Huge comfortable bed and great service
By Sharonjane
We arrived at the hotel and where warmly greeted by the reception staff who provided us with a map of Rome and told where the metro station was and also that a bus stop was right outside the hotel. [More] The metro was a short walk from the hotel about 9 mins if that and the bus went straight to the Colosseum. Our room was very big and the double bed big enough for a family of four to sleep in. The room was exceptionally clean. There was no tea and coffee facilities but a quick visit to reception and a tray was delivered with a kettle, cups and tea and coffee arrived quickly and was replenished for the duration of our stay. The only disappointment was I could only find one plug in the room to use to charge our phones and sons iPod and when there are three of you waiting there was not always time to fully charge our items. There was a good range of items for breakfast everyday and the staff where very attentive and quick to clear your empty plates when you had finished so your table didn't become cluttered. Checkout was quick and easy. [Less]
Good Value Choice for Rome.
By Nick2706
This was a good choice for a 5 night stay. My room was an Executive room overlooking the courtyard with a balcony. The room was a good size with decent furniture and tea/coffee facilities. The [More] bathroom was well designed and spacious. I ate every night in the hotel, once in the restaurant and the rest in the bar. I had good salads which were well presented and of good quality. Breakfast has more options than is usual in a HI Express. The staff were all pleasant and I'd like to particularly mention Romina on the front desk for her help and pleasant attitude. The only problem was that the hotel aircon was set to heat only which meant the room got too warm, even with the patio door open. It was only March but nevertheless it was too hot inside. I noticed all the other rooms had their windows open too. The hotel is a 7 minute walk to both the nearest metro and Tuscalana railway station, which is a 40 minute train ride from Fiumicino airport. Great choice to visit Rome!!
The hotel was a great choice: the location is close to Vatican and Pantheon on foot (20 minutes), and is not in a noise location, but rather in a nice calmer street, but 5-10 minutes from Bus stops [More] that take you every where in Rome. Good restaurants are also close by. The hotel is comfortable, clean and have very good room cleaning and maintenance services. One of the best we stayed in Europe including London and Paris. [Less]
Hidden Gem!
By Kate125
Rome was the third stop on a four part European adventure. Just a little background, I am a Platinum Ambassador and I consider myself well-traveled. I have stayed at numerous InterContinentals and [More] IHG affiliates worldwide. On this trip I visited London InterContinental, Paris InterContinental, Rome Hotel Indigo, and Lisbon InterContinental. I was a bit apprehensive about staying at the Hotel Indigo because it was my first time, but what I thought might be a step down from a traditional InterContinental was actually an amazing step up. This hotel was smaller, but extremely modern and beautifully designed. Gone were the industrial hotel carpets, and in their place were sleek hardwood and tile floors. Modern art hung throughout the room, which somehow seamlessly blended historic Roman style with modern Italian flair. I was greeted very warmly upon arrival, and was pleasantly surprised to find that my reservation included the use of the hotel spa at no additional cost. I decided to take advantage of this, and it was even better than I could have expected. I was transported into a Roman bathhouse (with modern amenities of course) including a whirlpool, steam room, and sauna. The concierge at Hotel Indigo was extremely responsive, and even made a last minute reservation at an exclusive lunch spot for me when I called them while touring the streets of Rome. This Hotel Indigo has definitely changed my perception of the brand, and I will be seeking them out on my next vacation! [Less]
