will not be back as I rely on them heavily to help out.

The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance from all major tourists attractions. Room is functional but very small. No a lot of working space. Bathroom is also small. Room is clean. Breakfast was rich. Staff was nice and welcoming, willing to help. A bit expensive though. Overall experience is positive.

We checked into the De La Ville Roma in mid-July for a few nights prior to cruising the Mediterranean. The staff could not have been more helpful and were quite welcoming.
Our room request was for a balcony and city view. We were totally unprepared for the exquisite view of Rome from our room and the beauty of the balcony itself.
This hotel is on my "to return" list!

In comparison to other IHG Hotels previously used, we were somewhat disappointed.
Double bedroom,: somewhat cramped, only one bedside table, no drawer space for putting clothes, wardrobe tiny.
Bathroom excellent, very well equipped and clean.
Would I recommend it? For location yes, value for money no.

The location is great!
The staff were very helpful.
Common areas are well kept.
Our room was a 'deluxe' but could have used a renovation many years ago.
Everything in the room was worn out and need to to updated.
