Staff is extremely rude and linen and towels smell like they wash them in dead skin.

Would not recommend unless you like poor customer service, being overcharged, and sleeping on linen that smells awful.

Clean and Minimalist

I drive from Dallas to Cincinnati on a regular basis and usually stay at a different hotel. This was my first stay and I am very happy with the hotel. It was clean and minimalist, perfect for a night or two. The bed was comfortable. They have coffee and ice available all the time in the lobby. They have some snacks for purchase too. They are pet friendly with a reasonable fee.
I will happily stay again on my next trip.

My only regret is I can't move this hotel to each of my night stops staying thru the 23rd (I stayed the night of May 9, 2025) Great experience, great staff, quiet and beds so comfy. Fantastic experience!

Did not get any rest, was annoyed my whole stay. As soon as we checked in went to our room on the 5th floor it was nasty not cleaned had to get a room on the 4th floor. Bed was comfortable, quiet night but around 5:30 am I got a call from the front desk talking about the smoke alarm was going off. They called again later and then to top it off an idiot from housekeeping came banging on the door talking about when we checking out. Really annoying. We will never stay at this location again and also didn’t like that it was combined with another hotel(candlewood suites).

Overnight stay on our way home from Florida. This hotel had all we needed, clean room, good bed, great shower and a quick breakfast. And the price was right. would definitely stay ay another property. normally we would have stayed at the Holiday Inn Exprees in the area but the price was too high for an overnight.Have been membersof the IHG reward program since 1988.

Booked my stay through their website and arrived at check in, but the hotel receptionist said they couldn't find my reservation. It apparently booked me at a nearby Avid location 40 miles away. The receptionist said this happened three other times that day but called the other location to "cancel" the incorrect reservation. They said it was no big deal and I had no issues during my stay but after I checked out, I was charged an additional $145 no show fee. The hotel said they couldn't assist and redirected me to IHG customer service to open a case and it's been a month later with no refund or updates. Every time I call back to get a resolution on this, I get told a different story on what they have to do and promise to update me after 24-48 hours. Well they never do that so I call and get the full run around with no way to escalate. It's a terrible customer experience and I refuse to stay at any IHG property because of how this is being handled.

Newly Renovated Avid Hotel/Candlewood Suites

I had a mostly positive stay at this hotel, with a few areas that could use improvement.

First, the building itself is gorgeous—clean, modern, and well-maintained on the exterior, with an exceptional lobby that makes a great first impression. Check-in was seamless with a reservation, which I truly appreciated.

The continental breakfast offered a nice variety of options, though the quality of the eggs was disappointing. It would have been great to have a waffle or pancake maker available as well. One major perk was the onsite guest laundry room—such a helpful amenity!

However, one of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for the indoor pool, as advertised online. Unfortunately, the pool is actually in an open-air space with just a roof overhead. Because of this, it was quite cold due to the wind, and there was debris in the water. I also wasn’t sure if the filters were working properly. We made the best of it and swam for a short time, but it was definitely a letdown.

The room itself was comfortable, with an incredibly cozy bed that allowed for a great night’s sleep. I also appreciated having an iron and board in the room, and the quality of the bathroom soap was surprisingly high. However, the room could have been cleaner—there were crumbs in the chair from previous guests, and the windows were noticeably foggy and dirty.

The biggest disappointment was the handling of a lost item. My child left behind a weighted stuffed dinosaur, which was very special to them. When I called the hotel, I was told I would receive a callback, but I have yet to hear anything. This was really disheartening.

Overall, this is a great facility with a lot of potential, but attention to detail in cleanliness, accuracy in advertising, and better communication regarding lost items would make a big difference.
